I love love LOVE this movie. But I hate the quality. Because how good it is. I like the slightly-fuzzy VHSes better. This is a diamond-edition DVD, and you can tell its been doctored, which I can't stand.
@Grannyslittlegirl My VHS tapes of these movies aren't slightly blurry - they're on the brink of being completely impossible to watch ('The Little Mermaid' is black-and-white from watching it over and over and over again). That's why I'm supportive of these movies on DVD - I get a chance to watch them as many times as I want and maybe even show to my children in the future (if I happen to have any) :)
what i think is funny is that in the beginning of the movie you can totally see that he is making the puppet talk, but here hes like a pro ventriloquist

So the bodies were taken to the catacombs. Later, Charles-Axel Guillaumo oversaw the organizing of the bones so that the catacombs were made into a mausoleum of sorts. Its actually quite historically possible that they would have been used as hiding places like its shown in the movie--Rebels used the passages for living spaces in rebellions
@Adnama109 A lot of catacombs in other places were originally Masuleums(sp?) in essence mass graves long before the plagues. They were mostly used in Italy and Greece in those years during the Roman Empire Era.
Clopin is so obviously the best character in this movie. ;D Plus, I love his schizo Puppet. 2:27 Not to mention Paul Kendel is absolutely amazing! My favorite part of probably the whole movie is his last note in the Bells of Notre Dame! W-O-W. Classic Disney movies are really the foundation of all our childhoods, aren't they. All of us who had proper childhoods! Woo Hoo!

Hey as long as disney doesn't make straight to DVD sequels of marvel theatrical films, than their okay in my book. I mean disney owning marvel isn't a big deal, they know to handle mature stuff, like fantasia and hunchback of notre dame. If disney started making marvel more family friendly, than they'd lose their fan-base, and disney would've invested in marvel for no reason if they didn't have a fan-base. So really Disney isn't bad.
i really dont get what you got against disney buying marvel... i dont think they'll change the characters or make the movies more family friendly if that what you're afraid of.

hunchback of notre dame was definitely the most risque disney has ever gotten in terms of a family film. they took a lot of risks in this movie, and it all payed off BIG TIME. it's a shame this movie didn't win any oscars though. it totally deserved it
