Brilliant. He captures the tortured spirit of Scotland perfectly. A land both revolting and beautiful at the same time, only Jonathan Meades can lay bare the tortuous contradictions of this bizzare country so convincingly. Can anyone take up his geological argument further and reverse the tectonic shifts and re-route Scotland back to Greenland again?
ah now thats not fair, I was up in Belfast last week and it has some fantastic architecture, and even new buildings in the form of Victoria mall which I liked. It is shaped like a cork screw and different to other malls in that it is not heated except for the shops internally.
Great programme though, only seen it first time tonight!! :)
