thank you for the knowledge i have been making frybread by recipe and you just opened my eyes to just make it from true scratch and forget a written recipe. Now frybread is best that its ever been. Thank you
I loved watching this video, she was a real joy and absolutely delightful to watch.. watching her make Fry Bread her simple way not only made me hungry but also inspired me to get in the kitchen myself and make some Fry Bread with my little girl ;-)
Thank you so much for making this video, you have a wonderful spirit, and you are a genuinely nice lady and it would be so nice to know you. Keep on cooking and making more videos of other treats in the kitchen, I am sure it would be a blast
Helen Roy makes the beeest frybread in the whoooole wooorld! Helen's frybread can turn any meal into a feast. It's MAGIC frybread! It's like Jesus bread, its walk on water bread.

Helen is a natural in the role as an instructor, cook and performer! Someone from PBS's CREATE Channel needs to tap into her wonderful energy and abilities. Thank you Helen for that absolutely delightful demonstration! If MSU eliminates her position they will have done a great disservice to their students!
This amazing woman is my Anishinaabe teacher. She is an ANGEL.
Michigan State University is considering eliminating her course. Any support, emails, etc to anyone that might be able to help or to the administration would be wonderful. Keep the Language of the Land IN the LAND GRANT COLLEGE!!!
Thank you so much Helen - I learned this recipe from Mary Summerlin - Colville Indian Reservation in 1958. So traditional and SO GOOD! She Was my Grandma - not really BUT she took me fishin when I was a Kid! Thanks for putting this on-line so other people can enjoy this very special recipe!!
i make fry bread and roll it out and wrap up hot dogs with the fry bread dough (just make it kinda hot dog shaped) and then fry it...frickin great ...sooo much better than a hot dog bun .. only thing is i would use a little less baking powder if ur wrapping up a hot dog so it dosent get too puffy..i guess its my american take on this wonderful dish
Great video and GREAT fry bread too!! .. Do you find a spoon makes a better bread or a fork? I prefer a fork because it adds some more air to the dough.
Gotta love Cdn baking powder it works GREAT for bannock and fry bread;)
i got lost in this video, this lady reminds me of my grandmother,i love her,she has such a lovely spirit, and the fry bread i could almost taste..thank you
hahaha love it love it - especially the BOWFLEX song......Mauri Ora ki a koe e te whaea e whai ake nei koe i te paraoa Maori
THAT IS EXACTLY HOW MY MUM USED TO MAKE BREAD HERE IN NEW ZEALAND. Then we'd put butter and golden/maple syrup on it and then dip it in cream...YUMMY.
I luv this video, it's very entertaining and educational and Helen Roy has a very captivating personality, thank you for sharing and hope to see more of Helen...she's a breath of sunshine!!!
