@sparty0307 NOT EFFECTIVE AT ALL! I also agree wholeheartedly with Auntfarm. I hate seeing traditional martial arts turn to entertainment. Trying out your techniques in competition and getting in front of people all has its place--but lets not forget what martial arts were developed for. (protecting yourself from death--and if NEEDED--take a life) In TODAY"s society--it is mostly used for Character building and still some self defense..as the need for DAILY PROTECTION simply does not arise.

I have to disagree. No, the moves aren't practical and aren't sequenced with any kata, but the amount of control and accuracy he maintains while doing movements which limit control is impressive. He has an eloquence and intensity that should be recognized. Lets keep in mind this particular tournament probably isn't really focused on practical uses and more than likely showy movements are warranted. I dont think you can adequately judge his teacher by this.

For a person who supposedly has trained 12 black belts and hundreds of kids, you're quite the asshole. I feel sorry for anyone who's been in any of your classes.

Having been in martial arts for many years myself, sure this performance may be unpractical, but to be so unsupportive of a KID is pretty pathetic, especially for someone of your supposed caliber. Very disappointing.

get a grip Dick, Young artists like this are keeping the trad arts alive. Atleast he isn't flying around doing backhand springs and areials. He can still win and stay on the ground. The majority of his routine is still dangerous enough to hurt you.
