what i do is wrap a belt around my foot and grab it with my dislocated arm. i raise up and put slight traction on it. then i slowly rotate my wrist forward and it usually pops back in. i just had surgery today to fix it but ive been dealing with it for years. goodluck
hey sir, i just have an inquiry im almost on my 3rd month post op.. did you experience morning shoulder stiffness in the course of your recovery? im somehow experiencing it every morning and i am still not able to fully externally rotate my arm.. my stiffness shows when i raise my arms at around 170-180 degrees but after a while of stretching the pain disappears but if i externally rotate stretch my arm it really is stiff and it hurts everytime i stretch it.
I have huge problems with my shoulder (right one) it pops out every week or so,the first time it poped out i did a big mistake and didn't went to hospital but rather adjusted it myself.I have no problems with lifting heavy, but i can turn my arm in a rather limited angle.
And yea i got a operation in two months, seems they cut the loose part holding the two bones (not sure on english terms as its not my native),but as far as i heard it takes only a week to recover and its only a minor operation.
i recently dislocted my shoulder and really upset about it, its much like of being hadicapped, im doomed,
anyway, if you dislocated your shoulder just send me a message, i really want to benefit from your experience, as already worried about it, the internet stories are crazy, you read how many times people re dislocate their shoulderss..
I'm 22 years old and both of my shoulder dislocate frequently ... It can even dislocate while I'm asleep. But still I manage to do a lot of diffrent sports and take the risk. When one of them dislocate, I put it back by myself (I learned how with a doctor). And now 2 weeks ago, I Had an operation (bankart operation) on my right shoulder, My shoulder should be like a new one in 6 months if I do all the physio and exercise.
hey there.. i also suffer the same fate with my R shoulder and is post op for 7 weeks now... im just curious you may be at your 3 month post op now, Have you gained full range of motion yet by that time? im just worried coz im on my 7 week now and im having difficulty with external rotation.
I'm now at 3 months post-op as you said and yes i've gained full ROM. The external rotation was the hardest ... so no worries just do all the physio. exercise and it will be all right. My shoulder is a lot stiffer than it was, which is a good thing, and life's better now, i start running and should be able to swim in a couple of weeks. So no hurry it will all comes back to the normal within a couple of weeks for you too, just dont go too fast, be patient, and do you're exercises.
tnx!! i really hope i would also be able to have full rom in 3 months! I really hope that it will not reccur for the both of us.. BTW, is it alright for us to be swimming a lot? would it not damage again the tear?
no, it will juste reinforce it, my surgeon said that at 4 and half months post op, there is no probleme for swimming (freestyle, not butterfly). Im pretty confident with this new shoulder ! Don't hesitate to write back if you have any issues with you're shoulder.
ahhh. i see.. just freestyle? cause i also dislocated my shoulder while swimming, damn i panicked coz i thought i was gonna drown.. haha luckily that was a pool so i just walked underwater till i could reach the edges and there i popped my shoulder back.. hehe btw how many sessions per week are you seeing your therapist? aside from stretching and excercising everyday
@wilbolat I'm 42 and my left one dislocates all the time. At first I could bang against a wall and it would go back in but now I have to lay on the floor while my husband puts a pillow under my arm, lies opposite me with his foot in my armpit then gently puts increasing pressure on it till it pops in. I'm scared one day there will be nobody around to help. Can you tell me how you put it in yourself? Do you bend over and put your arm between your knees then slowly stand up?
i think i dislocated my shoulder, i hurts but no so much, how i know i injured my shoulder? and how i can fix it? im in a mexican mountains and there isnt doctors. so please sombody tell me.
