Not enough info. Were the brakes dead ? Did the throttle cable bind or break and the brakes couldn't stop the plane over the power of the engine at startup ? Did he hand-prop the plane and it got away from him ? Or did the pilot just "plane" panick? (I made a joke !)

It was still an accident that was completely the pilot's fault. You NEVER start an aircraft like that.
