@TheDepressed100 : I tend to agree with you.Evanescence irratates me, they are too overated.Do yourself a favour and take a listen to ARKONA , Amorphis , Antichrissis , Altharya ,AYREON and even Arch Enemy.You will be surprised if you have not heard these bands yet.And this is only a few bands under my "A" section more or less in the same genre I supposed.All brilliant in their own way.Give AYREON - Isis and Osiris " a listen first.SUPER!!!

@girlausaurich Evanescence is an awesome gothic band, no doubt about that. But are they a gothic metal band? I see them more as a gothic rock/alternative/(dare I say it?)pop band. I don't hear the metal.

Tristania definitely had an unique voice, Even though I like a lot of these bands listed, Most of them have the same styleflow as Nightwish, almost the same voice, and so forth, bands that are/were directly influenced by them, I am unable to name any band that could possibly sound like Tristania in any ways, which has been my favourite band for slightly a bit over 10 years with the purchase of Widow's Weed and Beyond the Veil

Within Temptation ins't what they used to... they are still good but not what I would consider metal now.

And please... I know you might like X band but this ins't your playlist, therefore don't make a fuss over it if it ins't in this video. Ok, first of all, with what Within Temptation put up in their last album, i don't really think they should be considered a Metal band, they said themselves that they think that they are more of a Symphonic Rock band, and I never really found a lot in "metal" to their sound.
