Actually, Bossa Nova is a form of Latin Jazz, generally speaking. You can have a song with a Bossa feel that isn't jazz, but most Bossa Nova tunes are done in a jazz tradition. By jazz tradition, I mean a written head that's embellished with room for soloists to improvist. Most Jobim tunes are written this way, and this is his tune. He's known as the greatest latin jazz/bossa nova composer of all time.
