  • Wow, great to hear all the comments from old Sacto people. I went to Rio Americano, gratuated in '71. Tim Schmidt's dad, Danny Schmidt, was my second guitar teacher, my first was Tiny Moore. Tim Schmidt, George Hullin, Ron Floegel, and Tom Phillips were the New Breed... my 7th grade band, Zhem and the Rest, openned for them at the Cottage Park Rec Center...anybody remember those days?

  • You're right...I forgot Redwing...I think I have that album somewhere. Don't remember The Breed, though. Oh well, don't remember a lot from that era. This was the only song of theirs I remember well.

  • Ah, nostalgia. They were called the New Breed back in '65-'66, then the Glad. Always looked forward to their shows at the Door in Reno. Funny how I remember such trivia. Schmitty should have used some of these songs when he went solo.

  • Yes!!! Thanks for this beyondthebeat!! You are mostly correct HiflyinLo, but weren't they The Breed between The New Breed and Glad?

I think TB Schmidt left Glad and they became Redwing--a very under-rated country rock crew...if you can find their first album do not hesitate to snatch it...very similar and equal to Poco...where TBS ended up...then of course the Eagles.

  • Excellent! I just bought this single on the Diplomacy label. Sounds even better on the hi-fi cranked up loud than it does here.

  • New Breed practice singing I used to listen to them when I was in the 8th or 9th grade .. the band let us listen to them rehearse .. You see they rehearsed around the coroner from our home behind arden fair Mall--I thought It was so great --that the band let us come and listen to them --the band practice in a house the home is still there I wonder if Tim ever went back to house the home is still there /oh well fan 1965

  • You must live in the 'Arcade' are then? They were big time in Sacto in 65. I used to drive up to see a lot of local talent in clubs at that time. I remember them as The New Breed though, not The Breed. And yeah, it is indeed Tim B. in the lead.

  • This is The New Breed featuring Timothy B. Schmidt, later of Poco and still later with the Eagles. A classic slab of garage.

  • Yeah, they went to American River College in 1965. They played at my high school in Lodi in late '65....Where the hell is Lodi....

  • I was either 13 or 14 and they used to practice down the street from my moms home behind arden fair mall back in the 60 and my friends and i used to listen to them sing and also green eyed woman they were great back then

  • Great clip! Weren't they called the New Breed? I live in

Sacramento and have another of their records called "Fine With Me".

  • Yeah, they went to AR in mid 60s..

  • thanks a lot for this classic us garage track!

another one i never thought i would ever see...great!
