  • I cried :(

  • You can follow Derek Redmond on Twitter (Derek_Redmond) and see him talking about this race on the ParliamentSpeakers channel.

  • He might not have won that race.. but he won the hearts of the millions there.. and he has enspired the billions that watched all over the world... that makes him a winner in my book! ;)

  • What was his time?

  • That evening he met a swimmer from the Team UK. They got married. Some good came that day.

  • @MemoryImplant

    They divorced in 2000.

  • @MemoryImplant they split up cos he was cheating on her.

  • @SupraEdomiteSlayer Still obsessed with black men huh, you little bizarre racist ass fagoot.? Derek Redmond? Id thought you'd have better taste than that. You seem more like a Shaquille Oneil type.

  • @Supraedomiteslaya oh, masha the obsessed homo troll is back, what a surprise...yawn!

  • wow...that sucks...its happened to me! at state track :( but my dad didnt come get me :( lol ADD ME...i got no friends

  • The pain isn't as bad as knowing he lost his chance. Years of training just to run one race and its taken from him and he knows he won't get it back. That had to hurt more than the physical pain.

  • I'v3e hqad those torn hamstrings THEY HURT!!!

  • imagine how broken hearted you'd be if this happened to you.........Derek Redmond is a great man for getting up and finishing the race despite his injury

  • i go st joes and im mmetin him on wednesday

  • lots of repect for these two guys

  • Real men

  • this always makes me tear us, everytime i watch it

the two redmonds are legends in my eyes

  • That is exactly what a real father does. Never leaves a son behind.

  • Wow! I love it!

  • i bet that hurt so bad!!! but thats alot of mental touphness to not go like most people would a jus lay there and b carried off.. he finished that thing!!!

  • This gives me chills

  • what courage, respect

  • i love that his father helped him, it gives me the chills when i see him cry

  • Having a dad that's always there for you in your time of need beats any amount of olympic medals

  • I still cry everytime I see footage.

  • I posted this on another version of this video, but seeing his father's tenacious devotion to his son made me actually applaud. This was a truly beautiful Olympic performance

  • just goes to show competing in the olympics isnt always about winning medals. you made britain proud derek.

  • Having a dad that loves you beats Olympic gold any day.

  • haha wow lets just let loose on a 5th grader... but ya he's a major loser for saying that.

  • thats a true hero of the olimpycs

  • I think you meant Olympics, but indeed, you are correct; he is a hero to many of us.
