I wish all those stupid Nigerians that are killing themselves over religious differences would listen to this song and" suffering and smilling" by Fela.nobody should be killed or terrorized for their religious belief that is actually bestowed upon children by their parent.
Fela was one and only musician whose lyrics reprsented africa and its people,he aclled aspade a spade,in his copy with Roy Ayers he calls it music of many colours,he even collaborated with international artists before,he lived for Africa ,not saying a lot about his beloved Nigeria,He is the emperor of AFROBEAT,long live Fela, political motivated izik,IGZIABEHER.
This lets me know that what I am doing for my people is right and one day there will be justice and a restoring of the African race. Jah Bless and Jah Lives Forever
One of the most powerful of Fela's compositions. When I'm introducing people to him, I often play this as a first track to hear. Thank you so much for posting this. Excellent video.
This song was written after the Nigerian military stormed his commune and killed his mother. In response, he sent his mother's coffin to the military barracks of the general responsible for the raid.
