Have you ever heard a sax cry?

This is one of the masterpieces of Music (with the "M" capitalized) of all the times.

    Here Coltrane, superbly supported by his quartet, rises heights of sublime lyricism, a piece that continuously, constant rises, where the tenor of Trane pines, an invocation of real chills climbs to heaven (listen what happens around 3' and 5'30 "), its magical and melancholic vibrato is a breath of heavenly song of dramatic passion;

  • (2/2)

aided by a Tyner that dispenses with both hands and pounding, staring and lopsided chords, in full counterpoint, while the wild roll of Jones drums steps up the tension and masterful climax of the incitement.

After that, there will be nothing more to say; Coltrane switches to Free, and the group will disperse at different times, but the level reached here will remain unattainable.

  • It's so important to make time stop. It's the true way of life to be grateful for everything, and be a good and caring person. Innocence and love are forever. It doesn't have to do with religion.

  • You know what the coolest part is..is that there are actual lyrics to this song he made if you purchase the CD it's in the cover the lyrics are him praising God it's just so amazing if you don't have a physical copy of this album I urge you to get it you wont regret it!

  • @HeavensArmies It's the best text. To acknowledge the air we're breathing. Like being back in childhood.

  • @rlevanony1 It's life itself there's a tendency to forget sometimes, time is wasted on strange things, while the people are all around.

  • @HeavensArmies And to be without the urge to have to do something without reason. It's it.

  • I've never had a man's music bring tears to my eyes more often than Coltrane's.

  • I listened to this song 30 times, and never understood it. On the 31st time I heard it, I cried my eyes out. This is being played at the throne of God in heaven today. What a magnificent song.

  • Movin' masterpiece ever !

    A lot of thanks

  • After a lot of time without hearing Trane, I rest astonished, mute, eyes, mouth and ears wide open to be in the presence of this wonder of music.

If heaven was a fake I think God would invent one for him to rest playing music for all the eternity.

  • Parts of me wish I had never heard this song.....cause now I've heard it all.

There's no where else to go.

  • The summation of Coltrane's reverence for life and its endless possibilites. Amen.

  • This segment has been compared to a prayer. To me this a prayer for a soul that is troubled seeking for peace, for repentance, for relief. Pouring out his/her soul to the Almighty seeking refuge from this wretched world.

Seeking the Almighty's Love Supreme. @TheMuzikHead. I appreciate this great jazz classic as well. Thanks you Jazzman
