So glad you put this up, I managed to loose it when I changed accounts, and it's a fantastic edit, with one of my favourite songs of all time - it sounds so modren somehow - love it. Billy
It's just as well that you haven't seen it yet. This past summer in Brazil they discovered a complete version of the film. All previous version have been cut versions that had to be augmented with title cards to explain what the missing sections were about. That means that soon you'll get to see the uncut version.
I love the song but I have to say that movie making has come a long way - the video portion is awfully silly.

Fantastic film. One of the finest solos I've heard was at a live show, mid '70s...RT playing this song.

dude, this is really good, but you need to make a version for the entire song. but you are on to something here.

This an awesome video!!! But how come you didn't use the entire song? You left out the 2nd part of the first verse. :(

It just didn't fit with the footage I was using.

MetaBob,
Excellent video.
Can you tell me the version of "Calvary Cross" you used in your video. I'd like to get it and play it over and over. It's great!.
Thanks.

It's the original album version from Richard & Linda Thompson's "I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight" (1974).

That song's from 1974?!!
:p It's just a shock to me.
-I mean did Thompson sound that way with Fairport Convention? To me, no.

Love that Richard Thompson - it's an intriguing mix with the art deco here.

Wow, Richard Thompson.... (breaking out the
Fairport Convention vinyl)... Also, does it look like Dali ripped this off or is it just me?
