  • thats why i get dell!!

  • multifunctional notebook: heater, toaster and iron.

  • i am having problems here, mine has to be at a certain angle or it will not load anything. i have to press hard on the touch pad to get the cursor to move and i also need to do that if i want the thing to load. it needs a light smack next to the touch pad to work too. what exactly is the problem? i am getting really fed up here, over the past few days i have been having these problems.

  • can i apply this method to a desktop motherboard? my asrock alivenf7ghd720p's pcie slot is not working.

  • HP=Horrible Products

The company knew the GPU problem for many years in all DV series and never recalled them-just extended warranty after Class Action suit. They suck!

  • I ve done it today just with a lighter and some thermodinamic paste. It works, thanks god. but I don t know for how long... is this only some temporary solution?

  • First it was a black screen that fixed with new inverter and i still think theres a problem because where the inverter is at it gets quite hot and now the fan is not doing its job as keeping the laptop cool. How would i go about checking it out? Would i have to remove the bottom cover for this? Its a decent laptop but with wayyyyyyyy to many damn problems.

  • my driver died on me after 6 months... not a good computer, it over heats from day 1. can't replace graphics card, mother bored issues, can't clean out GPU fan. i mean come on HP!

  • I found out how to fix the screen...go to my page, type in cazooooooo in the search, and look for my video, you will thank me....no unscrew because your just screwing yourself...no heating up video chips, your just gonna burn your system PLEASE FOLLOW MY SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS....WILL WORK 100%

  • HP sucks i rather buy Acer.

  • After a class action suit, HP has been ordered to replace these and many other laptops made from '06 to '09! (Other brands too!)

But the deadline for filing a claim is very soon -- March 14, 2011. Here's the website: nvidiasettlement(dot)com

It's sad that word hasn't gotten out about this settlement, but, unfortunately, I think that's just the way HP planned it. The window for filing a claim was only three months -- unbelievable.

    Keep reposting this information!!!

  • Hey guys! if this video didnt help you fix your broken laptop and you are considering cutting you losses you should sell it through REMOTE LISTER! its fast and easy and you will get more money for your broken or unwanted laptop!! click our channel! go to remotelister . com

  • Try a copper shim and lower your gpu temps. Only $5 and includes thermal paste. Search for "dv6000 copper shim" on ebay.

  • i have had my dv6000 for about three years now and i bought it used. i have never heard of this issue till last week when mine died. I think using it in powersaver with the battery makes mine run hot.. I have beat the living shit out of this laptop and this is the only time i ever had a problem with it. Took apart and heated the chip with a heatgun and my friend monitored the chip with a thermal camera that displayed temp and to look for even heat. Fixed!!!!!

  • whatever you do, it'll be never 100% fixed. same problem will show up within few weeks-months.

  • Initial Diagnostic - just $1

    PrecisionDivision . com

  • A shim will destroy your GPU. Do not use a shim. - Precision Division

  • i have the HP Pavillion dv9000 and its absolutely horrible . . it overheats after about 30 - 1 hour

  • anyone encountered any kind of problem with HP DV7 1000ea yet??

  • Try a copper shim to lower your gpu temps 15%. Only $5 and includes thermal paste. Search for "DV6000 Copper Shim" on ebay.

  • I have hp pavillion dv6 i could not enoble the wlan switch would u pl solve my problem

  • These youtube videos are only teach people one thing:

    How to destroy your laptops.

Heat guns, hair dryers, loose change, black magic - all temporary tricks that will not last. You will likely cause permanent damage.

Precision Division in Florida repairs these systems with a computer controlled dark - infrared rework station and implements a very effective thermal management solution.

  • Cold joint under GPU in most of cases.

  • @itproof My laptop is junk as well. So mad when told that HP would not resolve (despite the fact that they new they were selling a defective product) that I put my dv6000 laptop in a closet. However, after receiving today an email from HP to purchase new product, I've decided to post my dissatisfaction on as many forums as possible, including product reviews. We should all do the same.

What horrible customer no service, as well a company that knowingly sells junk!

  • @shelleyreneee

agreed. My dv7 has begun overheating after about 6 months of use

bought brand new. I'm tired of expensive things being made in a shitty manner. After you return your second Xbox and your laptop the world of customer service really starts to seem like a cruel joke.

  • I have a DV6115eu and it won't start. Are you saying that I should take motherboard out and heat the gpu up to 220'C? What exactly has gone wrong with the motherboard? Is it a capacitor or what?

  • Mine is the white one is that a diff verison cause i have both and the white one costed more no rasist

  • So I've re-flowed five times and still it boots up for a day or two then.... blue lights blank screen. My gpu temp monitor read 96-98 at the most after the the re-flows. Then I sanded two pennies instead of one (seeing that when I squeezed on the heat sink mother/board that the heat compound squished out with only one.) The whole deal seamed alot tighter. Fallowing that I drilled holes on the case below the gpu. now its reading 135 or so, much more accurate considering the issue. make it tight!

  • You did something wrong. It's better to leave it for experienced technician. Temperature of GPU after repair is arround 55 - 65 degrees celsius, during overload in 3D mark it's 70 - 75.

  • @itproof the numbers I gave are Fahrenheit not Celsius. IT WORKS!!!!

  • @itproof the numbers I gave are Fahrenheit not Celsius. IT WORKS!!!! Also, your video is a joke.

  • @itproof i have a stack of dead DV6000 at my shop. i am an experienced tech. i usually only have about a 50% success rate with re-flowing these.

  • i don't care i still love hps.. opinion

  • My HP/Compaq is less than 2 years old. It died recently but came back to life. I will never buy another one.

  • Ive had mine for 3 yrs...piece of crap. now my fan is dying.

    HP can suck it!

  • does it blend?

  • Need help, I took my laptop apart and reassembled it again and I have two left over silver blue screws where does it go?

  • @filiwian join the club, it happens. Put them in a cup or disassemble it and find a manual on reassembly

  • Dear Mark Hurd, now that you've resigned from HP as CEO, I can't mail this to your office, however, I do want you to know how I and many other customers of HP feel about your customer service, product support, and well.... ... your products. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to finally get my money's worth from your products..

    Thanks,

    an X-Customer

  • never again hp, they really screwed up

  • Im confused, I have had the same problem with my laptop, but I was able to reconnect the screen (it was unplugged some how). The screen came on but it still turns on and turns back off shortly

  • @poof0poop the graphic chip needs to be resoldered, best solution for this piece of s... is to the send it to the trash can and buy an Apple, the chip will fail again and again, later on the wireless dissapear, and finally the Hinges fail and the top cover is damaged, look in this site for stories about this "excellent" laptop.

  • I have one of these laptops and I'm not happy to say that I've been through two instences within six months of each other where I had to restore it back to factory condition. The first time I opened up my laptop fully expecting to be able to watch some YT vids to relax- but I had an error on my screen. It was a Harddrive malfunction of some sort, and I had to replace my harddrive. The second time it was a software problem. Both times I nearly lost everything I had done so it really effed me up.

  • Try my copper shim to greatly lower your gpu temps. Only $6 and comes with free thermal paste. Search for "dv6000 copper shim" on ebay.

  • HP 4510s nice and quality piece of machine...

  • hp = horrible....I'm never buying ANYTHING from hp again

  • Try HP 4510s or look for laptop without powerfull graphics card (Intell)

  • @IHATESTUPlDPEOPLE The same problem happened to me with a DV6500 and i'm not going to buy no more of their products..

  • @IHATESTUPlDPEOPLE the new hp stuff are better man...or just buy your self custom shit to build one yourself...less expensive- but i don't think you have enough intelligence to achieve that...or do you...

  • @yes its very bad i hate it

  • @IHATESTUPlDPEOPLE HP systems are perfectly fine. They just fucked up on the DV6000.. With all the overheating, and main board problems.

I've been though 4 HP laptops in the past 7 years. They all still work fine.

  • don't make fun of me but I fixed this problem with a bic lighter just got the top of the GPU real hot and the under side real hot and pushed gpu back down works for now

  • Just get a new cable. They are dirt cheap.

And not the original thin ones or alike from China, but thick V2.0 from E-bay or 2fixdotnet

We use those in the shop for 2 years now.

  • I see the dell demention 4000. those are very slow computers.

for some reson I like them...

  • Does anyone know what the part number is on the back of the LCD screen? I'm told it should look something like...LTN154XX-L0D.

  • Owners of this unit gripes of the same issue...I'm one of them.

My laptop keeps on blacking out last week but with the help of my proficient technician,we found out that the problem was due to overheating!

My laptop's condition did not necessitate for motherboard replacement instead,my technician applied a heat reducing substance in one of my hardware.

    It waseffective!

However,if your video card is NVIDIA,chances are it's a motherboard defect already hence you have to change the motherboard.

  • HP also never gives you a actual copy of the OS for you as a customer to have. They expect you to buy another HP haha, they expect you buy another throw away pc.

  • Last night i tried to upgrade my Videocard and HP puts Hard drive Cages to prevent anybody from removing them? I almost broke my motherboard trying to muscle fuck the unlocking mechanism to remove them to switch out a power supply. They honestly do not give a shit about customers. Remember you dont own the PC HP DOES!

  • Last night i tried to upgrade my Videocard and HP puts Hard drive Cages to prevent anybody from removing them? • I bought a HP desktop with a 620 X4 quadcore, im the kind of person who likes to upgrade my system eventually. Back in 2008 HP switched a sister company who produces motherboards " Pegatron" Now they give you a off name brand Mobo which is complete crap and only has one PCI-E 16 slot. And no standard PCI slots for upgrading to a soundcard, etc. I will only build my own computers from now on, Last night i tried to upgrade my Videocard and HP puts Hard drive Cages remember HP OWNS YOUR PC

  • The issue with the DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, TX1000, F500, F700 laptops happens to be both your fan, video memory, and video card.

If you do not update these files, you will need to have a BGA reflow service to fix your chipsets to restore your wireless and video. What will happen is you will get no video, all blue lights, and the system will cycle on and off every 1 to 2 minutes.

Check Doubleclickittofixit on Google to fix it.

  • hp is a big a^^ hole my cpu temp is 55 to 60

  • Mine is up to 45 to 55

  • that's too much and i think it will reach 60 in overload. man i want u to know i sold my laptop and i will buy acer laptop, acer is much better in cooling and many other things.

  • if 100% of their products failed they'd be out of business. No, just alot of their products fail and because they have such a huge market position and most people are not capable or interested in understanding the difference between well engineered vs cheaply engineered products, people buy HPs then end up with a dead product not long after the warranty runs out. THeir failure rate is growing and I have first had experience with mine and two of my family members HP notebooks failing early

  • mine doesn't have any problem!in my opinion HPs are the best!!!

  • best non-gaming laptops yes, but no match for an alienware or sager

  • omg can u fix my hp g60 it keeps on turning off randomley n now its on safe mode cant take it off

  • mac sucks its plain and simple im not gona waste money for a stupid mac that i can,t even ubgrade lol what a waste :)

  • actually u can upgrade them

  • yeah what put ram and hard drives

    lol

  • u can put a new os upgrade u can put microsoft updates on it u can do anything u can do on a pc but better dnt get me wrong i luv my pc with windows 7 but i like mac to their unique

  • well i think they have a big lack or chose i hate buying computer that are already built yuck i build my own shit :) so that way i know that i will have a good warenty on part and i know that it will be the way i want it u cant do that on a mac because its not compatible with everything pc can have that why im a big pc fan and its because of the games 2 im a pure gamer and max sucks for gaming mac is for movie makin and shit

  • i have to completely agree with tht

  • hp replace my mobo!

  • Comment removed

  • they dont even look that nice look at the new asus man they look awsome and they have the best support and warenty ive ever seen even dell can't beat asus

  • @luggi10 Same thing happened to mine; it started working again after a few months of being dead. It stopped working again after a month though...

  • Also, HP refused to help, since I was out of the extended warranty. Also also, a friend of mine had one with some major overheating problems; she sent it in for service 4 times and they never fixed it. Thank god she had an extended warranty she bought, and they replaced the laptop with a brand new one (actually mailed her a cheque for $500 and said "go pick one you like").

  • @tertiumsquid

    really? ...

  • @tertiumsquid lol "cheque" :D

  • @luggi10 Well it depends what models you choose. You choose try to search up reviews on a laptop before buying it. The one I have works fine and its a beauty.

  • they have a nvidia go 7200 256mb, but on mine its not the videocard, i think its the chipset

  • what video card does this have? 8600m? 8400m?

  • Gma or GUA 950

  • @thegreatman99 8400m in my case

  • i got the black screen without the beeb i'm taking everything out tomorrow and use a heat gun on the video card. it's temporary solution and i'm not wasting money on a new motherboard i'll just get new one later.

  • it's sad to say but i have seen many hp laptops failed due to nvidia gpu failure incl mine. now am worried buying other brands with nv gpu's, i'd rather stick to my desktop pc.

  • I had the same problem... NEVER BUY HP....!!! Unless you want to go through all the thinks I have gone through!

  • no, not just "dont buy hp laptops" don't get the CONSUMER GRADE laptops. Get the commercial or business grade laptops, they will last a lot longer and are more expensive, yet more durable and less problems. I have a friend who worked for HP and has taught me these things.

  • i have the exact same laptop have had to reflow it twice now to fix it. This video shows absolutely nothing.

Never buy HP laptops. They look nice but thats about all.

  • Comment removed

  • this video justshows him connrecting the ribbon cables and hard drive and ram etc.. how is this of ANY help ??

  • I disagree. I have a laptop and a tower pc made by HP and I simply just love them. Maybe you just don't know what you're doing with them. My tower is 5 years old and it has never broke down once. Both of them has just been upgraded to Windows 7 and it runs alot smoother than Vista. Everything breaks, It's just up to the person to take care of it to make it last. Now the only downside would be the life of the battery for my laptop. Their battery is just a piece of ****.

  • All hp are shit. You are lucky to get more than a year out of their notebooks. The printers is shit as well. The printer driver doesn't even want to install on many machines.

  • Not all dv6000's are crap, just the AMD64 with the Nvidia graphics. Mine is a dv6120us centrino dual core with the intel 945gm graphics. 3 years, no need for service. then again, mine's not for games...but windows 7 works just fine!

  • Hey, I've owned a HP Pavilion dv6000 since July 2008, and i agree that it is a p.o.s. to an extent. However, I recently purchased a targus duo fan chill mat and my processing has improved significantly. I can run autocad or even play halo on my laptop now without exceeding 50% core usage. I also dust the components once every 3 months. Essentially, if you add a chillmat to your dv6000, performance improves a lot.

  • i repair laptos for living, and hp laptops are just as said a pile of shit. stay away from them and also compaq is owned by hp so stay from that too. Dell toshiba and sony are the best for laptops

  • a pile of shit? i have owned a Pavillion dv6k

    for about 3 years now and its made it through;

multiple drops, slams, bangs, scrapes, i spilled half a liter of Arizona ice tea on it,(not intentional) to the point where the ice tea was pouring out of the fan and till this day its running with out needing to be sent anywhere aside from issues with Vista which started off as computer cancer when i first bought it.

  • Well, my wife bought the DV6000 (against my wishes) which came with an awesome faulty motherboard, and will concur that they are in fact, steaming piles of shit. I gave up trying to talk with HP and just bought her a new laptop. I think googling HP DV6000 will help you to find more people that will agree that this laptop is a steaming pile of dung.

  • idk i had problems with vista when i had 1st bought it but then again who didn't other then that its worked in top form, and i have dogged it beyond belief and it has not let me down. and am not the type to buy it and let it collect dust i used it almost everyday for the last 3 years and it always works

  • darkskyak1, you are absolutely right, I also repair laptops, and I have made a decision that I will not touch any hp laptops, the hp support is the worst, their factory network cards last about a year or so, when you upgrade, downgrade, or reload the same operating system, it's a drag on the stability of the system thru the process. Overall -- these computers are the worst,

If you own one, do yourself a favor, sell it before the you get a problem.

  • IF you have the time and interest to repair your dv pavilion, try "Como reparar notebook - how to fix hp: tx1000 dv2000, dv6000, dv9000" youtube post. It is spanish with english translation. It is the method I used to fix my dv2000. I used a 125halogen lamp from Sears and heated the gpu for 3mins.

  • They replaced mine a year ago. About 2 months ago it started with the No WiFi card issue again so I knew it was coming. This week the dreaded 3 beeps. Damn! Dumbasses at HP! You would think they would have fixed the issue rather than giving us the same crappy motherboard! Junk! I bought a Dell yesterday. Hopefully it will be better!

  • This is by far the worst notebook I've ever bought and had in my life. And ever HP product I have bought has been on the bar of being so so, and just plain out terrible. I'm glad I have a mac now!

  • A friend just gave me her old DV6000. It has the infamous 3 beeps with black screen. What a pile of shit this laptop is. Im just using it for parts. my 5 year old zt3000 still works perfectly...so not all HP's are crap.

  • hp sucks and their service sucks more

  • I meant to say battery and not batter.

  • This happened to my computer once, but i got an easier solution. Take the battery out of the computer and hold the power button for a minute. Then put the batter back in and it should work.

  • AND THE VIDEO ITS WHAT ABOUT???

  • i have the same problem, but no warranty:(... how does a motherboard costs??????

  • it cost a lot money,

  • they are expensive u just should buy a new one instead of the motherboard cuz this model has to many problems it breaks easily i use to have it too now i just have a desktop!!!!

  • Hello! I got a problem with mi keybord... well the problem is with my H & G keys; the top, the black piece were is the letter just boots out! The key work perfectly, but if my parents see that i boot it they are going to punish me :(

    any help or video?

  • HE GOT BONER JAJAJAJAJA

  • LMFAO

  • aa only PUT THE BATTERY IN THE CORRECT SIDE IDIOT

  • Hello itproof

We at HP have Seen Your Problem and have 2 solutions

  • This is what happened to my HP and i only used it for 2 weeks and then this fucking black screen comes up when i try to turn it on DONT BUY HP products they fuck up with in 1 week. Go For DELL They Have Good Computer!!!

  • what is under the left palm rest... cuz mine makes a clicking sound every now and then, and the noise comes from the left palm rest... I've sent this laptop so many times for repair... HP is starting to annoy me so hard... won't but their products again.

  • That's probably your hard drive which is supposed to make some noise.

  • I had this problem but one random day it stated working again and it is still working

  • mine shut down and hp is very aware of this problem yet talk circles to avoid replacing or fixing their design faults. The processor is no good.

  • Check in your trash can and check if your DV6000 Laptop fits if it does keep it there =)

  • nice idea that's what i did~~!!!!!!

  • MMMM dude u are totally wrong my cp didnt come with any motherboard problem maybe u did something to it or u baught it used or simply ur seller had something to do :S

  • Also keep in mind, I am in Canada where HP cares about their customers. Only specific models are covered.

  • Hello,

I actually have purchased a couple dv2000 series laptops with this problem and hp here in canada fixed them for nothing. I am using one and my wife is using the other. I wasn't even the original owner. Maybe if you don't yell and swear at them, they will help you too.

  • ours died in the 13 th month of use and they wont fix it. never again!

  • Go to the website, "hplies."

    Google "Nvidia defect."

This is a bigger issue than most people realize.

  • I have a problem, my HP Pavilion dv6000, will not turn on at all. when i plug it in, and hit the power button....nothing happens, except the battery indicator light flashes twice. wtf is going on...anyone?

  • The battery is dead. It only flashes when there is insufficient power. Most likely, the cause of this is your AC Adapter was treated poorly, and has a break in the wire, so its not supplying the PC with power, and the PC is switching to battery, to find it too is dead.

  • Oh wow, thanks. yeah my adapter is acting funny as well. it blinks when plugged in, and doesn't get hot like it used to.

  • Well, in reality, the HP AC Adapters are problematic. I have had several fail, and found that HP had a recall. I found this only after having to do multiple repairs on several adapters. Your PC sounds like it is having the same symptoms, you may want to see if your PC qualifys for a replacement.

  • Replacement of the adapter? Not the whole pc right?

  • Yea, no problem. If you bought it at a retail store, dig up your receipt, and bring the adapter in, regardless if you have warranty on it. If it was bestbuy, futureshop, they will probably replace it at cost of HP, and not you. Good luck!

  • Thank you for your response by the way, i think thats the problem too.

  • I read from video description that they extend warranty from 1 to 2 years. is it true?

  • no its all a lie dude they barley want to fix it for you how are they gonna extend your warranty they are a joke!

  • If you pay for an extended warranty, then you can extend the 90 day warranty to 18 months.

  • Puto¡¡

  • hey may sceen isn't black it just wont keep the color without me holding it

  • I have the same exact computer with a bad motherboard and the screen splits up randomly and we sent it to HP the first 2 times and they "fixed" it and then a year later right after the warranty expired it went bad again and HP said that they're not doing anything about it so SCREW YOU HP

  • ive had the same exact problem. freaking frustrating. im never buying anything hp ever again.

  • we are many, hp = garbage

  • same here, Hp laptop, scanner, printer, they all broke. I 'm never ever gonna touch Hp again.

  • If you have black screen and three beeps, one long and two shorts, problem with hp laptop, please PM me

I know easy fast and cheap way how to fix this problem. Just PM me and I will explain everything in low price. With my method I'm using my computer about half year.

My method just fixing problem with black screen and three beeps, one long and two short.

  • Hello,

Could you tel me please your cheapest methode to fix Three beeps error on HP.

  • Comment removed

  • if it freezes dont press anything until it unfreezes it used to happen to me and i have thesame model

  • my hp pavilion dv6000 is freezing so badly and making these loud beeping noises i resotred it twice i believe now i have everything on my external and for somereason my laptop keeps freezing and beeping help?

  • My HP laptop worked great! It didn't fall over not once at the shooting range when I plugged it with my .45 ...I currently own a Thinkpad now.

  • I have had problem with HP DV6000, Never buy one. The customer service is crapiest. they don't give a damn about their customers. HP sux.

  • mafiamob2005, learn how to spell before making such idiotic remarks about facts that generally aren't true.

  • Generally aren't true?? Who are you, HP's CEO?? There are, in case you hadn't noticed you stupid shit, plenty of people who have had problems with HPs, myself included. I wonder who's paying you to dispute what is quite clearly the truth.

  • ..and there are 'quite clearly' more people than not who haven't had problems. If you actually didn't notice, I can understand people having problems, but I can't understand people complaining so far to end up thinking that HP is some kind of company that lies, just because people have similar problems. THAT is what I'm regarding as generally untrue, 'you stupid shit'.

But there you have it! Straight away you think I'm getting paid for saying that I haven't had a problem? LOL! So sad..

  • Heh, I've got a DV6000 and have had it for well over a year. No problems at all. It's great to see people get wound up thinking a company worth millions would lie to people, just because others had a simular problem! LOL!! If it breaks, get a replacement, some of you are sounding like whiny idiots, such as "HPARE USELESS". No one's really going to listen to your complaints, and I can bet my life that HP won't give a damn about a youtube account that you've made against them. Good luck though.

  • These people are complaining because it's true... Do you think they are posting because they are just having fun? No... They purchased laptops from HP and after approx. 1 years many of them stop working and require $400+ in repair. I KNOW, because I work for HP and suggested to many of my friends and family to buy HP laptops - after about 1 years many of those people have realy legitimate problems with their laptops. So, hopefully you have purchased a 2 or 3 year warranty.

  • You're an idiot. You've had no problems, good for you, but I bought a Dv6000 series and within 2 months of careful use, the power jack was broken and would no longer take a charge. Lots of people have had the same problem and HP refuse to acknowledge it. Get a replacement? I sent it back twice and both times I came back still broken, after only two months of having it. What a waste of time! If I'm going to pay that much money, I want something that works and is built to last Ie. not an HP. Dick.

  • hp sucks dick selling us laptops that a designed to due after 1 year FUCK HP!! im sticking to a desktop pc, less hassle, less cost and a peace of mind. FUCK HP.

  • I agree

  • hplies . com

    Spread the word!

  • _S6D4bjqY_4

  • y did you not put your battery back in - is it better running it on the plug only when not mobile??????? You think it would cut down on the heat?

  • hp are useless pop over to my channel and show your support

  • and ive replaced mine 3 times

  • i have a dv9000 series and the same thing happened. nvidia sold faulty video cards
