the coolest thing caddy could do right now would be to make a RWD 225+" car again to properly distinguish itself from 'germans'...Americas Maybach bring it back w direct injected LS
i have 3 green fleetwoods 2 of them are delegance in my 8 cadillacs i have..yours is very nice, mine are emerald green both have 75k miles and will be refinished in a couple years
the Rockies it would pass everything on the road without adjusting the carburetor! Loved that car. It had ABS brakes and they were its eventual demise as it cost too much to repair when the car had 208,000 miles on it! I had a lot of fun and enjoyment from that car!

Absolutely beautiful Brougham!! I had a'73, Sandalwood color, every option imaginable. Car weighed 5700 lbs. Had the 472 and only a air pump for emissions. Compression was 10.1. That car was fast and powerful. Had a gauge on the dash that was supposed to be an economy minder. When you floored it, it would dip way down to the low economy position, then when you let up it would return to normal. Was simply an engine vacuum gauge. It was set for standard elevation. But when I drove it in
That looks awesome. Those were one of the best cars ever made and when Cadillac made real Cadillacs too. Not like today. Those are really getting rare now especially the ones with the 500 in them. Those big Lincolns and Cadillacs from the 70s were the last great American cars.
Gorgeous piece of old school American luxury. These cars were great to take road trips in when gas was $1 a gallon. They were easy to drive, super comfortable and very spacious.
@mutasim0hourani They made DeVilles, Calais, Fleetwoods and Fleetwood 75s ( limos). The Calais was the bargain model, followed by the Devilles. The Fleetwoods were the top level sedans and were slightly longer than the two previous models. There were special trim levels you could buy with your Cadillac: d'Elegance, Talisman, and Cabriolet. Check out this link for more detailed info:
@wurly164 True-these do attract attention. I bought her from the original owner years ago with 33,000 miles. She runs perfectly out here in high altitude but didn't run her best in CA. I think the jets in the carb were for higher altitudes.
@spangelosf43 I got mine this spring from the estate of the original owner, I took the carb off and had it rebuilt and took the tank off to clean out, but it was spotless inside. Its just a shame that they detuned this engine for emissions. When it came out in 1970, she put out 400 hp and something like 585lbs of torque, ours have 190 hp and 360 lbs of torque, but they still ride great.
awesome condition of this '76 fleetwood...............
