Y'know I've been thinking about that too especially since yellow fever and it seems to me that Sam is sensitive but because he's in touch with all that (centered or whatever) he can let it out and move on through it. whereas Dean is always trying to surpress his insecurities and fears and thats why they come back and bite him in the ass in a major way.

Thats really interesting because I think When the Levee Breaks shows that Sam actually isn't dealing and all season (and prior seasons) Sam doesn't let things out and doesn't move past. Sam is much more likely to encourage Dean to talk about his feelings than do it himself.

you're totally right of course. sam has been woefully bottled up and secretive this season. I was speaking more to what I think of as who he is, rather than how he's been behaving. I mean I think he would have loved to tell dean about the demon blood stuff, if not for the fear that dean would lock him in a room and make him go cold turkey (hey, wait didn't that happen?).

I think I agree that Sam is sensitive and more open to sharing even if he is also secretive and tends to keep things to himself. That sounds like a contradiction but I was thinking that all the things Sam has kept to himself over the course of the show have all pertained to him being different, he keeps it to himself, or lies about it because he is terrified that he IS different or that others (Dean) will see him as something wrong or a monster, which is kind of what happened in the end.
