  • WHERE IS MEZMERIZE BY SOD?!?

  • The Melvins song you used is from Houdini, not Lysol... not trying to sound picky but they're two completely different records

  • @JetlagAgain Gold star! I only have Lysol on vinyl, so I used Hooch.

  • The Melvins song you used is from Houdini, not Lysol...

  • good list

  • Dude, yes, YES, YES!!! Fucking epic list, best one I've seen so far. Great job. Cheers!

  • good list.... BUT no black metal or maiden??

  • @metalmandan9 Maiden is in there at number 10. I also comment on the exclusion of BM at the start of the video. It's funny, you're about the 15th person to ask why X band isn't on the list when they are.

    Anyways, thanks for watching.

  • @stabyourcat ahaha oh sorry :P you have great taste man, but i think maiden deserve number one! good list though mate! thanks for making the video :)

  • Much love for including Kyuss, Electric Wizard, and Burning Witch, great bands.

  • Pretty good list you really cover most of the best from each metal genre. I know you weren't into black metal so here I recommend some essential black metal albums: Emperor-"In The Nightside Eclipse", "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk", Immortal "Pure Holocaust", "At The Heart Of Winter", Satyricon "Nemesis Divina", Mayhem "De Misteries Don Sathanas", Ulver "Bergtatt – Et eeventyr i 5 capitler", Burzun "Filosofem", Dissection "Storms Of The Light-Bane" Dimmu Borgir " Enthrone Darkness Triumphant"

  • @Emanny237 Thanks for the comment. I'm quite in to black metal now. I have pretty much all of the albums you listed with the exception of Satyricon, Dimmu, and Ulver. Will check them out! Cheers.

  • my top 10 albums 10-painkiller - judas priest 09-the number of the beast - iron maiden 08-black album - metallica 07-powerslave - iron maiden 06-machine head - deep purple 05-Keeper seven keys 1 - helloween 04-keeper seven keys 2 - helloween 03-piece of mind - iron maiden 02-seventh son of a seventh son - iron maiden 01-somewhere in time - iron maiden
  • I visit FlirtyCams. O_R_G to date, and I think it's a outstanding site for sex

  • wheres toxicity ?

  • @123123hbk It's not on the list because it's fucking garbage alternative metal.

  • Ok... This sucks...

  • Way to much newer metal for me.

  • Rust in Peace! That's a terrific album.

  • Seriously lacks either Don't Break the Oath or Melissa by Mercyful Fate. Or Abigail by the monarch himself.

  • Master of puppets sucks! So does reign in blood.

  • Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Rammstein, Pantera, Motorhead and Mercyful Fate!

  • this is mostley death and trash metal... u should make a list like this: metallica, megadeth, pantera, judas priest, iron maiden, slipknot, five finger death punch, dream theater, black sabbath, alice in chain... this is a good list

  • wth wheres dragonforce

  • Pretty good a few were missing like Mercyful Fate, Fear Factory, Danzig, Type O Negative, and others. Overall though good list I have pretty much every album you've listed here. I don't get why guys are bashing your list here hard core its not a bad list by any means. Acid Bath, and Crowbar are pretty decent bands you should check them out if you haven't before.

  • only good ones were black sabbath, slayer and metallica. i would put cradle of filth in there. and why the fuck IRON MAIDEN not there?.. everything else is crap.

  • @filth69ify1 Iron Maiden is there. At number ten. Also, Cradle of Filth is fucking terrible.

  • @stabyourcat you are fucking terrible. and thats your opinion no taste.

  • @stabyourcat the principle of evil made flesh is the greatest album ever, sure after that they were terrible but principle is amazing.

no ride the lightning? no beneath the remains? what about ministry ( the 1 with pslam 69)? what about burzum ( at least 2 of his should be in the top 50) what about mayhem deathcrush?

anyway nice 1 for doing a vid i could not be botherd myself so take no notice of me (apart from were i said the priciple of evil made flesh is the best album ever)

  • @30billyclementine Hey there. Ride the Lightning, and Beneath the Remains were omitted because I was only doing one album per band. Also, as I stated at the start of the video, I was not in to black metal at the time, so all black metal albums were omitted. Thirdly, I am not a fan of Cradle of Filth, or Ministry (although I have never heard Priciple of Evil...). Just my preferences.

Thanks for the comment, though. If you want to check out my other lists, I do a "best of" every year.

  • @stabyourcat

o i see mate cool, if u like black metal now u should check the principle of evil, its a different from the norweigens but has similaritys, COF get insulted by metal fans alot cos they are such posers but i always stick up for them cos their first album is so good , after that i think 3 band members left and they were like a diferent band. check out to eve the art of witchcraft watch?v=lydoiMEVlnE

  • Isis, mastodon, neurosis, tool, Dillinger, earth, converge, botch... this is a good list.

  • What was the original 13?

  • other than a few of the post im going to have to say great list i liked the verity of types of metal and the songs choosen to show the albums good job

  • METALLICA YES!

  • great variety

  • I knew there would be a lot of bitching in the comments, but this is probably the best list of this type that I've seen. Really good variety, and just enough unpredictability. I'd pick a different album for a lot of the mentioned bands, but damn the whole thing's solid and representative of a lot of subgenres. Cheers!

  • You really need a wider variety of music in your life chief. This is mostley Death Metal and Thrash. It's alright though, you might have turned me on to a new band. Let me check out #30 on you list a little closer.

  • @Chrisjb1983 Hmm, I'd have to disagree and say there is a great variety on this list. There's about 10 death metal albums, and what... 5 or so thrash?

  • master of reality? oh and from enslavement to obliteration is better than scum.

  • STRAPPING YOUNG LAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would put city at number one

  • Powerslave, number of the beast or paranoid must be number 1

  • Paranoid destroys master of puppets.

  • 5 or 6 very good albums there, allot that shouldn't make the top 500!

  • Pantera's The Great Southern Trendkill is the greatest meta albuml no wait the greatest album of all time

    R.I.P Dimebag Darrell!

  • Here are some you probably should've had:

    Judas Priest: British Steel

Ozzy Osbourne: Diary Of A Madman

    Dio: Holy Diver

    Alice In Chains: Dirt

    Venom: Welcome To Hell

Mercyful Fate: Don't Break The Oath

    Exodus: Bonded By Blood

  • Top Ten (Personally) 1. Rust in Peace 2. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 3. Ride the Lightning 4. Paradise Lost 5. Zeppelin V (This isn't particularly a metal list) 6. Appetite for Destruction 7. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? 8. Horror Show 9. 1984 10. Songs for the Deaf (Listen to it whilst stoned out of your mind) 7. Blizzard of Oz 8. Holy Diver 9. Peace Sells.... But Who's Buying?
  • @TERRIBLEPRODUCTIONSS Led Zeppelin IS metal.

  • Nicely rounded list! Classics from every genre... Def gotta check out Burning WItch! Metal!!!

  • Im really glad you put AENIMA

  • saint vitus, nice

  • My favorite metal album is Ride the Lightning and I was gonna complain about it not being on your list since you have Master of Puppets at # 1 but then I seen that you have 1 album per band. Ride the Lightning has 7 thrash classics and Escape is a good solid thrash song too. I know it's not the first thrash album but for me it's like the bible of thrash metal. \m/

  • anthrax among the living should have been on the 25 spot

  • ...you put master of puppet first...put at least ride the lightning and if you are a real metal fan put rust in peace

  • @nicpopollo Hey. Rust is in there at #15... and I'm only doing one album per band, otherwise I'd probably throw Ride the Lightning on there. Cheers.

  • @stabyourcat man, if you'd have waited just a little while longer you could've included Opeth's Watershed on this, its just amazing if you haven't heard it. and in my opinion, leviathan is better than Remission.

  • @hillbillygenius72 I've literally never listened to an Opeth record (seen them a couple times!). I'm sure I'd like them, but just haven't got around to it. Leviathan is great, but I listen to Remission about 10X more. Heavier, and much more challenging.

  • @nicpopollo yeah he's not a real metal fan because he has a different opinion than you.....

  • @nicpopollo real metal fan? rust in peace is amazing but once a band sells out theyre not true. megadeth and metallica both sold out, thats why i dont like either put maiden first.

  • @nicpopollo real metal fan? rust in peace is amazing but once a band sells out theyre not true. megadeth and metallica both sold out, thats why i dont like either........ put maiden first.

  • Nice Its a pretty good list

  • I wish Metallica made more ablums like Master Of Puppets, and Ride The Lightning.

  • I always feel lame having to look up new music on the internet, but thanks for this vid! I'll be proud to call this my music :)

  • @shutupsamandseth It's all good as long as you support the music! This list is a bit old... check out some of my newer videos for best of 07, 08, 09, etc.. Cheers!

  • kinda eerie how close this is to my all time favorites (I personally would have put Temple of the Morning Star in the top 10, but either way...)

anyway, good video man, and fuck the naysayers who are too stupid to read vid descriptions

  • Rage Against the Machine isn't metal ya dumbfuck. Kill yourself.

  • @Tard246 Nor is Converge, Botch, His Hero Is Gone or even Brutal Truth if you wanna get picky. Who cares? Make your own list, tough guy.

  • @Tard246 calm it down, Cachi

  • No Judas Priest? really

  • @VenomousX

Did that make you really sad?

  • @PunksDeadEmoK1dsN3xt No...i'm just kinda of surprised. After all who am i to say what band another person should have on a greatest metal albums list? It's one person's opinion. Not the voice of everyone.

  • @VenomousX

Yeah, but it seems here on youtube poeple need to see the standard bands. If Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc aren't in a top 50 a lot of people are very surprised. :0

  • uhhh. hate Metallica

  • ummmmm rage against the machine isnt metal. and no exodus, testament, or kreator?

  • @ladudinator If I remade the list Pleasure to Kill would definitely be on it... Bonded by Blood... probably as well. Never was much in to Testament, though.

  • This list good enough to teach kids metal.

    Great list \m/

  • @aeonzone Thanks a bunch.

  • whats up dude i loved the list and i got some questions what are the songs used for Brutal Truth, Soilent Green, Botch, Candiria, Earth, Pig Destroyer and Meshugga? if you could get back to me thats awesome other than that I still love this list \m/

  • @mattyperron Soilent Green - "It Was Just An Accident"

    Brutal Truth - "Dementia"

Botch - "To Our Friends in the Great White North"

    Candiria - "Signs of Discontent"

    Earth - "Seven Angels"

    Pig Destroyer - "Cheerleader Corpses"

    Meshuggah - "Future Breed Machine"

    Cheers!

  • SYMBOLIC!!

  • Nice video I respect your top 50 metal albums of all time but #1 for me is Pantera The Great Southern Trendkill

  • Listen to Overkill - The Years of Decay

  • No Deicide!?

  • Honestly, never got much in to Deicide. If I remade the list, their first record might make it, though.

  • whats the band/album at 2:16? i really like it

  • The band at 2:16 is Today Is The Day and the album is Temple Of The Morning Star.

  • Yeah that was the only problem with the list as far as i'm concerned.

  • great list except sepultura should be in the atleast 30 or 20 albums

  • what is the song playing at the beginning of this video ?

  • That's the intro to 3 Inches of Blood's "Fire Up the Blades" album. The actual song is calllleeed.....shit I gotta check that... "Through the Horned Gate".

It is just an intro though. It leads in to "Night Marauders" which is a completely bad ass song.

  • hear*

  • my friend, u here about SODOM_agent orange? sepultura-arise?grow up.Beneath the Remains...death..leprocy, bon jovi it's not in your top?why?slayer with season in the abbis..where it's testament? where it's benediction?destruction, bathory, carcass and more others god's of metal?but where it's dream theatre?or def lepard?quuen, europe?this it's the best groups(and more) of metal ever.

  • 0:17-0:25

  • Death - Symbolic and At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul are both very underrated. So are the rest of all their albums.

  • seeing maiden, tool, sabbath, mastodon, metallica ,(and of course )isis on the top ten gives your list a sense of good taste and reality.

  • Haha, thanks my man. Fully appreciated.

  • death...my favourite

  • Interesting List. If It were me the top 8would all be Black Sabbath

  • Eddie Meduza Rocks !

  • THIS LIST IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT! the top two are trash and some of these albums are in shitty order. only a few of these deserve to be on here.

  • i actually plan too. it will be much better than this bullshit. why the fuck isnt coma of souls on here?

  • What #37 burning .........??

  • witch

  • 0 = Decapitated - Organic hallucinosis

  • Intersting List. I agreed with the number one not with the other positions, you must included Ten Comman from Malevolent, Harmony Corruption from Napalm, Consuming Impulse from Pestilence and Cause of Death from Obituary

  • this shit to hardcore for me i like singing w/some screaming y'know?

  • shitty list you faggot

  • you guys need to understand this is opinion. stop complaining. i like 99% of the albums listed.

  • @rustyshackleford1993 Haha, exactly. I don't get people. They like a few bands on the list, and then see a couple they don't agree with, and boom! I suck.

    Cheers.

  • so you didnt like 1/2 an album?

  • shut the fuck up rusty

  • I get what your saying not enough singing i'm not bashing his opinion but just not my style.

  • Putting Meshuggah and old Mastodon in the same list as tool, motorhead, lamb of god, and the dillinger escape plan, is like shitting on perfectly good ice cream.

  • Bleh.

  • interesante lista pero no debes sacar a los melvins

  • wow mixing brutal truth with RATM is like....WOW

  • rage against the machine isn't metal

  • @Unhallowed17 I disagree. RATM get lumped in with 'alternative' just because they came out when that scene was booming.

They wouldn't belong on an alternative list, or a punk one. Their spot here is justified in my opinion.

  • you still didn't legitimately justify why RATM is metal.

there is no doubt that they are heavy and have traits of metal within their music, but to classify them just as metal is inaccurate.

after all if we do that then we could start classifying System of a Down as metal, right?

  • @Unhallowed17 ...you didn't justify why they aren't.

  • I clearly stated that they have metal elements but are by no means just METAL. The alternative and rap influences are just as big as the metal ones.

  • OH LAWD this list is filled with aids

  • Great list but I prefer leviathan, seasons in the abyss, so far so good so what, no heroes, nothing!

  • WHERE IS ALTARS OF MADNESS, Its the greatest death metal album of all time

  • aww no decapitated ;<

  • soundgarden, comman dude....

  • u should have but sound of perserverance on there...but symbolic was a cool album 2...and gojira's album the art of dying should have been on there

  • my opinion is that it goes from good to bad

  • @PureMetalMusic Fair enough. What don't you like?

  • i prefer pretty much anything over metallica

  • haha exactly! although some great albums are on the top where they should be, but MoP? Best metal album? NO WAY

  • eyehategod's Dopesick # 1 !

  • ehhh, I dunno bout Metallica as number 1. Metal Church's the dark or their self titled should be in that spot.

  • is this in order

  • Oh come on, where's Mastodon's LEVIATHAN?

  • I LOVE Leviathan, but I'm only doing one album per band, and Remission is far better.

  • great job!

    no love for dream theater?

  • Thanks a bunch.

Not to make you mad at all, but I can't really stomach Dream Theater. Competent players, for sure, just really not my cup o' tea.

  • yeah, i think dream theatre is good, but i just can't listen to 10 minute songs, it gets boring

  • Comment removed

  • kyuss fucking sucks donkey sack so does faith no more and wheres cannibal corpse or dimmu and master of puppets is overrated as hell the real #1 album is slipknot vol. 3: the subliminal verses

  • Great comment!

  • Your so wrong. Kyuss is amazing.

  • I guessed the top 2 correctly :]

  • kyuss aint exactly metal soundin

  • good list lots of records there are obligation

  • It Was Just An Accident

  • i always thought that human, leprosy, and scream bloody gore were the best death albums

  • nice list man

  • Symbolic need to be on the first 10

  • also THE LEGACY omfg are you really kidding me?! no megadeth and testament, and you have slayer metallica and anthrax

    WTF?!

  • Megadeth is on the list. Quite high as well. I prefer the technical thrashing of Rust in Peace over Peace Sells.

  • are you kidding me? where's peace sells?

  • yea you are so right peace sells is one of the best megadeth aluums

  • lol number of the beast is my 2nd LEAST fav Maiden album...the last 3 have been extremely good

  • Nice list,i think Scream Bloody Gore or Spiritual Healing by DEATH should be in it,and No Nuclear Assault or Dethklok??? Oh well other then that good list

  • Dethklok, hahaha.

  • dethklok are you fucking kidding me? get the fuck out kid

  • They are a good band if you cant accept that then its your fuckin problem.

  • bro its a PARODY band, i like them sure, but i don't think they belong anywhere close to a list of the best bands of all time. if you cant understand that then its your fuckin problem

  • So...It doesnt matter if they are a real band or not, they are still better then a lot of bands, like SOAD,Rage against the Machines, and more metal then Iron Maiden.

  • awesome to see paranoid up there. Sabbaths S/T through Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are all pretty awesome. Good to see High On Fire on there too. I might have thrown up some Queens of the Stone Age any one of the first 3 albums. Autopsy - Severed Survival is an awesome death metal album

  • Kyuss and the Melvins aren't metal? That's a bunch of bullshit.

  • What about Metallica's Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Sabbath's first album? And Judas Priest?

  • Good List, but i cannot understand the reason why soundgarden, melvins and kyuss appear: they're really fine, but they're not metal!

I suggest substituting them with down, gorguts and mayhem

  • WOW!! What a list. Your top three threw me for a loop. After the first 47 I never expected to see such mainstream albums at 3-1. I agree though. Sabbath (their first album and Paranoid)0 and Master are in my top three! Great list man!!!!

BTW who was that at #8 around the 8:10 mark? I want that.

  • That was Tool.

  • Being mainstream doesnt mean not good.

  • I agree 100%! I agree with his top 3 choices. I just meant that a lot of the tracks prior were not so mainstream and I didn't expect to see Master come up a the end!

  • Yea i know i was just saying there are a lot of people who dont like Metallica because they are mainstream, altho they are stil prety good, and yea lol that hit me by surprise aswell lol.

  • wut no killswitch?!
