I honestly hate this. The original (Peter Gabriel ft. Kate Bush) was so much better. There was raw emotion and a sense of support emanating from the original - an integral component this song lacked. Plus, I felt that Gaga's part was overpowering; the song is about the female vocalist supporting the male vocalist - not being an attention seeker. Kate Bush sounded like a support net in the original, unlike Gaga who takes center stage. Plus, they sped it up too much...

Gaga's voice is over-flowing with sincerity and emotion, she isnt "trying" her voice is naturally dominant, its beautiful, every word she sings its like she means it, even in other songs not just this song, really amazing i got teary listening to this, i prefere this version by faaaaaar to kate's.

Oh God.

This is pretty dreadful. It's way too fast and part of the charm of the original was that it was slow and ethereal. The singers are completely overdoing it and are trying to hard, and as a result the emotion and feeling that ran rampant in the original is completely sapped. Also the musical arrangement sounds terrible.

And also you can cut that crap about "if I don't like it then don't listen to it". I make it my business when one of my favourites is covered and it ends up shit.

It's impossible for a Peter Gabriel song to become staling and old. Apart from anything else this isn't a different "interpretation", this is a great song being made artificial and terrible for a generation that treats music like processed burgers at a fast food restaurant.

That is entirely your opinion. The sound quality is, as I feel, grainy and old. The instruments are outdated in this continually evolving music industry. It's "artifical and terrible"? Your opinion. I also like your phrase "The instruments are outdated", which is bullshit anyway because intruments can be played at anytime, but I would like to point out that at least there "are" instruments being used in the original. It's all made up on computers now, which sucks.

I fact most music sucks nowadays. All mainstream stuff, particularly pop like this, has no soul and I would quite frankly rather listen to my only son being murdered than listen to this. The original was "Art Pop" which doesn't exist now. Hell even some of the underground stuff isn't that good, "In Case of Fire" being an example. The best music now is the heavier stuff like metal, because it has barely changed and is lyrically and musically complex. Also people actually play "instruments".
