'hamptondude' is right. AFC were 'playing to the whistle'. The ref should of stopped play though. AFC had less than 10 mins to grab the draw they so badly needed to secure promotion and played to that whistle. I was at the game + saw the incident very well. It was very unfortunate + I do hope the Hampton players involved make a swift recovery. I also hope to see H&R win the playoffs, as matches between the two sides are always worth attending. Great atmosphere and an enjoyable game.

As a Hampton fan, i don't see that AFC have done anything wrong here. However i do think that play should have been stopped by the ref, and his decision to play on while two players are down injured was definitely a diabolical decision.

Personally, I wouldn't mind H&R going up to the next league with us. Reckon it's a toss up between them and H&Y. I thought both games against H&R were keenly contested resulting in both goals in this game being legitimate. There is a world of difference between being asked to concede a goal by a ref ( bromley) and refusing and being told to play on by a ref (H&R) and scoring. Conference Premier here we come!!!

For all the criticism of Wimbledon for throwing the ball in while two Hampton players were down, they took a fast throw-in no different from the fast corner from which Hampton scored and had the players been on their feet it wouldn't have made much difference.

Having now walked accross the H & R pitch, I can see why Alan Devonshire sets the team out to play that long ball game: theres no grass, its full of weeds and needs rolling! Guess thats why Hamptons attendances are so dire.

Huge congratulations to Eric Samuelson (can there be a more upstanding Chief Ex??), Terry Brown and Stuart Cash. Thoroughly deserved. Fair play to the Hamptons fans we met in the local pubs-good banter and a pint after, cheers guys. Hope you make it up too. YOU DONS!!!
