Well, Katie Melua had an incredibly beautiful voice, but was definitely too young to sing this song then.

Mike Batt had written it for a (real or imaginary?) drama about Marilyn Monroe (but it was not used).

Imagine Marilyn is sitting on her bed on the last day, before taking those deadly pills, and singing this song...

What a pity Agnetha F. never got the solo career her unique voice (and complex personality) deserved... Her part in 'Abba' took up most of her best years, and most her energy. Yet- even today (and she's now 60), her voice with its sensitive, accomplished inflections : they're still here. Her talent' s untouched- better, even- now that's she mellowed, and gone 'deeper' than in her Abba days.

@lifasal I think this song tells of the anguish that's from her past and some in her present. Still beautiful, but wish their was a way to mend her broken heart. At least she has her children still to love, and try to go on with.

gosh, her voice is ever the bit amazing today as it was 30 years ago..incredible!!

I wish she would do a couple duets with some male singers, but, unfortunately, I cannot think of any of 'today's' male singers whose voice would compliment her..but she sings harmonies so well it sure would be a treat!!
