  • Cant tell you how much I love this song. Every version that's not that french nonsense. Elton motello rules for writing this. Btw that guy "plastic bertrand" never sang or wrote any or his songs. It was all done by his producer er manager whom also stole this and a couple other motello songs. So its no reason to debate on that topic because bertrand never really existed as a musical artist

  • still kicks ass

  • ya know that punk was never and shouldn't be about conversation about punk.cover songs were done because the bands doing them had no other songs to play. they usually covered easy songs like Louis louis because they didnt know how to play music. Punk rock in its glory days asgreat! there is no such thing as radio played punk. love the Damned

  • ca plane pour moi - plastic bertrand?? or am i wrong?? he was heavily influenced by that, at least....

  • @rula42 No, this was an unreleased 'Piss take' of Plastic Bertrands ca plan pour moi,

Bertrand were rubbish, and this was a parody ... 'Jet Boy Jet Girl, he gave me head, we penetrate, wanna make you a girl" ...All just the Damned having a laugh at the expense of some French twat who thought he would jump onto the pnk bandwagon ...

  • @goldstar62 No offence meant - but just to clear much of the confussion surrounding this song. It was origionally done by Elton Montello back in 1977. (a band that I was involved with in 1978/9)

The Damned then covered it . Then the twat Bertrand covered it and changed the lyrics to a nonsensical french translation to get airplay.

  • @rula42 Origonally by Elton Montello pre 1977 :)

  • If you like it....embrace it! I just love it! xxx

  • fantastic, i love The Damned

  • awesome!!

  • feckin' awesome!! Had the great pleasure of getting pissed with the boys a few years back in Albany ,NY after their gig at Valetine's, love them.....

  • Yurk.

  • Great gay tube !!!

  • For the record, Elton Motello (Alan Ward) knows what he's talking about when he says Plastic Bertrand was NOT a member of his band.

There is no dispute anyway. Both Motello's single and LP mention "Jet Boy Jet Girl" was not created/composed by the group. Alan Ward got credits for adaptation and production.

He was just somehow ripped of because 'Ca plane pour moi' is using Motello's instrumental tracks and his group was not credited for the interpretation.

  • cannot listen to this song and be unhappy at the same time

  • Gonna make you be a girl!!! Great upload!!

  • nothing better than a fag song from a punk band...remember the mumps....

  • I really like this song - the original as well as many of the covers (even the plastic bertrand take on it) - i also really like the damned - but this video reminds me of how far they've fallen - it's not very good at all

  • Who cares, a complete rock song!

  • Awesome

  • Yesssssss!!

  • great to see the Captain singing his softies single "Quote this record is awful" quote the captains scribble on my copy. One of the best bands of the era NO DOUBT

  • No Doubt are shit.

  • no doubt the band are shit

the damned on the other hand no doubt are on e of the best

  • There was a bloke at a gig who had spent spent far too long sticking safety pins and studs over his leather jacket. He left a piece untouched between his shoulder blades. He gave Captain Sensible a paint pen to sign in this gap. He duly signed it said thanks and wandered off into the crowd. All excited, the bloke took his jacket off to see his autograph and found it said Cliff Richard. Jacket ruined. Classic!

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

  • @FTRPunks Brilliant. Cheered me up no end.

  • @FTRPunks Nice one!

  • @FTRPunks Yup, that's Cappy Sensible fer ya!

  • @FTRPunks singned my mates as Captain Birdseye ha ha then half way though gig picked him out in crowd and told him to keep eating the fish fingers @ rock city Nottingham 15/11/11

  • Brilliant! Saw them on this tour and they did this as an encore with Captain walking on stage in his nurse outfit. Great stuff!

  • Which was the original version - The Damned or Elton Motello? Did Plastic Bertrand's Ca Plane Pour Moi come before this or after this?

  • Elton Motello was first, then The Damned covered it. Ca Plane Pour Moi came after and just used the same tune with altered lyrics and (according to wikipedia) with the same musicians.

  • @VoodooCramps After the original is Elton Motello ...

  • Elton Motello wrote this song. Plastique was a member of his band, nicked the tune, and had a Belgian songwriter compose new lyrics in French for Ca Plane Pour Moi.

  • A a song about his cat drinking his whiskey , wasn't it?

  • That's part of it, dcarr84, but Plastique's song also contains lines such as "Like an Indian in his Igloo...oooooooooohweeee, I am the king of the divan."

  • Punnkk!!!

  • I love this song. It reminds me of the fun I had in the 80's!

  • At last a truly live offering here on You tube! I'm so sick of video of live performances with studio audio over.

  • :D YAY i found out that my drumming teacher to be, played with these guys for two years! haha theyre awesome :D

  • x-ing awesome.

'i could have cried with both my eyes"

    scratch their eyes out kitty.

  • thats your opinion. We all have different styles. But anywho, his just teaching me the basics, i can take it to my own style after that.

  • cutekitty - of course it's my opinion. Everything I type is. However, I was going to punk clubs before you were born, and trust me, The Damned were awful. Good luck with the drumming! Keikocat

  • The damned are awful to you. Maybe not so much to others though. And thankyou :)

  • Whomever shot/edited this should be shot and edited!

  • Awesome punk song, but watching it in high quality is kind of an oxymoron....

The lyrics are the best jetting part!

  • i LOVE this song!!

  • The don't CARE!

  • quite likely

  • na I boinked the Captain last night while wearing his Beret. he liked it.

  • why does it matter?

  • Mr Mannering, they don't like it up 'em.

  • thats not bono

    thats Dave Vanian

  • what are Bono and jimmy saville doing stage with the captain?

  • It DOES sound like Ca Plane Pour Moi! (or vice-versa)

    cool song

  • Plastic Bertrand covered/re-wrote it so it's pretty much the same song.

  • THE DAMNED ♥ love this song x

  • this is the first damned song i ever hear and i never knew that the normal singer didn't sing it.

p.s. if i just said something that was wrong, please don't make fun of me.

  • That's ok, Captian Sensible sang alot of the older "punkier" Damned songs, along with his own independent stuff. Back then they had more of the Malcolm Mclaren influence. Dave Vainian got popular on the Phantasmagoria album, their most popular album, when they and TSOL got into a Death Rock phase in 80's.

  • good song but gay

  • DUH!

    Ya think so? :)

  • song is so great i named my daughter after it ,JETT X

  • jesus you lot! the damned were great fun end of.

  • I've heard this song is has homoerotic lyrics.

  • Bend over and lets see....

  • Where's 24?

  • yes.

  • Deprijck and Lacomblez are the composers of this song.'Jet Boy Jet Girl' was released first, but 'Ca plane Pour Moi' is also from Deprijck so what is the discussion in fact all about!

  • Other way 'round, mate... Although this song is a cover also. Just google.

  • dear idiots and follow-up half witters...

here's the facts: the original song is JET BOY JET GIRL by ELTON MOTELLO. "Plastic Bertrand" was the drummer of this band before he went solo and did a french version of it. the one by "The Damned" is therefor a tribute to the original.

    EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!!!!!

  • ah, i just love when people shoot their mouths off without the facts...

  • All this talk of who did the song first who ripped who off is the complete antithesis of what it means to be punk. A good punk song doesn't have to be original. Originality was NEVER a key aspect of punk music. Covers have always been a part and parcel to the punk music scene.

Originality is part of the post punk "I'm cool cuz I listen to bands that no one knows" music scene. Were fools judge talent by how unpopular a band is. The more unpopular the cooler it is. Get punk and get real people.

  • Post-punk is nothing like that, YOU get real! Punk Rock is the exact same way, look at me I listen to music no else knows about. Punk Rock and Post-punk are both somewhat underground these days. Besides there wouldn't be Post-punk if there wasn't Punk in the first place nimrod. So originality had to somewhat with punk. Nothing is original and frankly I don't care as long as there's good music

  • Excuse me? Punk rock was never about if its popular its crap. Punk was never its has to be original to be cool or good. Punk bands all did covers and they did great covers. No one ever said thatpunk was not responsible for the post punk genre. Punk was about going out there and singing and not giving a crap about the BS. It was about giving it your all and going for broke. Unpopular=cool original=cool is the BS punk was against. a band is either good or bad regardless of popularity, that punk.

  • Spot on airgedok

Just get up there and do it for fun

  • @AIRGEDOK I can't tell you how unpopular punk was in the 70s. You got shunned by friends. You got chased by the metal heads and disco assholes. The guys in the record stores looked at you funny and make comments at you. The movie theatre that The Dead Boys played in (Oasis movie theatre, Ridgewood N.Y.) was torn up by the neighborhood. Punk was dangerous. Back then to be a punk, you had to have balls.

  • @inhocsignovinces88 So you are addressing me about how unpopular punk was to non punks because? How does anything you wrote relate to what I said? Punk has ALWAYS had covers, has Never had the attitude "if its not original then its crap." I don't need to be told how people reacted to punks, I'm in my 40s and I was a death-punk (what we today call goths) and I know what it was like. That said punks then did not critize a band because they did a cover.

  • @AIRGEDOK I will agree to disagree on Punk being about originality. Being unoriginal is not punk. Who wants to be like everyone eles in mainstream. And if one band plays another's song is not being unoriginal. It's a love and respect for someone eles's music enough to want a chance to play it.

  • @HanoverFist247 A cover of a song is by definition unoriginal. Yet when you remove original from the context of Original = Good and unoriginal = bad. You don't have to make logically false statements like "if one band plays another's song is not being unoriginal." Your second part is correct but doing a cover does mean you are not doing something original. Its ok to do things that are not original. As you pointed out you shows you are showing respect for the song, yet its not original but good.

  • @AIRGEDOK I'm sorry i think i made myself misunderstood. What i mean to say is that if a band does another band's song doesn't remove their credibility as being an orginal band, ergo they never stopped being orginal.

  • @HanoverFist247 As i said before punk is about going out there and singing and not giving a crap about the BS. Punk has always been about giving it your all and going for broke. unpopular=cool original = cool is the BS punk is against. A band is either good or band regardless of popularity, thats punk. And all this talk about who did this song first and thus is better than the others who did the song is BS and not punk. That attitude is post punk and bullshit.

  • @HanoverFist247 And in the context of what I was saying Originally was that all this talk about who id the song first is in fact the antithesis of punk. because punk was about going outhere and not giving a shit and doing, it was not about some useless arguement about who did the song first. Not once when I was growing up did people in the punk movement go" sid visious' version of frank sanitra's song sucks because he ripped it off. No one was worried about the originality to the exclusion all.

  • @AIRGEDOK If you read all my cooments then you will have seen that your cooments have nothing to do with what i was saying. I was commenting on all the BS people were harping on about who did the song first and who "ripped it off" and basing who was goo and who was not good based on who did the song first. AKA who was origninal and who was just the rip off artist. That attitude is the anthisist of punk. Read all my cooment from 2 years ago & you will see I am not commenting if punk is original..

  • Hahaha my dad showed my this band a few days ago THEY'RE AMAZING!

  • "hey son, check out this band that sings about getting a blowjob from another guy..." damn i wish i lived at your house

  • haha that made me laugh.

  • Um I'm a girl and no thanks.

  • Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooooo...

  • isn't this song from the band chron gen?

    Chron gen kicks ass

  • its elton motello... 1978

  • IT IS FROM ELTON MOTELLO! plastic bertrand used his musicians and decided that the original lyrics were too expleitive, so created new lyrics, not the other way round.

  • you're a dumbass on multiple counts. A: your name is "louiscuittonrulesss". that's already negative points.

B: elton motello's is the original, and bertrand took the melody because he played drums for motello.

C: bertrand isn't french you moron, he's belgian.

  • chron covers it.

  • this is a classic song. i also have a friend named jetboy. good nickname. :)

  • We are not calling ourselves "Jetboy and Jetgirl", I don't even care if I get to be Jetboy.

  • You win for quoting the VB :3 Just another reason to love VB. 21 and 24 are the lulz

  • HAHA! Me too!

  • - Of course he is offering you head, it wouldn't be sensible lest your knob found its way into his mouth would it... xx

  • I'm gonna make and penetrate..."

  • @derekexcelcisor my hearing is very bad, but i thought thats what he said... :)

  • original done by elton motello, plastic bertrend recorded the song with eltons backing band, but changed the lyrics.

  • the plastic bertrand version is sick. haven't heard the original. thanks for the info.

  • my mate digs says this is the same song ans plastic bertrends ca poir pur moi!!! so fuch yous lot!!!!

  • ca PLAN POUR moi

  • sook it ya prich, ma mate digs knows more about this shyte than anycont. so go fuch yer mamma

  • ca PLANE pour moi.

    Get YOUR facts right

  • ca PLANE pour moi used the same melody, this song existed before plastic bertrend used the same tune.

  • ca PLAN POUR moi used the same tune, elton motello created the song and tune first.

  • no it isnt, plastic bertrends used the melody

  • I don't suppose anyone has a vid of Chron Gen doing this song, 'cos theirs is the definitive version in my opinion.

  • great!

  • quality track
