Being as there is the concept of infinity, a concept of infinite infinities is also valid. Limiting oneself to ten dimensions is akin to being a flatlander. We are still so basic in our understanding of the higher self or higher energy as it were. Like the experiment where a solved crossword puzzle becomes easier to those doing it the first time, we are building this knowledge upon our selves. I look forward to fifty thousand years from now and where we will be as a species. Or not. ; )
at 0.24 we hear 'a first dimensional object has length only', but this is impossible. because to tell the difference between the line and anything else, the line needs a width no matter its width is visible for human eyes or not. except for the line represents nothing but an 'imaginary idea that indicates a position in a (geometrical) system, as it said in 0.08. am i wrong?
@fleetwoodmac1982 It represents the imaginary idea of a line. The "imaginary point" has no size, no width, no length; it's just a coordinate, a location. The "imaginary line" is a theoretical connection spanning two such locations; it itself has no width, no weight. We wouldn't be able to "see" it; the two-dimensional representations of points as circles and lines as very-thin rectangles are visible abstractions for our benefit.
How if Jesus is someone from future & higher dimension, that time traveled to our past to change future? When he said "done" it means he already change the future with defeat Lucifer in the past. Like Neo defeat Virus in Matrix.
Resurrection and cloned of God are possible in higher dimension.
That's why Jesus called himself "the first and the last", the beginning and the end.
The problem with all this is that trying to rationalize the true nature of higher dimensions is as impossible for 3-dimensional beings as it is for Flatlanders to understand the nature of dimensions higher than their 2 dimensions.
Assigning dimensionality to, for example, bifurcations (choices) along the timeline is simply an arbitary device - and should be presented as such.
Ultimately, such conjecture is merely (and necessarily) a stab in the dark as to the nature of higher dimensions.
If a two dimensional being can't handle properties that we third dimensional being have like digestion for instance, I'm pretty sure that we (third dimensional being) can't handle properties that a fourth dimensional being have like telepathy or something (Head-Explodes)
Well, the other 7 dimensions (according to the most recent, legitimate theory of Strings--M-Theory), excluding the 4 that we experience (Length, width, height, and 1 dimension of time) are theorized to be infinitesimally small! The dimensions are predicted to be curved and so I don't think that all of Rob's logic is correct. Besides, his examples are completely useless as they are 100% impractical because we have yet to test predictions that exceed the known dimensions.
@uwaga1717 Strongly agree with your comments. Rob's conclusion that all possible universes are included in the 10th dimension is at odds with M-Theory's 11 dimensions - and you are totally correct stating that the extra dimensions are expected to be folded into infinitesimally small space,
Rather than trying to fruitlessly rationlise higher dimensions using arbitary criteria as Rob does, it is more useful and constructive to treat them simply as mathematical constructs.
This is the kind of stuff I wish everyone else thought about. It really makes you feel significantly insignificant all the while making you feel important.
If you believe in the 10th dimension, then believing in God, as I do, isn't too much of a step off.
See, now if I had professors in school/college who knew how to make complex theories so engaging, maybe I would have graduated with markedly better grades.
So the main reason why the 10th dimension can't find another point is because beyond every single possibility of everything. Is nothing but an empty void without possibilities...
There is an 11th dimension then!
It's usually called IMPOSSIBILITY.
But that creates a paradox... Because a dimension couldn't possibly exist in a dimension without possibilities.
All right: The 11th Dimension Paradox Theory. Sounds good, gotta google it in case someone else figured this out before me. ;)
A Flatlander eating needn't fall apart into two pieces. Instead of complete line of a digestive track, we could imagine an apple meets his lips, which then envelopes the apple. Now the apple is fully enclosed, and the location where the apple touches his lips opens, and the outwardly extended section of lip, reforms into lips.
Author and physicist, Brian Greene, uses the analogy of a doughnut and a coffee cup, as actually being the same shape.
I use the analogy of a stage. If we are sitting in the audience, we know there is a flat curtain in the back of the stage, and at either end, is a curtain panel. As the actor enters/exits stage, he passes between a panel, and the back curtain. Depending upon our view, an optical illusion takes place. All the curtains appear to be a single, solid curtain, and the actor appears to us to be popping in and out of the higher dimensions, in the middle of what appears to be a solid curtain.
the strabge thing about this theory is the fact that if this theory is correct another you is burning alive of being crushed beneath an elevator...or youre a single atom with no brain. or maybe another you doesnt even exist.
Although I know the ant on a newspaper thing is only an analogy it seems to present a problem to me and a massive hole in the entire theory:
The ant on the newspaper is not a flatlander and the newspaper isn't entirely flat either. This much is obvious. But you can't talk about folding dimensions through other dimensions on the premise that we are already folding 2dimensional objects through the third dimension. Because we have never done this - absolutely everything in our world has depth.

But aren't the extra dimensions supposed to be smaller, curled up spatial dimensions? Atleast according to the string theory?
How did probability come in to the picture?
And how can that be called a dimension?
