  • ahhhh... Though I am 14 and a teeny i REALLY like that stuff!!!

I hate mainstreem, that's real dance, and must have been soo funny.

If I had the chance i would live in the 50th ^^

  • great song

  • whitie's shit... hahaha but cool!

  • When they played this at the cinemas in the fifties they had to cut the sound to stop people from dancing and ripping the place to pieces. Awesome!

  • i have sm peen blues >_<

  • Wow, cool!!!!!!!

  • that looks sooo awesome i want to dance now! but i would probably kill my girl doing this XD

  • Bill Haley is the first dinasty of rock and roll. His crown was stolen by imposition of all media.

  • Pop music is shit... Rock and roll is better!!!

  • this is great.... you can even hear the dancers shoes hitting the floor.... great arrangement of a Little Richard classic that I think he would even like....Go man Go!

  • \o/ isso sim é música!!!! quero aprender a dançar assim ^^

  • Certainly and lot of jumping going on. BH is def the godfather.

  • Sweetie, I'm 72 years old, saw BH in Germany back in the Dark Ages, married an American and ended up teaching my son how to jitterbug in the 70's for 50's Day at his school. He couldn't believe his Mom could ever move like that :-)

  • they're probably more like 16-17, not 25. because at 25 you were married with a couple of kids back then. and yes, they looked more mature sooner back then too.

  • now, this is real dancing none of this fuckign club grinding bullshit lol i clearly was born in the wrong era !

  • these fuckers sure could dance

  • OUTSTANDING, but I'm worn out simply from watching them!

  • The dancing is fantastic! You would nevr see that today. These young people could really move!

And the music is great too. This group really was the very best of its era.

  • say wat u want haley WAS the king or rock and roll

  • white people have so much to be thankful to black people for....dance, style, music, culture.....where would they be??

  • I still have my Mom's original 78's of this, and Rock Around the Clock. Lots of fads come and go, lots of plastic, fake performers have their 15 minutes, but, REAL Rock N' Roll will never die!

  • fabuloso video

  • Was für ein super Lied!

    Ja, dies sind die 60er....

  • @SuperPiett

Es sind die 1950 er. Bill Haley coverte diesen Song von Little Richard 1956.

  • Awesome! Now that is the jitterbug and jive done to perfection - love it!

  • 1993 was only about 45 years too late, right?

  • @T8Demonica your a looser in math ! lmao

  • just a couple of years b4 my time but what great music by the way i was born in 1958 ,but i grew up on this music ,and i still love it today.

  • aprendan los de ahora, como se movian los muchachos bailando, especialmente los pasos. No consideren como tiraban a las chicas al suelo.

  • My Parents still dance like this (ok....a bit creaky... they're both pushing 70)... but it's very true, if you can avoid the alcohol poisoning and drug overdoses, Rockabilly is good for you!

  • this video is a giaaant crack toke

  • I love those pencil skirts lol

  • ACE MORE OF THIS.

  • 50 évek amerikája..lol

  • what for great dancers

  • rock and roll daddy O

  • God bless th 50's.

  • El auténtico padre del Rock a. Roll, aunque hay que reconocer que Elvis lo perfeccionó, superó y lo hizo universal ... ¡gracias Bill, gracias Elvis!

  • X0OOO amazing moves

  • Bill Hayley.. The Real King of Rock N Roll !!!

  • le rock n roll à son meilleur

  • My aunts 74 now, but she's always told me stories about the great times she had in the 50's, she used to love dancing to rock and roll. She's only about 5 ft tall, so her dance partners must have found it quite easy to do all them daring rock and roll moves with her. It's lovely to see the happiness on her face when she talks about those times.

  • In reality....women would have to do this in HIGH HEALS...NOT POSSIBLE.....MENS shoeware stayed the same .. ..what woman went to a dance in slip- ons...or did they change into them when they got there..? FILL me in on that one GIRLS !

  • @harmageden check out "razzle dazzle" on YouTube. One lady's even in a strapless evening gown. So - high heels are a yes. Another one to check out (from the '40's) is from the movie "Twice Blessed" (also on YouTube). That one made a fuss at the time because unmentionables could be seen & for the times that was considered obscene. Look for the version that has Marylin Maxwell singing the song "One Girl & Two Boys".

  • @van2der Sorry - made a mistake!! The movie was "Swing Fever" (1944). Look for the one that's 4:52 long. Another one to check out for crazy dancing is "The Short Maharaja" (1943). The couple doing the honors are Hal & Betty Takier.

  • @van2der ..cheers..!!

  • WHEN FEMALES WHERE SLIM...

  • you got it!

  • those were the good times

  • Dang, that is just crazy! In a good way of course! Gosh, I wish we had this music today instead of modern MTV and Vh1 crud...And that's coming from a teen :[

  • same here. ^^ just love the feeling it gives me

  • Didn't any of that hurt?

  • @TraditionalTKD haha especially the girl that fell somewhat!

  • @TraditionalTKD no pain no gain

  • That's why we didn't need fitness centers and fat farms in the 50's. What memories!!!

  • @billyclayton15 HAHAHA NICE!

  • @billyclayton15 You mean back when kids drank WHOLE milk and drank water from hose pipes and were gone all day on the bikes with no way to contact them (except to tell them to be back for dinner [or you didn't get any!])?

  • @billyclayton15 you wanna tell me that you are like 70 years old? the people in the vid should be about 25 and if you talk about 'memories' you mean you were in the same age as they were in the 50's.?come on your probably some 16 year old guy who like's the style of the 50's,even if he has no idea what they were about.don'T lie on the internet my friend.

  • @06qwert06 What if he is 70 or so? Internet is for everyone, I've never seen age restriction in a site (just for minors)

  • King of the "Country Swing"

  • The Father Of Rock & Roll I sure would love to get up and jive to this man they look so cool!

  • bill just great keep rocking

  • tomorrow is the anniversary of Bills death in 1981 raise a a glass to the original and first KING

  • @PREZ150 ummm, people are tryin t have a good time. wtf with color?

  • Well have a good time.lol

  • yess. peace!

  • these songs are what make life worth while

  • Awosome!! Thanks for the vid!

  • Viva La Rock n Roll

  • This is truely awesome for a Little Richard original. I know that some people are calling the king of Rock & Roll Little Richard /Chuck Berry, Fats, etc but I think that Bill Haley is the originator, Elvis is the king, and the R & B guys (Chuck, Fats, etc) are examples of where the music originated from.

  • @panmandee And Buddy Holly is God.

    Well, for me anyways.

  • FANTASTICO

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEE

  • DONT KNOCK THE ROCK IS THE FILM

  • Does anybody know where this clip was originally from? It looks like it was part of a movie.

  • pouvez vous me donner le titre du film?

    Merci

  • c'est "Don't Knock The Rock"

  • un grand merci.

    jj de porto-vecchio

  • now this is dancing

  • What the heck is 'rit it up'?

  • Rip it up, Look at the title!

  • thats rip it up( or lets dance like were goin to rip up the carpet )

  • This the coolest and you know it!

  • Rock Roll at its best .Your the king Bill.

  • man, these cats can swing!! People who don't like to dance don't know what they're missing!!

  • COOOOOOOL!!!!!

  • Maybe I should have clairfied that by saying his first No. 1 hit was Rock Around the Clock in '54 and Elvis's first No. 1 was Heartbreak Hotel in 56"

  • nanaesq, Rock Around the Clock wasn't number one in 1954. It was first released then and didn't make much of a dent on the charts. It made number one in 1955 after being featured over the credits of Blackboard Jungle. You are right that Elvis really went national in 1956. His first single was 1954, but more of a regional hit.

  • Ah back when white people could dance.

  • If anyone cares - I'm pretty sure that Bill Haley's first big hit was Rock Around the Clock in '54...Elvis wasn't a national hit until Heartbreak Hotel in '56..at least that's the way I remember it on the West Coast.

  • No you are wrong.

Bills first Rock and Roll Hits

were "Rock The Joint" from 1952 and

    "Crazy Man Crazy" from 1953.

But you are right about hitting the top of the charts.

Needless to say Rock Around The Clock

went to number one several times.

    Bill had 18 hits.

  • I like how suggestive these songs are

  • 1:04 throw her down on the floor , get back up and dance some more. LOL !!!

  • I think that Johnny Cash was the king!

  • nowdays its so political correctness, if you threw your woman around like this you'd be arrested for assault and battery lol

  • Now THIS is dancing. None of that "shawty in tha club" crap. This is a good way to spend a Friday night.

  • I agree! :D

  • VidmakerB4 - Yes you are correct - Bill Haley was not the King - but nor was Elvis, how many songs did he compose? - The KING was Buddy Holly !!

  • jammy- as much as I love Buddy, even Buddy knew Elvis was the King. Without Elvis, theres no Buddy Holy. But, if you are going to base the title on an artist's talent as a musician, his influence and talent as a songwriter, then Chuck Berry would hold the crown over them all, including Elvis and Buddy.

  • now today u danced like that on the dance floor they think yah nuts and a croony forgetting where they get the daft moves now makes me laugh all it is out the boobs and the ass .

  • I loved Bill Haley, too..but no way jose was he the KING...Elvis was and still is.

  • oh that was such fun!!!

  • I wish I could build a time machine. Then break it when i got there.

  • back in the day when their was still real music

  • Where do you find white guys, that can dance like that?

  • in the old days they used to rip it up like that all the time

  • That's music, that's dancing, that,s ROCK & ROLL! A great era from a great band. How about a Bill Haley & the Comets tribute group?

  • i love Elvis but this is the real king of rock 'n roll.

    HAIL HAIL to Bill Haley.

    we still love you.

    R.I.P.

  • Can anyone post Lean Jean and Skinny Minnie by Bill & the Comets?

  • Bill Haley is the REAL King of Rock and I shall stand by that statement. Anyways no wonder there weren't as much fat people around, if you danced like that every rockshow you'll be in shape in no time :O. Nowadays it's just retards standing still listening to some pussy rock holding a lighter. Rock has declined to shit.

  • the original true King !!

  • word...

  • i FUDGEN LOVE THiS SONG!! =]

  • Great song by one of the most underrated pioneers of rock 'n roll.

  • R.I.P. Bill Haley

  • when dancing was an art and fun...........

then came the twist and people havent touched since...........:(

  • now that's what dancing should be not that retarded ass shit that soulja boy does

  • hahahaha word

  • those were the days!!! i wish i was there...

  • Haley was rock, not swing....

  • This is awesome and totally rocks

  • 1:23 ... my absolute hero!!!!

  • My favorite too :)

  • badass dancing

  • :~)

  • i wonder why people don't get together like this and have fun?

  • I agree......the world has gone mad....all the fun has gone...booohoo

  • read poppalarge68's comment........that's why.

  • Psssst, party. I might bring a beer! Those were the day's!!!! :)

  • super nostalgie , toute ma jeunesse

  • excelente bailaban el rock antes, ahora puro lo bailan malísimo cuando concursan en bailando por un sueño. Aqui en el video , es decir en aquellos años se bailaba .

  • What film is this?

  • It's from the film "Don't knock the Rock"

  • My friend's g-father was the original drummer for The Comets. He passed two years ago. The are from Folcroft, PA.

  • The original drummer for the Comets was Dick Richards who is alive today and playing with the band in Branson, Missouri along with Marshall Lytle on bass and Joey Ambrose on sax.

  • ORIGINAL drummer for Comets, founding drummer, was Lou "Pop" Rivello. He was unable to go on the road with the band due to a severly sick child, and had to be replaced. Pics and memorabilia survive from this time amongst his family. A great pic of the Comets playing in what looks like someone's house, with Lou and Bill both smiling at eachother, sits in my friend AJ's [Pop's grandson] livingroom to this day.

  • Interesting..but i have never heard of Lou rivello with respect.

  • no one wore high heels it damages wood floors

  • lol back then women were smarter, i think.

nowadays all women wants to dance in high heels.

these dancers are really good, it's incredible how fast they move.

  • I want to learn how to dance swing/lindy hop! Imma start lessons next week!

  • Well, as i said, we jitterbugged like that, with the one exception, not everyone did the flying through the air ,but some sure did,,anddidthey steal the show!!!!!! You betcha!!!!!

  • uh.uh.uh.uhhhh,fantastico,dei veri angeli che volano, fortissimo billy haley

  • wtf they are really good dancers, i wish i could dance like that, i probably can but idk the moves very well.

  • Loads of rock 'n' roll artists covered each other's songs in the 50s. This is by far the best one.

  • i wish there was a town where the whole place is reenacted to be the 50's, everything fifties, even early 60's 0_0 i'd live there

  • What a great idea! Kind of like Branson, MO is for CW...Somebody with big bucks needs to get behind this idea and go! I'd sure go visit and stay awhile. The 50's were different on the West coast and the East coast but they were a wonderful time, no matter where one lived.

  • That bespectacled cat from 1:23 thru 1:41 is way gone! Awesome rock-a-billy sound!

This is from 'Don't Knock the Rock' (1956).

  • haha the sax player is my dads god father. they could really dance back than

  • Wow!CoolYou know him...?

  • the great rudi pompilli !

  • I'm sure those are professional dancers. Your average teenager couldn't dance that good. :-)

  • Excuse me, i grew up in the 50's and yes, we danced liked that!!! still do, though a little slower,,at my age....

  • I grew up in the 50's too but I don't remember anybody being as good as these dancers are with all the flying through the air.

  • I went to HS 53-57 and we had lots of dancers like this but a couple of guys, in particular that could do all of this. One of them came to a 50 year reunion and he still "stopped the show" with his dancing!
