Hm, not exactly the same McMurphy in the book, but close enough. haven't seen the movie, but just finished the book for AP Language in school. A tragic story indeed.
@drepop803 im sorry, but this movie is amazing. idk if ur one of those people that's usually "hey where's the kool action and fight scenes!?" but this movie was suppose to show deep meaning within individuality, power, and fear among us. If it's too hard for you to comprehend that then im sorry u missed out on an awesome movie.
In the beginning I laughed really hard, I couldn't breathe. I the end I cried even harder, until I couldn't see. There is so much heart in this movie.
@sil2k8 Only young ignoramous's would think that "they did not know how to make trailers back in the day." Todays trailers are so full of two second CGI shit that you don't even know wtf the film is about. Maybe it's because most flicks nowadys are so lame they only need a lame trailers.
@pinkfreud62 Are you half retarded? A trailer is supposed to let you some sort of insight on what the plot is about! It is also supposed to at least sell you the "amazing" performances that are in the movie. This trailer would make people decide to not watch it. Sell the movie[!], that is what a trailer is supposed to do.
@DasGpunkt Actually no, this trailer sucks. I just asked my sister to watch the movie because the book was good and she made me show her the trailer and I told her she wouldn't like it, and it was true.
@vabeach94 Okay, i dont understand why this is a valid argument but i respect ur and ur sisters opinion.
Let me tell u why i like the Trailer: It is slow paced, giving just the right amount of information to get an idea of the movie without spoiling anything. there is no narrator telling u what the movie is about or expressing his opinion about how awesome this movie is and so on. And hey! my sister likes it, too. So its good!
Did you know that the writer of the original novel drew his inspiration from working nightshifts in a mental institution, sometimes under the influence of psychedelic drugs?
@dixieserb its from a nursery rhyme. if you read the book it says at the very beginning "one flew east, one flew west and one flew over the cuckoo's nest" and Chief Bromden's grandma used to sing this to him
@Chikca15 well, it's more like Girl, Interrupted is a girl version of this. i love Girl, Interrupted but this is a thousand times better and was filmed sooner.
I love this movie, one of the best ever, i think cinema in 70 was better than now, there are now some good movies, but you can find many good movies in the 70, avatar etc are worst by far, i think the reason is in the 70 they wanted to make good movies, now they want to make money
Remember coming out of the CInema after seeing it and feeling sick to my stomach - so sad, brutal and in the deepest darkest moments of insanity always the glimmer of humour - amazing film.
why do I cry everytime at the end of this movie
