Smoking used to be an acceptable thing. In fact, it used to have amazing art on the packages, which I think was fantastic. It annoys me now that I can't look it up on Google images without hundreds and thousands of these little "Anti-smoking" messages on them. This is being taken too far, this has become disgusting and wrong. It's time that people start setting their priorities straight. I know I'm not really talking about ads here, but if you'd like to send me a pm I have something to show you.
@TynanAed What do you think of the Quit Smoking campaigns? I've just posted a couple of ads. I find it a little insulting that the Government is happy to gain tax revenue while smokers die and clog up the public health system.
and with that, I believe that the second ad was no where near as good, nor do I think it was as clever. There's nothing like a little granny swearing at a child, and I think that as the first ad leaves you with a vague sense of intrigue, you'll be directed to the site due to the absence of anything more other than the back drop on the screen after.
in short it ends abruptly, and pleasingly.
I'd feel annoyed having to watch the second ad on tv whilst waiting for my program, it's a channel changer
@TynanAed In Western Australia we had a business called WA Salvage. Their ads were always cheap and nasty. Their tag was 'we're not fancy, but we're cheap'. I remember them to this day. Some of the biggest budget ads I've ever seen are long forgotten. At the end of the day, if something is memorable, it's good. Even though something good may not be memorable. What's the most annoying ad you've seen?
Did I double post? D: anyway, I think the ads that they make are rarely bad unless they're serious, I mean- why can't ads entertain us, as well as ask us or try to convince us to buy something or do something? I think that it's generally because it is easy to do it the thoughtless way, rather then working on an advert that people will actually love to see time and time again.
It all falls to the target market, and in the choosing of the target market.
I love it all around, and I think that you don't get the credit you truly deserve for such a helpful posting of videos, and.. what's this? You can spell?
Well sir, I commend thee. (Wishes there were more) you can't find season 3 properly, what a jip, right? The Gruen nation only offers you sappy pitches, all of which are supposed to be commended because politics are "serious". And Wil Anderson is totally not a metrosexual. ... at all. .... LOL
@TynanAed Thanks for the appreciation and the observation about my spelling. It would be poor form to analyse other communications, when there are mistakes in my own. I thought the swearing geriatric was hilarious, but what were they selling? A mistake made in so many ads; remember the ad, forget the product. The second ad was awful, but effective. That's what it's all about. What do you think?

Well, I think the most annoying ad's are those "Spreading awareness" about drink driving, alcohol consumption, rape, and spousal abuse.
Those are normally the ones you change the channel for, especially in Australia.
