Olivier Messiaen - Theme and variations for violin & piano

Wow, for many things it's freaking and almost frightening how similar to Oistrakh's she sounds... She could be his daughter : ) I heard many of his pupils and never found they sounded that similar (well, maybe Oleg Kagan in some things).

I'm new to Lydia Mordkovitch's playing.

Guys, have you watched the clip of David Oistrakh? Both of them almost played in the same tempo but you just aimed to critize Lydia? You are not dare to critize Oistrakh because he is a master, right? Come on, be fair, don't take any double standards. For me, I think it would seems like dragging the song if it is playing too slow. Take a bit faster would be more proparate.

My compliments! Very souple and colourful tone. And compliments to the pianist as well.

I just heard the Argerich version of the piano part, which is more impressive. However the sound is very nice and transparant.

Maybe a little more breath here and there in the violin part.

And indeed, and i'm almost sorry to say, the end is really too fast, however it almost works near the last bars, =but no=
