  • a pandabear? wtf

  • @ 4:06 It's not pc, it's Amiga! ;]

  • Im going to try and run it on Linux using wine…..whish me luck.

(If anyone has done this already message me )

  • seems interesting

  • Just picked it up on Steam cause it looked nice and fun.

On a side note, you guys are releasing this on the Xbox? That is... ballsy as hell. It took me a bit to get used to controlling this game with mouse/keyboard. I can't even imagine playing with a controller. Are you sure it's a good idea?

  • On sale on steam for $2.50 ;D

  • Reminds me of Homeworld 1 and 2

  • Game looks cool. I am glad it came to Onlive. I will be checking it out.

  • If bottom armor is weaker, won't everyone just be flying down on the bottom of the grid (so that the opponent can't get a better spot beneath your ships) essentially making this a 2D game? That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it just seems like the 3D aspect doesn't really mean much.

  • @Szeicheng Good observation. Although this could be fixed by letting ships roll.

After all, there is no 'Up' in Space.

  • @Uncompetative I've just found out that the game provides this 'roll' option.

  • @Uncompetative Oh, that's good to know. Thanks for the info.

  • love it on xbox, whats the song is this though? remeber it from halo's 117 believe monument..

  • @lonewolf56285628 the title screen and battle music are by Chopin. Prelude 15 Raindrop and Nocturn No8 .

  • This looks peaceful and fun!

    ~marioluigi_ml~

  • @4:04 PC!? bit.ly amigaaa

  • This game needs yo merge with the halo universe!!

  • Hmm, it looks kinda interesting, and I like simultaneous turn-based combat.

How does the ship acquisition and upgrading work in adventure mode (or other mods that may have that)? I'd like to know how much ship customization and variety there is.

  • @Soulsphere001 As you meet various characters & defeat enemies, you get upgrades and new ships. Each ship comes with upgrade slots; you can plug in various upgrades to customize how the ship performs.

Try the free Flotilla demo at our Blendo Games site to better see how it works.

  • @BlendoGames

    Thanks for the info.

  • frigit

  • This game is amazing. Had it on Xbox since release, and i still play it today! amazing

  • Dude I absolutely love this game. Play it all day every day, but I made such a huge fleet in adventure mode and right when things were getting sweet I died of a my 7 month terminal illness :(, only dissapointing part, but I do agree it keeps options open and the adventure mode fresh, AWESOME GAME! BUY IT EVERYONE

  • FRIGATE

  • I love this game and Gravity bone plz if you make a Gravity Bone with a whole story and a good campaign it would be a hit on xbl and on pc! The whole odd spy thing with the cute graphics would pull alot of people in on the trial.

  • it looks just like homeworld :o

  • I bought this game for 5 bucks on Xbox LIVE. Indie game for 5 dollars sounded kind of steep, but this simple yet beautiful game is very satisfying. Awkward joystick feeling aside, I felt that this game needed some more money behind it and some PVP would have been nice as well. 5-star game

  • Make this for 3DS, it would be a blast.

  • I'm so glad I bought that game.

  • This looks so random. the music is so out of the place.

  • Looks like a caramellised Homeworld -ripoff for children. The ships look like they've been snatched from kids' toybox!

Really now? Is this all you got?

  • Saw this on GamersGate... color me intrigued.

  • Charming game, would be great to see more games with such combat system.

  • I loved Strange Adventures in Infinite Space. The concept feels similar, and if the gameplay's longer than the 5 minutes spent on each game in SAIS, I will be picking this up soonish :)

  • @Azden392 Give the free demo a spin! Grab it at the blendogames site.

  • it's like a much crappier version of homeworld, a game that is almost 10 years old.

  • wtf is this?!

  • Anyone notice that the PC they used at the end of the video is an Amiga 1200?

  • when we getting a full fledged gravity bone game? haha

  • oh man. this game would be awesome to mod... I want ot see a Battlefleet Gothic mod for it

  • needs a mac version.

  • Just bought it off steam thanks to this video

  • wtf is up with the music? but other then that looks kinda cool

  • @DJBassEnergy

whats wrong with the muisc. not enough ear raping bass for you?

  • @MrGoodDInner

did i say i wanted ear raping bass? i just dont like that classic piano music, it makes the game feal alot slower, and even if it is a Strategy game.. slow is no fun. allso the music shouldnt stop when u make your move. but this is just my toughts, is it wrong to just say?

  • @MrGoodDInner

Btw this is Bassenergy im just on my friends pc and i accidentally clicked the thumb up button on your comment x)

  • I bought this game for my laptop. However my screen does not support the minumum resolution. it starts but most of the left of the game is cut off. i cannot get it to run in windowed mode (that would be REALLY nice). i tried putting the commands in the launch options on steam to get it to run smaller but it could not. is there a config file i can modify or some way to get it to run in windowed?

  • @DOWWADC You can manually force the game to use a custom resolution.

    1. Go to the directory: My Documents/SavedGames/Flotilla/AllPlayers

    2. Edit the file: settings.xml

    3. Find and modify these two lines:

    <VideoWidth>1280</VideoWidth>

    <VideoHeight>720</VideoHeight>

  • @BlendoGames Thank you :D it works great now! thank you for taking time to respoond to your fans! im going to recommend this to a friend right now thank you :D

  • @DOWWADC same, but luckily its just a demo.. don't think i'll be buying it.

  • Kind of reminds me of that fictional space battle game played in Ender's Game.

  • @Limerkoi Omg yeah :O

  • The tragedy of mental illness.

  • Well I have a reason to buy some Xbox points now.

  • It really reminds me of homeworld. Just.... turn based.....

  • this looks like what the army will be using to plan strategies in 50 years or so lol

  • very unique music choice for this game.

  • This looks like HW2, and O.R.B. had a baby, and it's 4d.

  • bullshit

  • Does anyone know what song is used in Flotilla ? I swear I've heard variations of it before.

  • @Challenger117 Chopin Prelude No. 15 "Raindrop"

  • Yesterday, I got this game from Steam and you know what? this game is awesome!

  • This look awfully much like Homeworld 2, without the awesome graphics.

  • The gameplay looks pretty fun. Is that piano music really in the game? Bizarre! Does that represent the mood of the spaceship pilots as they fight for their lives? hmmm...just another relaxing day of space battles, pass the scones...

  • @Geekeric

    Actually, they're passing the crumpits.

  • Looks like a nice game, Gratz BlendoGames!

  • I'd love to see this on the DS - wicked touch screen control and it doesn't look heavy on graphics. Do it you know you want to be able to play this in work or on the bus stop :D

  • Yawn

  • Too bad someone doesnt make a game similar to this, but where you actually control a single ship. That way you could have team battles of capital ships but with more of an action game standpoint.

  • @MorteWulfe Umm... their IS a game like that, it's called allegiance.. >.>. and soon to be Infinity too. buy allegiance is what you would want firstly. (It's free)

  • The gameplay looks absolutly amazing the graphics not so much.

One question why if a ship has weak bottom and rear armor can it not roll over to present its armored side?

  • @valcan321 It's not shown in the video, but there is a "Manual Mode" you can activate to roll your ship to any arbitrary orientation you like.

  • @BlendoGames Oh nice dude. Think i may get it on XBOX360 when i get a new controller i killed my old one :)

  • got the demo, love it! once i get a mastercard....... i think this is gonna be my first purchase

  • its homeworld in Turn base mode lol

  • Its Frozen Synapse....IN SPACE!!

  • WANT. NOW.

  • Did you play this nocturne op.27 n.2 with your feet? xD

Wish you all the best anyway, the game looks quite original. (HomeWorld2 forever though)

  • Homeworld-like-visuals/gameplay = Very interested.

    Panda Bear = Guaranteed Purchase.

THE ABILITY TO HELP PIRATE CATS THAT ARE RUNNING FROM AUTHORITIES = GUARANTEED FIRST DAY PURCHASE.

  • Looks like a lot of fun. I'll be looking forward to this. Is the whole game based on fleet battles or is there any type of civilization mode where one colonizes planets or advances their technology?

  • Want, want, want, want.

    Want now. Give?

  • Hey Brandon, can you confirm if this will come out on Steam for the PC?

    Looking fwd to it!

  • @ungureanudoru Considering most big-budget games cost in the region of 30 times more than that, I think it'd be worth a little more than a measly 2 bucks...

  • Well, then go play Homeworld! Turn-based combat simply adds a differen type of tactical dimension than real time. Each to his own!

  • @WilltheGamer you're missing the point of turn-based games

  • You also wouldn't have to click 20 menus to make a decision, that's why turns work.

  • I kinda liked the menus there. I was just saying why both Turns and Real Time have their merits.

  • wtf are you talking about!?!? theres a menu to choose how to move (attack mainly/move mainly/both) then you move!

  • That looks frickin' beautiful. Really original and pretty art style. Nerdy question, but is this still running on Id Tech 2 a-la Gravity Bone? If not, what did you use instead?

Really looking forward to this :)

  • Thanks. It definitely looks similar to Id Tech 2, but Flotilla uses the XNA framework.

  • @BlendoGames Brendon, a few questions:

What ship technologies are there? Missiles? Beam weapons? Black Hole Generators? (A nod to MOO for those who don't know).

What about shields? You mentioned armor in the demo but no shields. What about Anti-missile defense?

Exactly how customizable will ships be?

Finally, what's the pricing for PC? Hope you'll be on more than one service. I'm shying away from Steam as a service and prefer Impulse / Direct2Drive alternatives (hint hint). ; )

  • @mikepalomino Ships can be upgraded with some modifications, their are Missiles, rail guns, Beam weapons, and Mostly armor though, it deflects and is resistant to missiles. beams.. not so much.

  • @BlendoGames XNA wow......... that is just awesome

  • Add network support to play online and you've got a whole crowd of disenfranchised homeworld fans who would jump all over this. Myself included.

  • play sins of a solar empire at all?

  • countless hours...

  • Goddamnit, anything that is even slightly reminiscent of Homeworld makes me bog down with wanton sweat! This looks great. Out "soon" can't be soon enough!

  • That PC looks suspiciously a lot like an Amiga 500.

  • Yep, I noticed it too: "Flotilla will be available for PC and XBox 360", but it shows an Amiga 500 instead; I guess it was intentional, an Amiga was (and is) a Personal Computer after all :).

BTW, I don't know the reason for the two negative votes; storerestore was talking about the Amiga image at the end of the video, not about the game's graphics!.

  • Looks lovely, great stuff guys.

  • Nice, reminds me greatly of Homeworld. Please release this on Stardock's Impulse if you can (as an alternative to Steam). Thanks.

  • Looks awesome, I hope this comes out on steam soon.
