This is not a church state issue. It is a good thing to pray for the myriad crimes in Bham(I was held up at gunpoint in January in Bham city limits). I do think this is a pre-emptive deflection because Mayor Langford knew the SEC was gonna bring the chickens home to roost on the shady dealings to raise money for his grand visions.
Get practical & leave your superstitious baggage at church where it belongs. Praying isn't going to put more badges on the streets, fiscally sound management (LEADERship) that creates inner city jobs & wealth is the only thing that is going to alleviate the crime.

Then you get a REAL example of government endorsed religion, and they're nowhere to be found. This mayor is holding weekly sermons on government property. Where are the lawyers? Too busy suing over war monuments shaped like crosses?
