  • when he came back to find out he had nothing he realised you have to keep going , and make your own path . thats what the ending was about

  • It's actually down the dirt to the north. We drove down and checked it out.

  • OK, cool ... but who knows where the girl's farm/welding shop is?????

  • God your a lucky man to have done that, I envy you, in the right way. Castaway is my all time favourite film and it always will be. A true work of art and of love. I remember when I first saw this film, I was with the love of my life and so happy. I thought I was able to show my feelings with ease because of her, but I was wrong. I wish some people told the truth about love. Some just don't know what love is, I wish she would have known what it was and forgiven me, because that's what love is.

  • hahahah this is crap

  • Just ran it sync with the movie. Searched for the crossing for quite a while on Google Earth..

  • Nice Job!

  • This one of my favourite al l time favourite film endings and I actually prefer this to the original. WELL DONE!

  • I think it is certain he went after Bettina. Otherwise, their chance meeting on the road makes no sense. Also, notice that the last direction in which he looks is the direction in which she drove off. I don't see any other conclusion.

  • 0.22

    HEY, thats not tom hanks!!

  • i lived in that town where that was near, its called mobeetie texas

  • one of the best scene love it.

  • wonderful score.....

  • This is very great done, very very great done! I love it.

  • you should of been holding a volleyball

  • love this song

  • awesome!

  • The journey continues....

  • Nice replication, well acted.

  • Heh. I plan on making the pilgrimage there someday...

  • Ive been down that road before.

    Emotionally.

    Bobby...

  • wilson! wilsonnnn!!!!!

  • hahahahahah this is awesome!

  • Well I had to sync up the movies to beleive it but everything seems to be spot on, the angle is slightly different but doesnt take too long to realize everything is in its proper place from trees to light poles and road signs, marking on the roads etc. Good job thats kind of sweet. I would go there everyday and ponder my lifes tough choices.

  • i wanna go there!

    who's with me?

  • @nanab94 im with ya mate

  • Well done

I think we have all been here, emotionally..........

  • I can't believe there are three towns north of you named Liberal, Hooker, and Beaver.

  • Great Job. One of my favorite scenes ever. I don't know why there are so many hateful comments.

  • great job

  • Wilson!

  • Awesome thank you for the location .... dude abides......

  • thats kool. really fuckin kool

  • Looking at this, the message of the whole film to me seems to be:

Life is open to us. We are free to choose our path. Nevertheless, there is only one person standing at the crossroads. That is ourselves. No one else is there to make our decisions for us. Every decision we make in life is ours and ours alone. And we are responsible for the path we take in life.

We may not be stranded on a desolate island, but we're all ultimately alone in choosing our own path.

  • @wing017 shut up

  • nice job

  • lol fuck yeah, great job guys.

  • Excelent

  • good job, guys!

  • I'm from the town near that. It's Pampa Texas...This scene is outside canadian...let me tell you its a very small, flat place in the middle of nowhere lol

  • hahahahaha

  • great idea !

  • I am driving from NY to this very spot this summer by myself ... thanks for posting ... great job by the way!!! <3

  • Where is this at???

  • @tridentisminty1985

It is in the northeastern Texas panhandle

    The coordinates are, N 35° 38.036 W 100° 27.076, if that helps any.

  • @austencovin I plugged those coordinates in my GPS. I will one day go there, before I die! I will play the sound track with this very same music also. Then I may just put a bullet in my head right there in the intersection this is so depressing.

  • @austencovin man, although it's not original, i still have to say, it's beautiful.

  • I liked it.

  • Woah awesome remake of the scene :) good job guys :)

  • One of the best closing scenes ever, and you did a beautiful job in capturing it. Don't listen to the nay sayers, you were brave and ambitious to attempt this, and it was worth it. You done well... peace.

  • I wanna go there!

  • I dont' understand why he just didnt' make a photo out of coconuts like they did on Gilligans Island.

  • thats cool that you live by that man...

  • brilliant, made me cry again, i cant watch this film without welling up for all sorts of reasons.........

  • Very well done!

  • hahah this is pretty awesome. but this seen was sad

  • for all you cast away fans....it was truly stated that inside the box was a waterproof universal cell phone. No joke. He is at a crossroads in his life. He can go any direction, he looks back at the ranch, ultimately hoping to settle down with the woman. As seen, the husband (other half of her name) was broken off the archway of the gate. The package, if opened could have saved his life. But sometimes what you have in your life, isn't always the right thing. it's fate....spectacular movie

  • dONT THINK The phone would have worked out in the middle of the ocean without a cell phone tower.

  • Woah thats somethin to be proud of

  • He meets a beautiful girl... with the FED EX sign back her car (wings), the same picture he had on his "boat" to leave the island (here we guess the island means Kelly too). He understand she lives where he put down the very package...(the scene before he told his friend "I just have to keep breathing. Maybe the tide will give me something"). He realises it could be this girl. Coincidences you know. This is a very romantic ending. I like that. (sorry for my english)

  • @felixramosbledard Sorry for your english? No need! I didnt see a problem at all. If english is your second lang., good job! Most people on here cannot even type and that is their first lang. lol

  • Man, I'll explain. Tom Hanks put down the only package from fed ex he didn't open to survive. He asks if someone's there but nobody's here. He just wrote near the package "this package saved my life. Thank you", and he leaves. Then he's at a crossroad (what a symbol!) and he don't know what to do next.

  • I never understood the ending to CastAway. Did Tom Hanks take Wilson2 to meet the girl?

  • thats pretty cool .. love that movie! :)

  • Adorei seu video , muito bom mesmo ... adoro este filme ... I loved your video, very good ... I love this movie ...

  • That is so totally cool! Nice job on recreating. I have go there and see it. That is my favorite ending of any movie of all time.

  • Do you eat poo like me? I like poo. It tastes like magic crystals.

  • and to my eternal regret...I took the road less travelled...

  • Comment removed

  • Lol I almost when there and my pal was like, "No, I think it's north..."

I knew I was right... we ended up eating at this place in Canadian with HUGE cakes.... hehe

  • Cual es el camino que debo tomar tu dime?

  • @malg131274

no tu dime mejor que tambien nose cual tomar :P

  • Gefällt mir gut. Nice, well done! =)

  • This is really nicely done. One of my favourite films and a great ending. Terrific music

  • i asket myself

    which way

    i would chose

but i didn tget an answer

    which way did you chose?

  • I would lay down my head in the middle of the road, and die.

  • good work , congratulations

  • that music....from that movie....makes me cry every time....such a great movie...so deep

  • This same crossroad was in the movie Cool Hand Luke also

  • Nice remake.

  • What a charming young man. lol

  • pretty cool!!!

  • Very good job, I can never get tired of castway!

  • Well done!!!

  • Nice going

  • Good job guys!!!

  • Very good!

  • 0.25.... wheres tom gone!!

  • Wow-That was eerie

  • Great!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Good job man....I always loved that scene...Chuck Noland was literally at a cross roads in his life, haven't we all been there one? I thought the movie ended with us all hoping the best for Chuck. I think he went back to the house where Betina lived and is there today, sitting on the porch with her and the dog drinking a cold Doctor Pepper.

    Cheers.

  • @CropDusterMan ....... with lots of ice ! My fav movie of all time. There is so much meaning to the end of this film. It is all most certain he went back to the house to be with Bettina. You could tell when Chuck got back to the real world it was difficult for him to be around people. When he came to the crossroads in Texas he found his "new" Kelly in a unpopulated area for which he had been accustomed to the last 4 yrs of his life. Perfect sound track !

  • @CropDusterMan you know its Tom Hanks

  • Ahora que ya te perdi...Siento una profunda pena...,no se que hacer ...y a donde ir....

  • HA! That is funny as hell, nice job dude.

  • good remake, even better PUMPKIN PIE BOWLCUT! get a haircut man!

  • Great job on your remake!!!

  • i sad ti odaberi koji je put najbolji, jebes zivot :;(((

  • bahahahahahaha nice replication! honestly not bad.

  • life is full of choices

  • witch way to chose, life is random..

  • young tom hanks

  • these crossroads gets me thinking everytime i see this movie

  • @paintball2591 Yup! Same here man! However, you cannot help think of how his life would have been if he never got off that plane. To see his true love get married and have kids is heartbreaking.

  • nice..

  • cool. except the A is upside down in the word Away. but i'm sure you know that.

  • I've got a couple of posts in my blog about the ranch house and the crossroads. If you'll check the "statistics and data" you'll see my blog post where I've embedded this vid. (great job, btw)

  • Gud decent act dude..thankx for not screwing it up...like all those freaks out there....

  • Hey man, you're so cool!! Thanks Tom hans's great acting in the moive, he let me know how to live a wonderful life!

  • wow u actually drove to the exact spot...nice man ...alot of money for this shot here speaking for all the gas

  • Of all the 4 way intersection in America or even Texas I wonder what made them pick this one...anyone know?

  • man, that's so cool! do you live so close to that point?

  • this is the location. N 35° 38.036 W 100° 27.076

  • hey man. where is that crosroads exactly? thanx.

  • i didnt get the ending was he lost after the girl told him directions?

  • ya if you follow the dirt road it takes you right to it

we drove down and checked it out

  • So Awesome!!!!!

  • What is this misic piece? I love it!

and well done btw, very nicely done!

  • Very cool.

I didn't love the movie 'Castaway' all that much when I first saw it but over time it has REALLY grown on me, ESPECIALLY the very last scene.

I just got done watching it again and was curious about exactly where that intersection was so I typed it in and came up with this video which does actually capture some of what I love about that movie's ending. 8-)

  • This was WELL DONE!

  • simple but deep...

  • You did it so emotive, I love the movie, I picture myself in that crossroads whenever I have to make a choice.

  • Great video, congratulations guy...I'm Brazilian and i like castway so much..

  • Wow...well...don't know what to say. They should have movie actors like you...

  • As well as Tom Hanks of course. :)

  • Heh - This is exactly where I'm standing right now,Wondering what direction to take...

I guess we all do at least once.

  • Great video. Where exactly is this intersection? From google maps, it looks like Tx305 and Tx213. The movie says it's on 83 but I don't see anything close on 83.

  • yeah, it is the intersection of two farm roads that are right off of 83

  • lol.

that was pretty damn impressive. it almost puts the real one to shame.

  • By the way, one of the best film endings ever, very emotional and wonderful music!

  • Very nicely done, very simple but highly effective

  • it's a nice shot

  • Excellent Job.

  • I'll add this intersection to the list of places I need to visit before I die. Very nice man.

  • cool vid. whats the song called or does it not have a name?

  • ya the song is called End Credits "(From "Cast Away")" by Alan Sylvestri

  • cool vid man, was a great scene in the film.

id love to see a crossroads as epic as this.

  • Dude, that's awesome!!! Thank you soooo much for sharing this self-made video with us! To me, that is one of the most emblematic moments(if not the most) from this great movie.

I live in Greece, which is an amazing country, but I do admire very much this kind of landscape near your home. I don't know how to describe it.... it just makes me feel fine. :)

  • I love when the lady gives the directions to Mr. Noland...:

"Well, that's 83 South. And this road here will hook you up with I-40 East. If you turn right, that'll take you to Amarillo, Flagstaff - California. And if you head back that direction, you'll find a whole lot of nothing all the way to Canada".

    :D

  • Quality. The music from this film made it a great film. Enjoyed the re-make here!

  • awsome!!!!!! fukkin awsome! it amazes me when i see film sets being filmed!! haha

  • that looks exactly like where the scene was shot too!

  • thats because it is the same intersection

  • hey lovely scene!! keep it up buddy...I find it very philosophical...:-)

  • That's clever and very moving

  • Can someone tell me where this place is ? An address that can be entered in the GPS ?

  • wow this fooled me lol

  • Absolutely applaud you for taking the time and having the drive to make such a clip years after the movie came out. The last few minutes of the film is very moving and you did something here that brings that feeling back.

  • Wooow

this is so awesome, you should be an actor someday...

    Bravo guys love it

  • This music really moves and isnpires. Alan Silvestri really deserved an Oscar for this score. I really think is more about love, destiny and hope. No matter how many obstacles you encounter in life if you have love and hope you will overcome them,If you have love and hope you will see the signs that will build your destiny. When he sees the wings on her truck he knows this is where he is supposed to be....

  • Wait...at the very beginning...how did you get the camera up so high? Did you climb up one of those telephone poles?

  • beleive it or not we put a latter on top of a suburban and i held on for dear life

  • Wow. It didn't look very shaky. You did a good job up there none the less.

  • is this the actuall crossroad where the ending of Castaway was fimed? It looks just like it! thanks! A.

  • yep that is the very same intersection

it is about 15 miles from my home in Canadian TX

  • Just curiuous, but when you saw "Cast Away" for the first time...did you recognize the intersection?

  • well when the movie came out i had heard that the scene was shot out there but it is literally in the middle of no where. We just recently move to Canadian so naturally i had to go find it

  • I'm favoriting this, this is special somehow

  • This scene makes me damn proud to be a texan. Beautiful land to touch by a copporate walmart or something like that.

  • i hear you but no corporations will be touching this land

it is amazingly secluded from everything

im not sure how that director found it

  • oops i meant "not touched".

  • That's actually very cool. I wouldn't know how I to feel if I reached a crossroad like that

  • gotcha

  • great, dont know if ur a fan of this movie but if u are, can u tell me if it is a special feeling to stand there?

    mb

    greetz adam

  • it was most defiantly a special feeling to be there

we also drove out to the house in the scene before it

it was cool to see those wings
