Please support this amazing aircraft. If the project closes at the end of February, she will NEVER fly again. Go to her website and make a pledge, everything helps, and forward the appeal video to all your contacts. Thanks
What a beautiful, incredible, inspiring sight! Thanks to everyone involved in restoring 558 to flight and keeping her there for the last 2 years.
If everyone who saw her fly last year and everyone who watches this video donates just a quid to the cause then she'll continue to amaze literally millions of people for years to come.
Moreover, it is about preserving aviation history, a worthwhile cause whether the aircraft be British, American, Russian or whatever. People such as myself have and will continue to put hands in pockets to support this aircraft because it is loved so much. As for old...well yes it is. However the venerable B-52 first flew in 1952 and its not only still operational, it is being re-engined and prepared for at least two decades more service. 2 million a year is a lot, yes. But worth every penny.
Not wishing to start an argument tradbgon, but I'm an airshow enthusiast and a lifelong Vulcan supporter. This is more than just an aircraft. It is an absolute thing of beauty. An engineering triumph (bear in mind it first flew 10 years after the Lancaster did, and in the hands of a good pilot would outmanoeuvre an F-15 Eagle at altitude). It is a British icon, a statement of what we as a nation can do (used to be able to do, some would say). Just watch the reaction of people who watch it fly.

Nice! But...at what cost? Is it worth TWO MILLION POUNDS ANNUALLY to fly it? Vulcan Operating Co told Lottery that airshow fees would pay all costs for sustained operations. Now, we're finding out that's not true. Sorry, guys, but TWO MILLION POUNDS ANNUALLY was never gonna come from airshow fees. A blind man couldda seen that before you started. I seem to recall the RAF retired it because, aside from being old, it was also EXPENSIVE TO OPERATE. VulcantotheHANGAR!
THE VULCAN IS Aviation :D always will be. We do need a sponsor but the only prob with that is they will wreck her. I meen they will paint there shitty logo on her just like they did with the sea vixon ????? WTF I hope she stays alive. You have my support.
i saw her at RIAT 09, all i can say is she is amazing. The vulcan being at riat was one of the main reasons i went. Also i saw her in formation with the red arrows at Dawlish seaside show. At riat i was lucky enough to get the guided tour and stood a matter of feet away from here, unfortuantely my camera lens was faulty and the photos didnt come out right... i simply have to see her one more time this year!! :D vulcan to the sky...
Sadly, it wouldn't have the same effect. The Avro Vulcan is one of the most maneuverable subsonic bombers today, and is delta-winged to boot! The concorde was suersonic, but it was merely a passenger jet. Nothing 'oohs' crowds like an ultra-fast, ultra-maneuverable icon of military technology.
i am so sorry for smeato09 last comment it was my pal messin about with things on my computer i am not going to be a sponcer for the vulcan in 2010 but i hope they get one beacuse i love it i am so sorry my friend made it up he is no longer my friend beacuse of this i mean why would someone do that i hope all of the public will for give my x friend thank you and may you all have a merry chrismas
Saw XH558 earlier this year in August, at the BTCC/WAC, such an iconic and wonderfull machine.. the roar of its 4 Rolls-Royce Olympus 202 jet engines is completly awe inspiring (my mum and my sis! 4:32! im just off camera shot unfortunatly). the crowds were dead silent through out its 10 minuite long display... Gotta love her. ill donate what i can for this beauty. but everyone needs to chip in. do not let 1 of the most iconic models in our skys go to waste! please donate what you can.
Was working at Bruntingthorpe a couple of months ago, she flew overhead, I had no idea where she was going. But the crowd of customers (around 1,000) stopped and admired. A truly breathtaking sight.
Nice video. I really enjoyed watching it. I am running a marketing campaign to start a large auto detailing chain corporation. I would really like your assistance in building this enterprise. Let me know what you think by checking out my channel. Thanks
Lovely to see at Fairford last year, if a sponsor can't be found maybe if everyone visiting an airshow in 2010 gives a quid on the gate for the Vulcan that might do the job.
I can't believe that on a cloudy Sunday afternoon XH558 flew right over my head while I was standing just outside my back door here on Romney Marsh. It was totally awesome and I felt so priviliged - just that sound, then the shape. Support the 50th anniversary, 25 May 1960.
I saw XH558 at Leuchars air show this year, truly amazing!
I just wish Health & Safety, and their insurance company let it use full power more often!!
I also know that the Vulcan's electronics officer at Leuchars this year was one Barry Masefield, who was the AEO of XH607 during the 1st Black Buck mission
A british icon shes beautiful

She needs peanuts compared to the banks but she is Brittish excellence and this government hates anything like that.
Lets prove them wrong again.

Why the hell won't the memorial flight take her on? She needs that kind of protection, and she more than deserves it.
