My father did make me the man I was then.... a far better man than I am today. The mess I made of my life since he died was totally down to me, for he taught me better.

My Dad died November 16,2009 unexpectedly .Igot a call saying to call the hospital it was urgent . The doctor informed me my Dad had died . The hardest thing I have ever done was call my sisters to tell them. I still miss him dearly .My aunt sent me this sing . It is beautiful and comforting.

this song is truly one to make anyone, even the strongest, shed tears to think about how much you really do care for your father, be it how much he may seem a complete pain in the backside, you dont truly realise you really did need him until that day does come...

My Dad died November 16,2009 unexpectedly .Igot a call saying to call the hospital it was urgent . The doctor informed me my Dad had died . The hardest thing I have ever done was call my sisters to tell them. I still miss him dearly .My aunt sent me this sing . It is beautiful and comforting.

I lost my dear Dad when he was only 47 years old, back in 1963. I miss him today as I did that day. I have such wonderful memories of the time we spent together. I was his first born and a daughter, but that didn't stop us from sharing baseball games, etc. We were so close and he was my hero. RIP Daddy...I will always love you.

The emotion with which he sings this is well justified.
I understand this concert was shortly after the death of John's father, who he said was his chief teacher and mentor.

I love this song, heard it first shortly after my father passed in 2004, my dad would take me walking the roads and fields near home in Ireland, showing me things and I suppose teaching me a little of life. And I miss him, the old man. RIP Dad.
