"Yep. The future of humans on space has gone from a vision of a guy who likes fo fuck, to a guy who fucked us, to a fuking nut." That literally made me spill my drink in the monitor.
this country along with the rest of the worlds learders has nevr and will nevr reach space because thats not the goal, the goal is to be superior and to have control, dats y so many shuttles blew up, y can't ordinary ppl who work at burger king go c 1 of these launches, it because they nevr happened, humans will reach space when they truly want 2, not when they thin they can pocket tax money.
@ELITEARKANGELShinod1 only 2 of the shuttles blew up. A few of the old apollo capsules burned up too, but they have reached space over 100 times with manned flights and they do infact do science the best. Have a look at some of the hubble telescopes images. Theres a few of them that are absolutel priceless. The ultra deep field is probably the best and most important photograph ever taken.
@ELITEARKANGELShinod1 Your bad spelling says everything about your point. Your just another idiot who thinks hes logically superior to others after coming up with a lame hypothesis with no basis, and then making yourself think its real.
@TheGizmofromPizmo think about it this way. a private venture is putting it's own money into a project which makes it more driven to succeed, whereas nasa is simply using someone elses (our taxes) money so if they fail then oh well we'll get more free money and try again next time.
@jparish62 I understand that, although i don't think that NASA is so cavalier. And I still argue that the main purpose of a business is to make money, and will not be keen in funding purely scientific ventures.
@TheGizmofromPizmo I totally agree. the main goal of any business is to make a profit and i'm sure that would come first above all else if they did take control of the space program. plus think of how much money in taxes we could save and/or redistribute to other sectors who need it more
I like Bullshit but I'm getting a little tired of P&T's oft-repeated dogma that government is bad and private enterprise is good. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, it's not black and white.
Anyways, Richard Branson is kind of an egomaniacal douchebag. All private enterprise has done for space travel is turn space into a tourist trap for the rich.
@geistjagerin Indeed however it may be the only way because we need money to go to space and to get money we need peoples interrests which millionaires are good at. so i agree with you theyr just turning it into business but it will probably be that we see in the future.
NASA astronauts are absolute, fucking heroes...Penn and Teller agree.

Proof that Teller is the smart one.
At aprox. 8:10 Penn tries to re-draw the seperation line.
He draws it to give himself LESS room and Teller more.
I know you can laugh about it Penn.

I'm not saying that it's bad to make money. I'm saying that private businesses aren't necessarily interested in pure science.
TheGizmofromPizmo 2 years ago
It's fine that private businesses want to go into space. But their object is not to develop science, but to make money.

Space is our future. Not just as a country, but as a species. We need to branch out into other planets as a matter of survival.
I say we should be spending 100 billion a year on space and the related research. Give 25billion to NASA and 75 billion in research grants.
That would be REAL long-term economic stimulus.
