  • Still brings goosebumps after 8 years, shake off the beer and chicken, can't wait for '12!

  • I love the Red Sox. That being said, the Yankees don't suck. They won the World Series in 2009, and the Sox haven't done jack since 07. Just because I hate the Yankees doesn't mean they suck. 27 World Series Championships would prove that. Stay Classy Red Sox Fans.

  • I was 8 when this happened... im a yankee fan i was sooo devastated, but watching this vid now i cant help but smile a little...

  • great play. the underdog wins!

  • 5 yankee fans...

  • not to be a arrogant yankee fan but the yankees will never be beaten in world series you name it there just a really grateful to have all that money and talent.

  • hmm it looks like there are a lot of yankee fans watching this video. i cant imagine why though

  • @BMTHmichaelTDWP LETS GO TIM TEBOW

  • Boston is still alive!

  • The Yankee's 27 World Series championships are big yawns.

  • @aaron93m I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't say that if the Red Sox had the 27 championships. You are just mad because the last time the Red Sox were a dynasty was from 1915-1916.

  • song? please song!

  • i never get tired of this clip or this 30 for 30 episode!

  • biggest steal in baseball history?? id say yes.

  • @TheTigersWingsFan It was the greatest moment in Red Sox history. The best part is it was at the exspense of the Yankees.

  • @TheTigersWingsFan what? not jackie robinsons stealing home to help beat the yankees in the world series? i can say that know one really remembers this beside like the big red sox assholes that like to use everything on the yankees because there a better team

  • @JACKALOW4LIFE 1980 the Yankees got swept by th KC Royals, 1963 Yankees got swept by the LA Dodgers, 1976 Yankees got swept by the Cincinati Reds, 1960 the Yankees lost to the Pirates in 7 games, 2001 the Yankees lost to the Diamondbacks. What are you talking about the Yankees can't lose in a world series?

  • @MaxxRedSox im talking about the total number of world series not theyll never be beaten in the world series shit ik that

  • @JACKALOW4LIFE How can the Yankees not be beaten in the world series when they fail to pass the ALCS?

  • roberts got the steal because yankees suck

  • @848paul848 I wouldn't say the Yankees suck. Saying that would be in denial and unintelligent. You can be a rival without lying. The Yankees do not suck. The Red Sox pulled off the greatest victory and it was nice to see. I'm a Red Sox fan too but I'm not going to say anything foolish like the Yankees suck because they don't.

  • @848paul848 Another fucking moronic, BANDWAGON Red Sox fan.

Roberts got the steal because he was a fast mother fucker, who was put in the game to steal the base, you dumb fuck.

Also pretty funny to hear somebody say a team with TWENTY-SEVEN championships sucks. Especially when his team hadn't won shit in 86 years, and only has 7 championships total. The Yankees have won that many championships since I've been alive.

  • Best fans in the world.

  • @9293chh That's being delusional. The Yankees clearly are the best team in baseball as well as the fans.

  • @TexasPuertoRock they have great fans but none like boston bro

  • @9293chh None like Boston? Since when did 1918 and waiting 86 years make you better fans?

  • @TexasPuertoRock what does that have to do with having good fans..? lol

  • @9293chh Because you guys waited so long for a championship. Then all of a sudden you guys win 2 championships and somehow you all put the Sawx in the same category as the Yankees. I laugh because you need 20 more world series rings before you get that crown!

  • congrats red sox..you beat us..get over yourseves its 2011 not 2004 anymore

  • @BirdmanJR1324 You have to understand my friend winning is foreign in Red Sox nation. Put it like this my friend winning to them is like seeing a shooting star or an eclipse. So when their losing Sox finally win a game its like "WOW is this what winning feels like?" To us the Yankees winning is like the wind blowing its natural and second nature. So let them bask in their little triumph. We have 27 they have 7.

  • @TexasPuertoRock Yep, 27 championships paid in full. I'd rather win like this instead of win with money. And I'm NOT a Red Sox fan.

  • @BonhamRox And what did the Red Sox try to do in 2011 and failed at? They too spend big bucks to win. But the difference is the Yankees win and the Red Sox don't doesn't matter if you are or are not a Red Sox fan because the bottom line is if you are not a Yankees fan then you will always hate the best so I am quite use to comments like yours. Its repetitive and shows how jealous you are that your team lacks championships. The llast time I checked winning is the objective to any game you play.

  • @TexasPuertoRock Why would I be jealous of a team that has won 1 World Series in the past 10 years?

  • @BonhamRox You would be jealous because 27>7. Also the Yankees won the AL East title 17 times compared to the Red Sox 6 times. The Red Sox has more times in las place than the Yankees. Also the Red Sox just can't beat the Orioles to save their life.

  • @TexasPuertoRock Funny thing is neither could the yankees (cough* cough* Sweep)

  • @xClassiK Lets see as far as I know the Yankees were never swept by the last place Orioles. I can remember exactly on the date of 5/2/2010 the Sox were swept by the last place Orioles in Blatimore. Go do your research before you make a fool of yourself on here. Don't worry the next world series win for the Sox will be 2093. Your great great grand kids will be alive to see it. While the Yankees will tack on another 30 more rings with back to back wins from 2012-2019.

  • @xClassiK in reality if you watched the game you would would accually know that the yanks got swept by the o,s and btw why is a ny fan watching the 2004 all over again?BITCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @TexasPuertoRock I guess you can't read. I said I'm NOT a Sox fan.

  • @TexasPuertoRock Yankees couldnt beat em Rays couldnt beat em texas couldnt beat eem.neither could the red sox idc. This year is over next years a new year

  • @xClassiK And Next year the Sox will be in third again and get swept 5 times as they do every year. It would take another miracle for the Sox to see another world series championship. The first thing they need to accomplish is getting past the first round.

  • @TexasPuertoRock every year? lmao you have noticed youre watching a red sox video?

  • @xClassiK I don't need to watch a silly video to know that the Sox sux. Just knowing the simple fact that they had to wait 86 years and depened on the introduction of the wild card to win a world series tells me that. You Red Sox fans are so pathetic holding on to 2004 with dear life because winning is so foreign in Loser Nation. Trust me the Houston Astros will win 12 rings before the Red Sox wins 1 more.

  • @TexasPuertoRock hahahahahahahahahahah funny rangers fan are you?

  • @xClassiK Rangers fan? Where did you get that idea from? I'm a Yankees fan get it right!

  • @TexasPuertoRock were did i get that idea from? TexasPuertorock you retarted?

  • @xClassiK I grew up in New York!

  • @xClassiK Born and raised in Texas, Grew up in New York. I rep Texas all day everyday.

  • @TexasPuertoRock all you pathetic yankee fans are the same, "well we have 27 championships no big deal" guess what no one cares. You see that's not baseball, what baseball is are teams that use their farm systems and create true teams and fan bases. If the yankees lose a couple games in a row all of sudden no one shows up to their games, because new york fans are pathetic and un-loyal. Get over yourself the yankees are fake and dont deserve to exist. They make baseball boring.

  • @lawrence1234ful Since when was winning boring? Getting a championshp is not baseball? What the hell are you talking about? The whole point of playing baseball is to win. No oine plays to lose. Yeah we have 27 rings and you Red Sox fans have your little 2004 victory that you all love to bring up over and over again. What you guys fail to realize is that if it wasn't for the introduction of the wild card 2004 would not have happened.

  • Bill Simmons was the brainchild behind this 30 for 30 idea. It's no wonder that of course there is a Red Sox moment and it happens to be the 04 ALCS. Wow, I didn't see that coming.

  • dear anti sox fans,

please don't come on this video chronicalling a historical moment in sports talking about the red sox being overpaid or them collapsing, unless you want to be extremely disrespectful. it's those kind of insolent people that make the world worse.

    sincerely,

    red sox fans

  • Still get chills.

  • Then the flood gates opened up !

  • Probably the greatest comeback in the history of American sport.

  • i know dave roberts didnt play for the red sox for 10 years but number 31 should really be retired

  • @rabidsquirrelfur how u didnt beat the red sox and after down 3-0

  • After"The Collapse", I think us Yankees fans have finally had revenge.

  • i bet you were really proud of yourself coming onto this video just to leave an anti sox comment finally. good for you.

  • @nictwss i think youre proud of yourself for calling yourself a red sox fan. i'd be downright embarassed with myself to worship one of the most overated sports teams ever.

  • @rabidsquirrelfur I wouldn't say they were over rated, The Sox cleary showed what they were capable of from May-August, they just didn't want it bad enough, or at all. This is nothing new for a New England/Boston sports fan, they all seem to lose in the most soul crushing way possible. I'd take a late season collapse over a 3-0 collapse anyday.

  • Comment removed

  • @rabidsquirrelfur where is your "revenge"?

  • @ilikepuppies99 3-0 loss= 20/7

  • are you all fucking retarded the red sox regular season collapse is nowhere near as bad as being up 3 0 in the playoffs. in the regular season other teams play a role in playoffs its just you and your opponent so theres no fucking excuse for not closing out.

  • What should be the next 30 For 30:

    "9 Games Up"

Chronically the collapses of the Braves and Red Sox after both being up 9 games in September.

  • @comedychrises only if St. Louis and the Rays go all the way... maybe.

  • @comedychrises that'd be good, the second and third worst collapses behind this one

  • @comedychrises Or how about "21"

The difference in World Series wins between the Yankees and the Red Sox.

  • @coreyrando27 Or the ruining of the baseball. The over payment of every player which lead to what is one of the most over paid sports of all time. Staring the Yankees

  • @Zaku493 Or "How Teams Get Money" By being good and having a large supportive fanbase that has lead to the wealth of the organization.

  • @coreyrando27 How to buy 27 champion ships starring the Yankees

  • @Zaku493 Funny because the Red Sox tried and failed to do the smae thing in 2011.

  • @TexasPuertoRock We traded for Gonzalez first off and for what we traded for him, of course were gonna give him an exstention. The only guy we bought was Crawford. Jenks was a relativly cheap pick up for a setup man who can close. Wheeler was worth what he was paid. Just wasnt used well. So no we werent buying a championship, we were filling the blanks. We needed a left fielder and a bullpen.

  • @Zaku493 If the Red Sox weren't trying to buy a championship then why did I hear the Red Sox owner John Henry during an interview on Fox Sports Network say that he will spend whatever he has to so that they will win another workd series? Sounds like buying a championship to me.

  • Sorry buddy boi, but if the mankind woke up, they'd know the Sox didn't "collapse". THe Roidees threw away the FINAL 3 GAMES of the season to the Rays, to get the RAYS into the playoffs, the definition of SCARED LOSERS! And both of them COLLAPSED in the 1st round for nothing, that's what you get for playing dirty! As for the Braves, who knows what happened to them, but the Sox are one of the most underrated and powerful teams in the league and you all need to ACCEPT it.

  • *mankind

  • Dear ESPN, Would you be so kind to make a documentary on 2011 Red Sox season AKA the most Epic Collapse of them all. It would definitely be worth watching as the whole country could once again see the team everyone predicted to be the best in AL if not the majors, to win it all and then to just fall apart. Thank you,

  • @Jeopar4ly i never heard anyone say they were the best, they fluctuated all year

  • @JusticeCN I'm not sure what you watch on TV or read and quite honestly don't care... but i will definitely never forget this and i will be LOL.

  • boston fans>yankee fans

  • One thing I remember about this moment was the four Red Sox fans who were beating on the wall rhythmically, just adding to the tension. EVERYONE knew he was going to try to steal second, there was no question about it...what was it like 10 or 12 pick off attempts?

  • I am a white sox fan but this is the greatest postseason series in baseball or in any sport ever. it is even bigger than any other WS, LDS, or LCS that has ever been played

  • @jro222 obviously

  • still gives me chills!!!!!!

  • i remember when mo came in the people in front of me got up and left and said, "well, maybe next year" never saw them again

  • Bill Simmons...YOU DOG!!!

  • I got chills just watching this.. fuck the yankees!

  • i support two teams the red sox and whoever beats the yankees

  • Thanks Dave for opening up the Floodgates ! Honorable mention goes to Bill Mueller for owning Rivera not only in this game but the winning homerun against Rivera the game when Veritak slapped A-Rod.

  • 2nd Greatest moment in Red Sox History

1st-Back to Foulke. Red Sox fans have longed to hear it: The Boston Red Sox are World Champions!"

  • I love Posada expression after it was called safe

  • @juanvilorio93 Yea Dumbo's ugly puss.

  • this isn't the greatest come back in baseball history... it's the greatest comeback in the history of all sports.

  • I remember this like it was yesterday

  • remeber

  • gives me chills when i watch it!!

  • @DA6AME SAME!!!!!!!!

  • I've been blessed with the opportunity to meet him twice, first when I was 14 and this past Sunday at the Padres/Giants game...he is by far the nicest and most honorable man that I have ever met. Not only was he kind enough to sign my hat, baseball, and take a picture he actually remembered me (then again who could forget a teenage girl who bursts into tears when she saw him waving at her and then cried even harder when he hugged her and gave her his armband =P) Thanks Coach Roberts!!

  • Millar walks and what is up with that? Roberts goes and he is safe. Then the Yankees started to bleed RED and couldn't stop it.All the weight was lifted.I notice Schilling was bleeding but he was also bleeding RED.

  • i smile every time i see the steal thanks dave

  • still get chills EVERY time I see this

  • Thumbs up if you're watching this because you wanted to see the yankees loose...

  • @4SquareLegend2 i bet he cant

  • Epic moment! Wow.

  • Millar is right, as great as that steal is, it means nothing if Mueller doesn't drive him in

  • what the song name at the end when roberts scored???

  • Kevin Millar, Dave Roberts and Billy Mueller turned winter back into summer with one wave of the magic wand.

  • lol did anybody else notice at 0:43 said to get my slow butt off these fu.. off these bases lol

  • What i would do to have been there in person <3

  • @HaydenSousaFaggot69 LOL good one

  • Comment removed

  • I remember praying to god that night and the next 2 games...Game 7 was in the bag before they even threw the first pitch.

  • Unbelievably close! I watched this from my brother's house after being arrested for a dispute w/ my dad (long story - we got into a fight & only I got arrested even tho he started it) ANYWAYS I remember thinking oh man this day has been one of the worst days of my life and now the Sox might get swept, BUT then Millar gets the walk, Roberts steals, Mueller gets the run in and then in extra innings Papi wins it with a crushed homer! I was so happy and didn't care what happened earlier in the day.

  • @413hey wow that sounds epic no joke

  • @MrKnight1500 yeah it was a crazy/awesome time

  • I was 9 when this happened so the memories are scratchy and I had to go to bed early at times but knowing I lived to see them comeback 3-0 and win the world series means everything

  • I'm an Cleveland fan...and I've envisioned our breakthrough going down with similar drama to this series. Dave Roberts steal of second was quite simply one of the greatest moments I've ever witnessed in sports and you dont have to be a Boston fan to appreciate it. EVERYBODY in the United States knew he was going and he took it anyways. You almost knew at that moment they were going to come all the way back and win the series and the championship.

  • Watching this clip and reliving it all over is orgasmic! Seriously...wow.

  • Bill Simmons and Lenny Clarke? Lenny has done more drugs in one night than Simmons has his whole clean squeaky life.Odd pairing.

  • What a friggin throw by Possada. Dave was safe though. JUST in there.

  • i person is a spankee fan

  • i was 5 years old at the time all i remember is sleeping and hearing my dad yelling and screaming "they did it they did it" and does anyone kow what the song in the clip is called

  • O man, I can't watch it often enough! Go Sox!

  • The ONLY thing that would have made it better, was if Yaz was still on the squad. If anyone ever deserved a Red Sox World series win it was #8.

  • @dunskie #8 and #9. Nuff said.

  • chills....

  • ive been a red sox fan all my life and i will be one for the rest of my life but no moment in baseball will ever come close to bieng as great as this

  • I wont lie... I was glad they weren"t going to go out like bitches.... wow was i suprised they won it all !

  • I was a teenager at the time of this...

And my Grandmother, a lifelong Yankees fan, was in the hospital, needed a new heart valve.

Longest four days of our lives, and what did we turn to for an escape from all of that real-world tension? THIS!

And as the Sox came back over 4 nights to do the impossible, my Grandmother made it--and told us all she could hear HER ENTIRE FLOOR OF ELDERLY PATIENTS SCREAMING AND CHEERING AS THE SOX BEAT THE YANKS!

    I'm a Mets fan--BUT THIS IS SPECIAL!!!

  • I was 12 years old I remember that year and that series like it was last week...2011 is gonna be our year guys! Only a couple more weeks til spring training!

  • Dave Roberts cemented his place in Red Sox lore for all eternity with that stolen base. Anytime he comes to Boston for whatever reason, I guarantee you he doesn't have to carry his bags. There isn't a single member of Red Sox Nation that wouldn't carry his stuff around with a smile on their face because of what he did that night.

  • this is the type of stuff little kids dream about playing whiffle ball in their backyards

  • expect more from where this came from, Yankees fans. ellsbury and crawford..... ;)

  • safe.

  • @ddoggs2008 dude are u fucking blind its clearly not an out he was safe dude DEAL WITH IT

  • @ddoggs2008 You're right. Let's just hope everyone else is delusional and will overturn the fact that the Red Sox STILL won the next 3 games and the Wankees blew it. He was safe. The Yankees lost. Get over it.

  • 4 days of hell

  • What is the music being played when Mueller gets his hit?? It's awesome

  • no one gives credit to bill mueller

  • I think Liverpool fans can related to being down 3-0, coming back and winning it all.

  • @RollOnToVictory no one else in america gets this. but i feel you breh hahah

  • @RollOnToVictory I know what you're saying, I myself wasn't surprised by this 3-0 come back because growing up in Cuba I saw it twice, last year it happened in the finals and quarter finals, but Boston and Yankees..gave me chills

  • cubs fan :)

  • what the patriots have the most wins since the free agent era?!!?!? thats fucking sick.... to bad they went 18-1 and blew the only game that mattered and and blew their perfect season =)

  • @Amendolia37 its ok faggot ill forget about it after we win it this year.. that makes 4 pussy haha and Boston continues to dominate the sports scene

  • GREATEST COMEBACK IN BASEBALL HISTORY

  • @jimidee69 *greatest comeback in history

  • @jimidee69 *Sports History, simply incredible..no words describe those games

  • @jimidee69 A MEN to that, and thank god the red sox won it all in 2004 and 2007. 2011 watch out!

  • @rdsxluvrynkyhatr THEY WILL WIN

  • @rdsxluvrynkyhatr 2011...0-6 start to the season..well done Red Sox -__-

  • @MEGAxxxDETH666 Don't worry about us we get to play the Yankmees a couple games out of the year we'll get our wins

  • @MEGAxxxDETH666 And now 1 game out of first place.

  • @nickjudt The Blue Jays need to get their shit together -.-

  • @jimidee69 sports history

  • @jimidee69 *sports

  • @jimidee69 sports history

  • @jimidee69 greatest comeback in SPORTS HISTORY

  • For all the greatness we build him up to be, Mariano Rivera has cost the Yankees 2 world series championships 01 and 04

  • Hands down best ALCS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is an amazing documentary! I am a Jays fan, but I hate the Yankees more than I do the Red Sox, so reliving that series is great. Amazing baseball drama!

  • ever notice there's a different sound to the crowd in playoff games? you can hear them better and it's more exiting.

  • I still get the chills watching Dave Roberts stealing second, and even more chills seeing him tie the score.

  • Kevin Millar "Don't let us win tonight". They did and it will haunt the Yankees forever. No matter how many rings they have or will get, they will also be known for the biggest collapse in history.

  • Kevin Millar- " Don't let the Redsox win tonight", Yankees did and it will haunt them forever, no matter how many rings they have or will get. They still will be kown for the biggest collape in baseball postseason history and helped the redsox reverse the curse.

  • simply amazing!!!! I remeber it like yesterday

  • 18-1
