  • The Northern Mockingbird is my favorite bird! We have several, but there's one special one that has made a home in our holly tree in our front yard! I love listening to it, and although we can sometimes hear them during other times of the year, they are most active here during the summer. I love when they go on for very long periods of time and I could listen for hours! I'm so glad you posted this clip! Great sound quality, just wonderful! Thanks!!!

  • @robslilspink I like the long songs too. I find it interesting all the different songs they make. Thanks for the comment.

  • very nice thankyou

  • I had a few mocking birds sing outside my window for a long time... they loved to sing at night :] at first i couldn't sleep but then i got used to it.

  • this is outrageous....in the middle of the night? When I hear them in the middle of the night they wake me up..something magical about it. The neighborhood here has gone silent hearing this as I play it loud with windows open LOL...no one knows who this new beauty is....love it.

  • wow. that is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

  • LOVELY SONG. I SEE MANY M.B.'s IN THE HEIGHBOORHOOD AND HEAR THEM A LOT , ESPECIALLY IN SUMMER NIGHTS WHEN THERE IS MOON....SOUTHERN NIGHTS !

  • I'm supposing this bird doesn't wake up at the crack of dawn.

  • Great video! Very informative. I look forward to the return of my mockingbird in the spring. He sings all night outside my bedroom window, and during the day he sits on an electric pole watching me work in my garden.

  • Honey, let's bring out the shotgun!

  • I was listening to this while drawing...it got annoying. XDDD

  • These birds are so arrogant and they ward off other type of birds trying to fellowship in my yard. Something's gotta change.

  • The ones around my house start at about 11:00 PM and they go all night until sunrise. They come in early summer and raise hell for about six weeks or until they find a mate. They nest in the trees around the neighborhood and raise their young, so we can have a fresh batch next year. Not my favorite bird, their OK.

  • I 've lived in Southern California my whole life. Recently a mockingbird started, singing at night, and I had never remembered hearing it before. It actully helped me relax and soothed me to sleep. It didn't disturb me at all! Unfortunately, I don't hear him anymore, and wonder what happened to him. ( I hope my cats didn't have anything to do with it) I miss hearing it sing it's lullabys. In the meantime, thanks for sharing this soundtrack of beautiful singing!

  • este es el video de entrenamientos de mis paraulatas que bueno es

  • yea i hear them singing at night reallly awesome.

  • Great photos. :-)

  • I also have a mockinbird that showed up 3 nights ago, and now is coming back every night, making it impossible to sleep. If I play your video, will he think that another bird is there and leave????

  • This little beauty has been saranading me at my place of employment for the passed couple days. You want to talk about brightening my day! I was thrilled to find this video on here. Thank you for sharing!

  • i was listening to music and a bird was attracted to it and then i googled bird calls, found this video, and the bird outside my window perched on a telephone pole (turned out to be a mocking bird) got super interested and was calling back as i played this video super loud with my window open - this video is a good bird watching/ listening tool! thanks :)

  • @jimbotro Wow, that's pretty cool. Glad you got to experience it. Thanks for the comment.

  • thank you very much for sharing this recording

  • @godsune You're welcome. They sure can sing.

  • Amazing. From Mexico, the land of the 400 voices bird. Zenzontlatole.

  • I've grown up with them also; they're our state bird!!

  • @kipl8 They are our state bird also. Love to hear them sing, very entertaining. Thanks for watching.

  • @Veggie978 Wow, that's pretty cool.

  • @Veggie978 ive got a mockingbird too!! he can't feed himself yet, so im doing it for him:)

  • They are very tasty sauteed in butter. Just kidding. I grew up with mockers..always loved to hear them. But not all night.

  • so if you used your camera why no live shots of them "dancing"

    they jump like no others

otherwise, how perfect is this!! thank you--ringtone anyone?

they are freakish in that they never seem to repeat themselves

they are the coloraturas of the bird world

  • @hausercyn Because it was around midnight, too dark. When you see them jumping they are catching nearby bugs.

  • thank you woodenarrows -

  • it's a very clear recording. how did you make it?

  • @elfteacher The bird was in a tree just outside the bedroom window and it helped that we live in a quit neighborhood. If you listen closely you can hear occasional traffic in the background. I actually recorded it with my digital camera. I just set the camera on the windowsill of the open window.

  • "...when a mocking bird sings, for all we know its pitching fossils into the air...who knows what ancient sounds of creatures we may be hearing out there."

  • This is the best thing I've ever heard on You Tube! Thanks for sharing the beautiful and amazing sounds of the mockingbird's repertoire. It is my all time favorite bird and to find this has blessed me beyond measure! Excellent clarity and pure joy . . .

  • @naturejane48 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

  • Love it lol i here them on my campus as i walk to class lol..

  • *~Wow~! I had a large Mockingbird do this last Spring here in southern California.

We spent many sleepless nights together~!!! LOL~!!! Thanks for the video...awesome.

The Mockingbirds have a Neat Story behind them...singing up to three dozen songs.
