This is such BS. If you can't trust your family who can you?
Co-sign for a friend? Hell no.. Co-sign for a family member who has no credit? Sure!
My dad co-signed for me back when I was being paid under the table. To insure he had no credit issues he made all the payments (I just reimbursed him). I reimbursed him for all the payments and ended up buying the car at the end of the lease. I bought a new car so he paid half of the lease buy-off price and we share the car as a spare car for both us
NEVER co-sign for ANYONE!! I don't care if it is your best friend, close relative, whatever...I am paying for 2 car notes right now- guess who is not paying- my two daughters!! No, they are not teenagers either...
NEVER, EVER CO-SIGN FOR SOMEONE, even if it's your best friend in the whole world, or your closest and dearest relative.

I think alot of credit will go away, along with the option to co-sign. Which will be good in the longrun.
