@fargeeks Too bad they replacing these, plus the New Flyer LFA model is discontinued; so they may throw some Restyles or Xcelsiors in Phoenix. Really going to miss these "45C" models.
This bus sound rather close to our MTA Neoplans. If NABI come up with another design to resemble the BRT design for the Compobus everyone have their hands on one.
Man that is one sweet sounding bus. I got to drive a NABI LFW once on my route at Yolobus just outside of Sacramento. It was specd just like the LACMTA ones. Those buses drove like the MCI of transit buses. Too bad they took it away from me after one trip after they management got wise that we wernt supposed to have NABI's on the route I was doing so I ended up with the dreaded Orion V. But I'll tell ya nothing drives like a NABI except maybe a New Flyer
yeah its only a matter of time before valley metro actually gets newer ones like those 2009 series in LA California I hear their engines are bit more quieter
maybe, but I heard Valley Metro pretty much gave up on ordering any more copobuses so LA Metro pretty much outbeats us in AZ , on getting the latest buses on all means
@jlb62983 no, I dont know but let me tell you this The 2006 NABI BRT is the of the only newest NABI buses of Valley metro and the 2004 copobuses are the newest we have of them
but as far as I know Valley metro (RPTA) is planning to get more new NEW FLYER buses
how come LA Metro Compo's doesn't have these comfortable seats like Valley Metro? And one thing I noticed about this Compobus in the video is that there is no rear camera outside of the bus like LA Metro Compo's have
LOL actually each seats have lamps above which you can turn on or off perfect for reading on the bus whenever the flourescent light are not on YOU know??
Now all I can tell you is that each state and agency have their own regulatuions and stuff.
but believe me if you been on these rapid buses youll feel like your on the express (TYPE) bus and get your moneys worth and you would want LA to get these LNGs but I telll you one thing the ones
Haha. I got to see 7120 when it went to the O&SC because it had a bad farebox, 7120 usually runs the SR-51 in the morning and the I-17 in the evening.
Just as a bit of info, RAPID 7101-7123 were the first 45C-LFW's ever produced by NABI, 7157-7164 are owned by Tempe, and are white, green and purple, and run Tempe Express 511. All of them are LNG.
(Hint: You can find 7101 on the I-10 West morning/evening service.)
I guess but in the morning it goes on I-17 but sometimes it will say sr-51 while its on I-17 I could assume it got off that freeway then went to another
HEY YOU SHOULD GET A VIDEO of these buses in tempe I think they have them with the old color scheme where you see that V on the side those compobuses have windows that can slide OPEN
@fargeek Indeed, The same bus you see here, in the older Green/Purple (with the V) livery are used on Tempe Express Routes throughout the day.
The windows on Tempe's buses are sealed just as these are. Tempe's CompoBuses are also equipped with Run signs (signs on the lower right of the windscreen) which usually are just programmed to "0511" - "EXPR" - "0712"
One bus, I think 7164 has the window in the far back passenger side that opens all of the way. Could pose a danger to someone that doesn't know about it.
@cjthenoisemaker I think those are the windows that open out for emergency reasons but other then that they are just windows that pose like the ones on other buses that has that top part that opens so yeah these windows dont open but not fixed either But the driver side window does slide open, WHICH ISNT FAIR!!!!!!!!
The Tempe express buses have passenger windows the slide open like the drivers, but only half-way. This one I'm mentioning is not an emergency window, it's one that slides like the rest, but it has no limiter. So it opens all of the way.
If you are in Phoenix, videotape a ride on the Tempe express bus, and sit all the way in the back, right side. I would, but I'm in Nevada until June.
It looks like the inside of an airplane. I hope VM is strict about its no eating or drinking on the bus rule. These buses are so nice from the in and outside.
im not sure Possibly CNG like those other rapids but this one has racks above for luggage and a wall in the back for sound insulation
but check out the red and the orange version of these they are a Bit different in other states as far as I know the air conditioning unit is at the back and they do not have luggage racks
i wish dallas area rapid transit get compo buses. they are so cheep they want bmore rail lines
