  • THE POPE HAS AN AIRBASE =O

  • 9 KILL STREAK, EMERGENCY AIRDROP <3

  • CONGRABULATIONS!!! YEW GRADUATED!!!! YER FULL FLEDGED TANK PARATROOPERS!!!! *eeeeeeeee!!!!*

  • The guy at 3:36 must have forgotten to strap on his parachute.

  • it reminds me of joint task force pc game lol

  • This tank must be built of paper if it is so light that it can be parachuted.

  • it weighs 17 ton alumamin wasn,t a real good machine

  • what video is this and what year was it made

  • I work on M113. There better then the ASLAV vehicles.

  • Lol At Beanz . Nice Vid BTW

  • 1:23 parachute troops wear a lot of special clothing and are 100% asian.

  • Interesting vid. Provides some special look into airborne operations

  • The M113 don't-call-it Gavan CAN be airdropped like the Sheridan, but doctrine now favors heavier vehicles like M2 and Stryker than are too heavy to airdrop, or swim. So modern US airborne relies on soft skinned hummers. M113 could be fitted with missle or fixed gun to have punch of Sheridan, but again, they'd rather send a M2 Bradley which can't be dropped out of C-130.

  • Hmm, is there a way to make them lighter without sacrificing safety? They could also use c-17's on short run ways, but the 'Dirty Herc' is a well rounded aircraft unlike the c-17....

  • It's a balancing act between armor protection, firepower, and size/weight. I try to explain this to my friends who have no military experience and who want to know why we don't just add alot of armor to our vehicles in Iraq to protect against IED's. As far as just going to a heavier lifting aircraft like a C-17, that would be nice, but for airborne and "expiditionary" ops everything has to fit into a C-130, which is why the newer Stryker is the size that it is.

  • Hmmm, it does make sense. Airborne has to have then ability to go anywhere at a moments notice. So it does make sense why the stryker is the way it is today.

  • @biukucanoe they go and retire a perfectly good vehicle, and now look what they'e doing up-armoring hmv's in a desperate attempt to have some kind of light armored vehicle.. I'd wrather be in a sherridan then a hmv with some steel plates bolted to it anyday..

  • the shridan didnt lose any armor it was made out of thick alumminum so it was light but penetrable by opposing tanks or at soldiers

  • The Sheridan had to lose a lot of armor for that portability. Its really only effective as close-in artillery support against infantry targets that lack anti-tank weapons.

  • True the Sheridan can't take a hit but it can reach out and engage armor at long ranges with the laser guided missle. A match up against an M1 for example, would just be a question of who hit first.

  • The Sheridan's missile is guided by an Infra Red Link, not a Laser.
