@EricaTalamantes well if you live in a building, or have other pets like rodents and dogs or cats, DONT GET ONE! But otherwise they are wonderful pets, because yes they can be loud most of the times, but if you have other pets like for example a dog's ear is very sensitive to hearing and same with rodents which is ten times worse. And btw they are called derbyan parakeets not really mustache thats like a nickname.
@bellahorse151 "Moustache" is no nickname. The Derbyan Parakeet is a separate subspecies of the Psittacula. Derbyans are known as "Psittacula Derbiana" and the Moustache is known as "Psittacula Alexandri". They are two totally different birds.
I know, I get them mixed up too. Except for when I went to purchase my Moustache Parakeet at a breeder, I saw that they were selling Derbyans as well. The Moustache Parakeet was $550 and the Derbyan over $1,000! That's one way to tell them apart... :)

hes so cute. i got one last week he wont let me touch him when hes by his cage, but hes alright when he isnt by it. i called mine Ferris.
