Hiking the Cinque Terre

This is great! I am planning to go to Italy this summer, through Genova, and would love to stay a week or so in Cinque Terra area. Does anybody has suggestions for simple apptments to stay? I will travel with two teens. Thanks!

Your video has made me SO excited for my trip next month! I will be traveling from Milano on the train to monterosso and will have my 2 year old daughter. We are only there for the day. Do you think I will be able to do half of the hike with her? What would be your recommendations of MUST DO while we are there? Thank you so much for any and all advice, I want to make the most of our visit :)

this place is gorgeous. Did the trek in one afternoon and man, it was tough but absolutely worth every drop of sweat and extra heartbeat. i would love to go back there again one day and recommend everybody to take a look for themselves if they are ever in Italy

The CT was my favorite part of our Italy trip. We spent three weeks there. Most of our trip was spent in Milan, but I was also able to visit Rome, Florence and the Cinque Terre. We even ran into Rick Steves in Vernazza after our hike from Monterosso. I loved it.

super hot but great hike and a rewarding dip in the ocean and gelato at the end....wet train ride back though?

I know what you mean! I remember the awesome hike, splashing around in the cool Mediterranean ocean, eating a great meal in Monterroso, taking the train ride back and then eating a gelato while watching the sunset in Vernazza. Cool memories!

Wow. Made this hike in June 2004. AGreat hike with my favorite music. I don"t know why Ottmar works with this video, But it just does. Makes me want to hop a plane tomorrow. Awesome post,Gratz!
