  • So amazing how they burried themselves

  • i just purchased 2 from repticon, whats your recommendation for substrate. some say just sand (emphasis on not sand box sand) some say crushed walnut shell sand. whats your preference, more particularly their preference?

  • @BigJT2010 Crushed Walnut

  • that is so cool man!

I have never seen when a snake diggs its hole!!

    so awesome

  • What a great sand box for u to play don't u think?

  • are they for sale

  • @bambamboston1 Look at the date of the video.... Long sold out.

  • Did you ever had problems with feeding these guys, live or death...

Thx a lot, sry for wasting your time..

  • @bayenne5b No, they usually feed ok.

  • wanna play hide and seek with saharas!

  • I'm impressed. Cerastes cerastes is my favourite snake.

  • do you have your camera attacted to a stick?

  • @coreysm1th No

  • @coreysm1th hahaha!

  • how potent is their venom?

  • @MrPirarucu97 Ruin your week

  • @viperkeeper i meant more does it kill, or is it just painful?

  • @MrPirarucu97 Could kill but very low chance.

  • @viperkeeper You say these guys are easy keepers,

so what is your definition of easy?

Do you never have problems with a feed on tese guys (or a drink)?

Do you never have to help with a shed? Thx! And keep it up, viperkeeper!

  • cool

  • dont touch dont touch

  • its so awesome how they move :D

  • I believe these are in the same Genus as the Adder

  • WTF are you babbling about? Cerastes IS the Genus. The term "Adders" is a non-scientific, common designation that is applies to many Genera of snakes.

  • Reffering to the European Viper - Common name is the Adder, found mainly in the Biritish Isle's and Mainland Europe - "Vipera" was what I was referring to.....So there is no "WTF are you BABBLING about"

  • @Golfer011940 thats no vipera... it is cerastes... european viper is vipera... both are viperinae... but the one is cerastes vipera and the other one vipera berus... berus and vipera are not the same...

  • there are so many of them

  • hi viper keeper i am a big fan of yours and realy want to do what you do because i love animals and snakes are my favorite iwant to buy venomous snad non-venimous but where did you get yours

  • Find some one you can mentor you.

  • Start by finding a mentor in the field. Try to volunteer at a local zoo or aquarium. A degree in biology doesn't hurt either.

  • and these are legal to have in the united states? sounds like that's where you are...

  • Depends on what State in which you live.

  • When you zoomed in close to the sand, I couldn't see any of the ones you pointed out, lol, must be really good at hiding.

  • what can you say about temperament of these little beasts? I want to buy them in next month.

Have you got any problem with feeding?

  • They don't hook and they run like hell...they don't eat well unless you have a supply of skinks. Buy 5.5 and you may get one pair to live for a year or so....

  • it's sad... man who want's to sell me that snake said they're eating well on mice and he is keeping them for couple of years

  • It's possible..but not likely from my experience.

  • VERY NICE SNAKES! And So Many Of Them, Thier Cammoflage Is AWESOME! Is The Side Winder Another Name For A Sand Viper? And Are They A Member Of The Rattlesnake Family?

  • "sidewinding" is a type of locomotion that snakes use to get around on loose sandy surfaces. Crotalus cerastes is the Rattlesnakes from the SW USA who gets his name by using this method of getting around. The snakes in this video is Cerastes vipera a totals different species.

  • Hey Thanks For The Info, I Would Like Some Of Those Beautys!

  • LMFAO! i laughed so hard when ur were like dive captain dive then his head went pop.

  • wonderful video, wonderful animal.

  • hy viperkeeper!

i would like to have some of this animals, but first i would like to know as much as i can about them before i buy even one. if you have some free time, do you think you could write me a mail about how to keep them and how dangerous is the venom what they have?

thank you, very much! tha mail adress is: tuboly @ gmail. com

  • do you still have some in your hands?? if you do are you selling them???

  • No, took me a long time to get them to come out of my hands so I could sell them.

  • Do you use horticultural grit for substrate or what is it you use for your cerastes species?

  • I use 'Zilla' Crushed Walnut for substrate.

  • Amazing, the way they disappear under the sand is the coolest thing a snake could do! You should have more clips of these guys feeding, they're awesome!

  • What really cracks me up with these cuties is seeing the tongue flicking out of the sand - just the tongue.

  • yea i'd like to take one of these little cuties home and cuddle with him in my bed!

  • how venoumus are these snakes?

what made you go into venumus snakes?

i could never do that lol

  • An envenomation by this species will most likely ruin your week by providing a painful reminder not to be careless while working with venomous snakes.

  • wow thought there was just one. :-)

  • Hey Al, love your vid's.

These lil sandys are adorable! It would be verry entertaining and cinamatic to ALL your viewers if you would toss a bunch of pinkies in there with the lil sandy's!

  • Do you keep all those guys in the same cage?

  • Yes

  • is the cerastes vipera and the cerastes cerastes two different species or are they just different names for the same snake?

  • Two different species:

    C. vipera = Sahara Sand Viper

    C. cerastes = Desert Horned Viper

  • and it is the C.vipera that are the supposed "easy keepers"

  • They both can be difficult.

  • they may b cute but not when they bite you lol

  • how many years of experience do you have and how many time have you been bitten?

  • See my video called "Frequently asked Questions"

  • mortacci vostra chi cazzo ce va + in africa!!

  • could you make a V.xanthina video or tell me if you have some already.

  • Okay I will

  • you are amazing! do you have any latastes vipers? if you do could you make a video?

you seem to like the gaboon vipers a lot.

  • I do have V. ammodyties & V. xanthinia

  • These have to be some of the coolest snakes ive seen, this video was awesome. I love the way that they dig themselves into the sand.

  • I have two females, but can´t find a male. Please, give me one of yours! NOW! :)

  • how much?

  • aren't these dangerous to man??

  • All venomous snakes carry the potiental for death but these guys would mostly amount to a very painful experience, except if you were a small child, them it would be more serious.

  • I would like to have some of those, pretty cool little guys

  • Yes, very cool...nice little snakes

  • that rock looks like a heat rock wat kind of heat do u use for us snakes?? o... and dont wallnut shell subtrate cause impaction??

  • I've been using heat rock for years with no problem. I also use Ceramic emitters and heat panels. It depends of the situation. Never had a problem with impaction.

    Cheers!

    Al

  • What substrate would you use for cerastes cerastes?

  • I use this crushed English Walnet Shell substrate made by Zilla

  • awesome

  • Ah ok! ... and do you feed them with lizards or mice?

What do you think, how many lizards do one of them need in a month?

  • I try to get them to eat mice, cuz it's easier to obtain. Depends if they are thin or not...one to two mice per week.

  • Is the handling of these animals difficult?

  • They don't hook wekk at all, so I use a BIG spoon to move them about. These are fanstic, cool little snakes!

  • I have always thought snakes were cool and beautiful and fascinating. It's great to see someone calling them "cute" (which these definitely are).

That disappearing act is the coolest thing ever. It almost looks like you're doing something digitally. :)

  • VERY adorable, if i ever work with hots, i think id welcome one of these

  • The colors of the tail of this kind of snake shows u if it is a male or a femal (i have read it anywehere)... unfortunately I don't know what color belongs to wich gender =(

    so far cya

  • would there be some kind of variation of these found in the sinai penninsula?

  • Yes, There are coloration variations found.

  • fascinating.

  • there cute

  • hehehe i want one:)
