Thanks for sharing this I missed it. I grew up taking photographs professionally, but then stopped to have my daughter Sophie who's ironically in the opening title sequence (in high boots). She appeared on Debutantes as a DJ mentored by Nihal :) I returned to photography within a media course & went onto Westminster Uni. I loaned my work back to college for open day to entice new students & they lost my entire portfolio, incl negs, workbook/design ideas & deconstruction essays. I was devastated!
I needed to take a photo for this artist youtube.com/watch?v=yHoNJsB54mw but i just gotten stolen in the street so i lost the money for the photo. I was wondering if I can use really amateur photos and edit them by myself and have good results. I dont know about photography. Do you think it is possible?
good god stop complaining and go read some magazine like vice and take shite pictures that are considered arty.... and before you get on at me.... i work with them so if you do, then this is almost an argument you cant win. if anyone wants to complain about anything why not just not waste your time and go and work your balls off and make a stupidly good living from photography. go and take your apparent amazing photographs or just take a good photograph . a very well educated cunt
John Rankin Waddell, shat out in 1966, into a toilet in Paisley, near Glasgow. A chainsaw was needed in order to sever his ego-bilical cord from his camera. After being expelled from school for wanking his lense, he studied poserography at the London College of Posing, which he left to found Dazed & Confused assisted by a £50,000 loan from his daddy in which he had to suck some serious cock.
Unfortunately she lacks a vision and a reason why she's taking the pictures. All the best equipment in the world, and the opinion of "master photographer" Rankin (doubtful) does nit make a photograph better.
Go out for a day without a camera and just LOOK at the world around you.. REALLY LOOK at what takes your interest.. what makes you come alive. That and look at the work of others constantly.
Don't get hooked in by the "glamour" of being a so called celebrity photographer.
Ha this is actually the most pointless argument ever. Everyone is free to their opinions so just leave each other be. Fair enough if you're trying to get a point across but many people nowadays are too arrogant to change. Have fun arguing over whether camera models or skill is the most important while others are actuallt out taking photos... bye!
Film in theory because its analogue. though when you transform an image from analogue to digital you loose all the quality, depending on how you digitize it. But over all on the basic level, film is better quality because its analogue.
When are nobs going to get it.. Which camera's you use dont make a difference. She has far more serious issues to overcome before a better camera would help.. Spoken above like a true newbie "Hanzakbar"
No never said best.. So that is you "Trying" to put words that didnt speak into it to cover up.. If you spent half your time of reading forums and the new specs on a the new canon gimmick to get your money you might actually know something. LoL.
hahaha.. If you spend half of your time learning about photography, you would know how good Canon DSLR's really are. Minolta ohh lemme say Sony (the company which has taken over Minolta) sucks big time. Because (1) They have Tamaron lens as standard (2) Fu*ked up focusing (3) Noise
Now you can actually take those DSLR's and become the best photographer in the world. Because right now that place is taken by canon and Nikon users..
Once again you prove my point.. Some nob that 90% current on the latest Camera Tech or info and spec sheets but has about 10% skills and pays about 10% of that energy actually learning about photography... Guys like you are so so slow to actually get it. Thats why your just a amateur and always will be. I been shooting canon for 12 years now before I switched from Nikon systems which I used for 6years. I would put a good photographer with a minolta or polaroid against you anyday he would bet u
Dude its so so over your head... You speak like a true Gadget nob... Not a photographer as any real working full time pro would tell you after seeeing your comments. Your the guy we laugh at those trade shows.. While you are reading the latest tech specs we are out there working... Any working pro could run circles around you if they had a Canon or Minolta or even a Olympus point and shoot.. Talent is no measure for "Camera Tech" Put that to vote in PDN and most would laugh at you for asking.
hahaha.. If your camera is not capable of providing such thing you expect.. i.e. Olympus compact .. hahahahaha.. then you are the one to laugh at..
By the way, ofcourse you must have won billions of photography awards as it seems like from YOUR OLYMPUS COMPACT ... hahahaha .. Any image gallery that a Pro photographer like you can show me with your minolta or OLYMPUS COMPACT.. LMFFAO
Like I said.. Me or any pro would be the LMFFAO as I said its way over your head.. Why because your NOB... The typical newbie wanna bee photographer that reads forums for hours on end and reads spec sheets all weekend on his time off from his day labor job.. Its completely clear by your responses so please save it.. Your embarrassing your self.
Hanzakbar, you have just outrageously embarassed yourself! I bet you hate people like Terry Richardson and Jurgen Teller. Listen to what these people are telling you; it's not about what camera you have, it's about your skill. You're essentially saying that driving a Ferrari around a track WILL make you post a quicker time than driving a Mondeo! With a professional driver behind the wheel, yes, with an amateur who only cares he's driving a Ferrari but can't keep it on the tarmac, no.
With regards to this camera vs photographer arguement I think I'm going to say that there is a half-way point. Ideas come first, because you can't do anything with a camera if you don't have ideas, but they go hand in hand, because if you plan on creating a certain image then you need a camera that will enable you to do so, but even then, it is heavily focussed on the other things like lighting, scenery etc!
If you think photography is about what camera you're using and you don't appreciate and/or understand the importance of style, substance, lighting and all the other things that make a good photo, then you are and always will be (unless you learn to change) an amateur! If that's all you want to be, fair enough, but if you want to compete at the top, you're going to have to do better than rock up with a 1Ds Mk3 and declare yourself the champion. Because you WILL lose to someone with a compact.
If you need a 'team' around you, you are lost.
