I am thinking about having surgery , since my last baby I lost about 50 or 60% of my hair due to some kind of autoimune disorder, along with thyroid, fibromialgya and lupus among others things. I am even more concern about diabetes and heart due to family history. I feel that this is my choice to be healthier... I have heard about the hairloss with the surgery .. have you experience any hairloss, if so, did the hair regrow? and how? I am very worried about it. I'll appreciate any info. thanks!
thank you so much for posting this video!! im 20 years old and started having pcos symptoms 2 years ago. ever since i was 7 years old my hair falls out and will not grow and it sheds like crazy. im wondering how you lost the weight and stopped the shedding?
@Lynnmist well I went to the doctors and I get them taken in the treatment room by the nurse they're looking for hormons and PCOS. Just go to your doctors and they will probably set you up with blood test then you go back to them for the results and then they can let you know know, help you with steps and what to do next.
I think this is what I may have. I've have trouble with endo, firboids, and cystic ovarians for the past 15 years. Now they have me on a shot to keep my fibroids to a minimum, but my hair is falling out like crazy. I don't think that's a side effect of the shot, and I have acne appear still and I'm in my mid 30s. I have gained weight and tried losing but it never goes away. I've seen pics of examples of how abdomens may look with it and I look exactly like that. I need to talk to doc about it.
argh its frustrating to me bcuz I do have PCOS the vitamins I've been taking are helping me get my monthly period without having to take birth control pills. But I have 2 symptoms that are rly frustrating...acne and hair loss and im not over weight im actually quite petite so losing weight for me isnt a solution im losing so much hair its so sad =\ Im glad I was born with alot of hair or I'd be nearly bald by now...I just dont know what to do.
Knowing you are not alone gives some relief. Is such a difficult thing for anyone, but especially a woman to lose hair. Glad I found your video, thank you. I have been losing much hair this week, and with some other symptoms, really down about it...not many peope know what pcos is, and it is hard to explain to children why you (I) look different. And hard in general when in a world pple are judged on apperances Hard to feel stuck with this, am searching out success stories for encouragement
Unfortunately body weight is not a good (if any) indicator of PCOS. A colleague of mine has it, who is thin as a pole. Her only other obvious symptom is acne, but no body hair, or kinky hair or hair loss. I'm not big either, and my insulin is out of control. Just need a final test's result to know whether I have ovarian cysts.
I hate pcos. I have it too and alllll my hairs falling out more than half already. Even with all that hair loss your hair looks great and thick. Wish you the best !!
.. too much testerone that why i had an absurd amount of body hairr. i have 2 tke the pill 4 21 days thenhv a breka 4 1 week so i cn have my period- and then we'll see hw my hair reduces my isulin reduces my mass reducess. but i ttly understand u. i have a friend whu's cus has it and she says shes ok now- but i cnt really tlk 2 my friend abt it cos she doesnt understanddd..!
hey this is exactly hw i feel! my body hair is huge and thick yet my head hair is thin and keeps on falling owt im fucking pissed. I was diagnosed with pcos a few years ago at abt the age of 11-12. When i found out abt it i didnt react- i just researched alot. I had laods of tests and now am on the pill. I had a hormone level test and apparently everything is normal- and i felt like swearing at the doc cos he was basically blaming me and saying when my hormones were normal when obvisily i had .,
Hi hun, I have huge bald spots, but I'm happy to report, that with diet it's slowly growing back. Some places it grew back completely. Just keep fighting! don't give up, there are answers out there. We just have to be diligent.
I got a blood test for it and the doctors said I need further testing so I'm having an ultrasound soon. But I'm really upset because I'm only 14. I have confidence in you. Good luck always.
Henishii: I know it's a tough diagnosis, but count yourself lucky that at least you know at such a young age. I think I had already had this at your age; I knew something was fundamentally wrong, and all the gyno did was put me on the damn pill (big mistake).
well that's where I am now trying to decide if i'm just gonna go ahead and have the lap band surgery, I think it's so unfair that u try to eat as healthy as possible and still not lose the weight, I too have never been a big eater, so unfair!! I'm thankful for the ppl who understand just what I'm going through
I also have pcos finally somebody who understands what i'm going thru. i also feel i have to explaine myself but no body has ever heard it even some doctors. I feel you. I was diagonised with it my senior year in high school and i'm now 30. i finally have had enough with all the syptoms all the trying to lose weight . so i ended up doing lap band. thanks for the inspiration Maritza
omg that seriously happened to me about 2 weeks ago. I had to take scissors to it in order to get it all off. I'm 18 and was diagnosed with pcos about 3 years ago.
wow. it is so great that you know at such an early age about your PCOS. I didn't get diagnosed until last year at the age of 34. I could have saved myself so much trouble if I had known earlier on. My biggest advice to you is to eat as though you were diabetic...meaning really really eat as Little carbs (white bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) as possible. That is what has made me gain so much weight. Our bodies do not work like others. The best to you and Happy New Year. Thanks for watching!
@allforliving; It is good that you are trying to fix the issue, but in addition to what you have already done -there are also other natural solutions to this condition.
Oh my goodness. It was kid of shocking to see all of that hair. Well, I have full confidence you will do great and meet all of your health and wellbeing goals in 2009. -Mia
I want to say thank you very much for posting this video and mentioning your contion.. I am sorry you and your daughter are going through this.. But now I will be asking my specialist when i go see him the 18th of this month if this could be the reasonings behind certain health issues and massive hair loss and thinning this year...Take care keep safe of yourselves always... Kimberly
I'm a soul cyster, too! I am glad there are so many of us in the WLS community. None of my friends or family has ever heard of PCOS. It is hard to explain because of its complexity. Glad you can relate.
yes, it's really tough when friends and family don't know what you're talking about. they always ask what it is, but you can see them tuning out as you try to describe it. It really IS complex, isn't it!?
wow, this is sooo true but i'm tired of talking about it now, I have lost so much hair that I look like a cancer patient, it really looks like male pattern baldness, I'm at a lost now I don't know what to do, I wear wigs and weaves and everytime I take my weave out I break out into tears, and forget about trying to lose weight, I barely eat and still can't lose anything, it really sucks
so sorry you are going through this too. one of the things that frustrated me so much before my surgery is that people didnt understand that I had never been a big eater. I know exactly what you mean by not being able to lose anything.
Hi April. I relized i haven't said much about my PCOS lately. Definately alot better. Facial hair hasen't improved though. Going to start laser soon. I've lost a ton of hair but most people can't notice. When you have dark thick hair like ours it seems to be easier to handle. You vaccuum does look alot like mine.
I have PCOS and I know exactly what you mean about the hair loss.I see hair everywhere in my house.I was put on Metformin which is generic for Glucophage,or is it visa versa?
Anyways, that medication is known to cause liver problems, which it did in my case.I no longer take it.I am losing weight and eating in such a way that will help my PCOS.
Thanks for making this video and raising awareness. :D
I totally understand about hair loss, I have a thyroid problem. I lose my hair every two to three months. It used to be devastating but now it is just a way of life. It falls out and then grows back and I am stuck will all this new hair growth. Don't get me wrong I am so happy it grows back. It's just crazy.
Well at least you have a full (beautiful btw) thick head of hair. I think you will find you won't notice much more hair loss than you do now because I think hair type has a lot to do with it. I'm almost 6 months out and haven't lost much hair at all. I have thick hair so my normal shedding is all I do. Hopefully all that hair is a family collection? Looks like you can make a wig. lol!
Thank you! oh and no this isn't a family collection! It's all mine and maybe just a little of my daughter's. She's almost 15 and has just begun shedding too, but not nearly as bad as me. lol at a wig. I know it! It looks like a whole head of hair doesn't it? gosh!
wow..what she lost is just about what I have left in my head...sigh..

all these symptoms can be cured with a healthy raw food diet.
Watch foods that kill on utube by dr chivers i think. One doctor that doesn't use the knife straight away.
