I saw these guys live once. Most of my friends never heard of them before the concert. I had heard of them and was a huge fan. I told my friends to prepare to be blown away. They were. Byron (singer) and Doc (bald guitarist) hung out in the crowd when their set was over. They both signed my God Forbid shirt and chatted with me for a while. They are awesome dudes.

It is a concept album telling the story of a futuristic society that destroys itself, reforms many years later, and eventually destroys itself again in the same way it originally did. The band's guitarist has stated that the album's basic theme is the fact that humanity in general doesn't seem to learn from its mistakes. this song has nothing to do with any war today.

When this album came out and my team heard it, this became our payback song for every single mission. We were fuckin bulletproof and scared of nothing remembering brothers who were KIA by IED's or ambushed. I saw these guys live once. Most of my friends never heard of them before the concert. I had heard of them and was a huge fan. I told my friends to prepare to be blown away. They were. Byron (singer) and Doc (bald guitarist) hung out in the crowd when their set was over. They both signed my God Forbid shirt and chatted with me for a while. They are awesome dudes.

Had we been at war for an actual cause (like WW2, for example) - that would be another story all together. We never should have been in Afghanistan or Iraq. Period.

Also, just because you sign up for the military, doesn't mean you want to go to war. Most people do it for the money for college, or to learn a trade. Not to go to war.
People in the military go to war because they HAVE to, not because they WANT to. They have just as much right to bitch about it as anyone else.

And quite a few of them will straight up say fuck Bush and both his wars. Just because you're obligated to go to war if the president tells you, doesn't mean you're not allowed to express your disliking of him. I know a lot of soldiers who are openly as anti-Bush as I am.

My MOS was gonna be Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Specialist. My platoon was one of the first sent to Iraq. I woulda been on the front lines, looking for WMD's, had I not been sent home.
