I'm confused as to why people think the interviewer is being a dick. He can only ask questions about Star Wars because that is the only thing he has done. If he was still acting that would be a different story, but I am confused as to why he is at a convention if he didn't wan't to talk about the only relevant thing he has ever done. They stupid questions was him joking to make it less awkward cause Jake was shutting him down the whole time.

@totallyice I agree with you somewhat, but I used to be a child actor, I dont want to name the films I've been in, But I can say that, having so much money at a young age, and soo much attention, it makes you feel like your on top of the world, and your still young, and your at the age when you shouldnt be spoiled and all this. Then when you get older, you frankly do get annoyed and mad, and you feel like people only pay attention to you because youve been in this or that film.

Sorry folks that interviewer is NOT being a bad journalist. He is just asking questions. He's not in his face, he's not asking leading questions trying to make him look bad. In fact, he's trying to make him look good. He's a bit nervous and this tool is doing nothing to put him at ease. This is not his living room it's a convention yet every time this guy asks him something he reacts as though it was a stupid question. He handled this interview with no class whatsoever.
Lloyd is clearly uncomfortable with his former star status at this point in his life. I think it's deeper than "the star who doesn't want to be known for his old work". He's still a kid. Wow, Jake was horrible! He tried to play psychology mind games with the guy and just came off as a dick. I think the interviewer sounded fine and asked questions any interviewer would. Only at the end did he jab a bit at the fact that he was a child star which usually has negative connotations with it, but that was after the whole horrible interview with Jake giving him attitude for every question. I would have walked away, the kid isn't worth it!

Wow, so people have disagreements and we automatically spout threats about violence. I agree with healthyamerican (hah, that's a great name, btw, i love the irony). Jake seems incredibly intelligent and although he could've been a bit more understanding, I totally don't blame him for it, after all the interviewer made a poor choice by trying to place him in with stereotypes and generalizations. It was poorly handled on the interviewers part.

That final comment about the child stars doing drugs - any need?The smug slack-jawed look to the camera after the question? Even less needed. I think Jake would have been far less defensive if the interviewer didn't spend the entire time with that shit-eating grin just WAITING to make some stupid reply. obviously jake is a normal guy, and hasnt tried to capitalize every second of his life on one film from his childhood. but the interviewer doesnt understand how that could be so. that guy made the mistake of assuming that jake is so full of himself as all the rest of hollywood seem`s to be. so the awkward part of this interview is on the iterviewer`s side, and not on jakes. jake didnt play the guy`s game. good for him!

Ok I see why people think he's a jerk, but come on. He's basically just a normal guy. He gave up acting a decade ago, and just now starts feeling up to like a yearly interview, and everyone gives him smack for it. So maybe he doesn't have a shining personality--it doesn't mean he's a dick. He's just a normal guy who has a normal job now, and happened to have an abnormal childhood. I bet if you talked to him about something related to his life now, he'd be much more interesting to talk to.

@totallyice I agree with you somewhat, but I used to be a child actor, I dont want to name the films I've been in, But I can say that, having so much money at a young age, and soo much attention, it makes you feel like your on top of the world, and your still young, and your at the age when you shouldnt be spoiled and all this. Then when you get older, you frankly do get annoyed and mad, and you feel like people only pay attention to you because youve been in this or that film.

Sorry folks that interviewer is NOT being a bad journalist. He is just asking questions. He's not in his face, he's not asking leading questions trying to make him look bad. In fact, he's trying to make him look good. He's a bit nervous and this tool is doing nothing to put him at ease. This is not his living room it's a convention yet every time this guy asks him something he reacts as though it was a stupid question. He handled this interview with no class whatsoever.

Lloyd is clearly uncomfortable with his former star status at this point in his life. I think it's deeper than "the star who doesn't want to be known for his old work". He's still a kid. He won't even be drinking age for a few more months! This reminds me of a real life example of the Shatner Saturday Night Live skit where he said, "get a life people," ... basically, Lloyd needs to realize (and I'm sure he does) that if he's going to go to fan-cons - they see him as 9 year old Anakin. Period

The interview was not awkward in the sense due to Jake Lloyd. The one conducting the interview was horrible. He was coming off treating Jake as if the Star Wars role was his entire life and that something was wrong with him just because he refused to allow people to assume that his life revolves around that one role even with it being over 10 years ago. Jake has moved on from this role and wants to and is doing other things with his life that he wants to do. Why hold that against him?

Wow, Jake was horrible! He tried to play psychology mind games with the guy and just came off as a dick. I think the interviewer sounded fine and asked questions any interviewer would. Only at the end did he jab a bit at the fact that he was a child star which usually has negative connotations with it, but that was after the whole horrible interview with Jake giving him attitude for every question. I would have walked away, the kid isn't worth it!
