i spent 4 months in sea cadets and 7 months in air cadets their all shite as for army cadets my unit was so small i left after one day i wish there was a bigger better army unit or even a royal marine cadets unit but honestly cadets is shite especially the atc and the bent sea cadets fucking pussies the best units are in England and Wales and im in bloody Scotland if you ask me dont bother joining cadets unless their marine or a big army cadet unit most likely in England or Wales

Well you dont only have to do first aid you know, field-craft is optional aswell but you need to be a certain star eg 1 star 2 star so on.

Nice photo complication mate! BZ from me! I myself have been a cadet in both the ACF (left as a master cadet CSM) and the ATC (IsntCdt Sgt) and now am a member of staff with the SCC. One of the 1st things my cadets are taught is the importance of tri-service co-operation and how one of out armed forces cannot operate without the others in support, and the same applies to the cadet forces. All of us set out to do the same job: to train young people, just in a different uniform in a different way.

i was in the ATC, and it's shit. if could go back i'd choose ACF, purely because they get to use weapons on exercises. know what we got to do? tap enemies on the arm and say, "you're out". weren'r even allowed to rugby tackle them -.-

@jas881 I was in the atc from when I was 13 and a half, until I was 18, I used .22 air rifle and an l98 cadet gp rifle, I used these on exercises.

As for the game, what is the number one thing we never do with a gun, we never point it at another cadet, as if you accidently keft a bullet in there and fired, you would regret it.

I agree the A.T.C can do better, but they haven't got as much funding as the A.C.F so we are stuck on that one until we get more funding.

@matty14071991 i went on 3 exercises and didn't even see a weapon. on easter camp 2011, at catterick, coz i'd never shot a rifle i had to do a first aid course instead, i was pretty pissed off considering that was pretty much the reason i went in the first place

@jas881 The reason for that is simple, First aid is a big part of the army and air cadets, as what do you do if a man goes down, you help them, if you waited, you would of got your hands on a gun, you can't expect them to give you a gun straight away, its like giving the talibans an atom bomb, as you don't know what they will do with it, if you come from a background where someone in your family has used a weapon illigally, then they will keep them away from you, until they can trust u.

I went to a ACF detachment tonight and said that we wanted to sign in as cadets, a old man told us to wait and he would help us, then after 5 mins a other man came and asked what we were doing, so we explained and he said OK, and then a 3rd man came and asked what we were doing, we explained and he said that we cant join the ACF because were 16, he said there will only be 2 years for us in the ACF and we simply cant join, he said it was because of the principals

@adflwf I think you have to be 17, maybe your righ im not sure but I've also just started college so I can't just man up and join the army, As if I havent though of that, And for me as a 16 or 17 year old to join the army I need my parents/guardian signature which i won't get as my fosterparent is all againts the all the military's and also had problems with me wanting to join the cadets.....

@nzman101 come to england then im in cadets in carlisle we do lots of great stuff alot of drills and we go to the firing range using blanks we do training excersizes in the woods and it is dangerous a friend of mine chucked a gas grenade at my other friends head by accident when it popped he nearly got knocked out or summit lol he had to do loads of press ups and he is quite fat
