They trained with weights because they need muscles. It is a lot of training for sure. It is such a beautiful sport. I particular like when is the team I think when is double is a little empty in the pool. Russia is so creative team.

They're using a technique for their highlights that I´m not used to. It seems to be a combination of a cheerleading throw with one girl's feet supporting from underneath.

Has anyone used this technique with non-olympic athletes? Are there any tricks or important principals to keep in mind?

yea, my team uses it. We find it to be much more effective to use a "basket toss" and have a tem member underneath pushing with her feet as well. She's in a tuck and then straightens out to add extra push. But we also have a team member supporting that girl, to make sure she actually striaghtens up, not down. It takes a little getting used to at first, but overall gets the flyer much higher if it works for you.
