About two weeks ago I heard this version for the very first time. I was spellbound and still am! I've known and loved the song since long, and I adore Billy Joel. The combination is awesome! I like his expressive version much more than Elton's.

@lyricistgirl Yes....NOW. Elton's voice isn't nearly what it was in 1973. But there's no comparison to Elton's original 1973 version

@lyricistgirl - The orignal by Elton was better but in the last few years or so, Billy does it the best. Elton doesn't have that vocal power that he used to have in the 70s and early 80s. Billy still does. So I do agree with you and then again I don't. It depends on which version you are talking about. The Elton from the Lp, the Elton from concerts from 70s to early 80s, or the recent Elton.
