I was 14 in 1960 when I started listening to HOA he also sang Only You to the music of Frank Pourcell, can anyone dig this up for me, and again thanks for the memories.
The Golden Age of AM Radio in NYC! Back in the days when radio actually had personality! Growing up in the New York metro area with a transistor radio and the WABC All-Americans: HOA, Ron Lundy, "Big Dan" Ingram, Cousin Brucie and Chuck Leonard ... those were the days ... Hello, hello again!
Thank you for posting this. It's people like you that make You Tube such a success. You think "Nobody would have this, nobody would post it if they did, nobody would be interested." Great radio, btw. Great video/audio job too. THANK YOU!!
Let's go back to 1963, I was 22 years old and recently married. Every morning on my way to work, Herb Oscar Anderson, use to sing this delightful song and always made my day. He brightened my morning and made it enjoyable. I use to sing right along with him and thank you Herb, for making each and every day, a little brighter. I still sang this song over the years, loved it!!! Thanks so much!!!!
WOW!!! I never thought I would ever hear this delightful tune again. I heard it every morning on my way to work back in the 60's. What wonderful memories it brought back. Those were truly the best years of my life. A million thanks to DMORRELL for putting it on "You Tube"
Every morning back in the early 60's we woke up to this on the radio as my dad made coffee and we would have breakfast. Love that Herb Oscar Anderson! What a wonderful memory. Thanks!
Haven't heard this beaut since the late 60s. How nice to hear it again.
A lady DJ from KLBB-AM in the Twin Cities yesterday mentioned HOA's name and it brought back memories. That's why I had to look up this video and greatly appreciate that you have posted it.
Occasionally I see that LP on E-bay. Like to have it myself. He did that album with Frank DeVol,(My Three Sons Theme, Brady Bunch, Family Affair etc etc.)Most people only remember DeVol as a TV theme guy, but he was a great bandleader, arranger, songwriter etc. He died not too long ago if I recall.
Spot On Again! Occasionally he plays that on his 710 WOR overnight show! Slightly off subject, Check out the Joey Reynolds interview with GOD himself, Dan Ingram on You-Tube! I think it's still here somewhere.

HOA "zipped me up" every morning. He recorded an album on Verve records. I'd like to know if it can be downloaded anywhere.

A very nice restoration job on the phono--The great HOA never sounded so good. Brings back memories of my youth and listening to WABC!
