  • I am half English and Half Indian and I have quite an English sense of humour. I told my uncle (he is Indian) a joke, and here is what happened:

    Me: Why are pirates pirates?

Uncle: I don't know, why are pirates pirates?

    Me: ...because they arrrrrrr!

Uncle: *laughs* Oh that's a good one. I've got one for you - Why is Tara Tara?

Me (my name is Tara btw): ....?

    Uncle: ...because she is!

It just goes to show how different cultures have different senses of humour. :)

  • @BizarreBeetroot Thanks for your contribution, Tara;-)

  • you are man , you live in Australia

  • nice

  • heres one for you im not sure if its bull***T or just an urban myth but we'll leave it open for discussion

during the early exploration of australia in the times of captain cook and joseph banks the later being a botanist many new and stange animals were being discoverd and an aboriginal was helping to find and describe these animals.now im not sure if its the emu or kangaroo but when the aboriginal was asked what animal is that he replied with "kangaroo" which translates to mean I DONT KNOW

  • That's a really good one, noofy13!!!

    Thanks

  • I researched your anecdote noofy13 and yes, it is an urban myth that refers to kangaroo. However linguists believe that

"The word kangaroo derives from the Guugu Yimidhirr word gangurru, referring to a grey kangaroo" (Wikipedia).

It is a good anecdote though and I'll be using it in my next film. So thanks again
