Man this is scary. My bro goes to NIU. I heard this on the news, scared me, knowing I could've lost a brother. He goes to Co Hall or whatever for one of his classes. He just left class from another building a couple minutes away from the shooting, and he was waiting at a bus stop, and these 2 girls in came running there from Co Hall. Shocked, scared, my bro had to help them onto the bus. My prayers go out to all the families and friends that lost some of their close friends.

I live in Texas, we have a very successful concealed firearms program. Illinois does not. Stats show that CHL holders have a lower criminality rate than even police officers.

If people are willing to take drastic measures to prevent this, why not allow students with credentials to carry on campus?

Whats that supposed to mean? Look, we had a MAJOR mass killing here in Killeen Texas in 1991. When a crazed gunman drove his car into a Lubys cafe and shot 24 people. True, not a gun free zone or a campus. But that was the catalyst for change. That crime led to the conceal and carry laws we have to this day.

There has been no killing like that here since then.

Conceal and Carry works. Gun bans don't. Gun free zones don't.

As a former resident on DeKalb, and having friends that either graduated or are still enrolled there, this hits you hard.

I called my friend and asked him if he's Ok, he says "I walked in front of that hall 30 mins before it happened."
